I'm glad you like him. He definitely have a unique aura no one can mimic. You may enjoy watching him during his younger days in dramas like Point of No Return or Take My Word For It where he plays the funny, boyish troublemaker but always has heart in the right place kind of guy. Or even earlier in Legend of the Conder Hero 1994 as naive and cute Guo Jing. What I also love about most of the roles he plays was that they often have strong emotional growth and character developments where he learns, and matures
I am so annoyed they not only dubbed Julian Cheung's voice but also killed off his chara, Crazy Yan and his sister after their reunion. Their bonding time were so short-lived. And then sicko Kai Yan got off with absorbing all his Internal power too. Super irritated and not so optimistic about the ending now 😡

Oh actually it deviate from Shadow Love as both FL and ML knows each other identity right away while FL still have amnesia. Loving their interaction so far going from enemies to allies
Beginning of the story so far is similar to Shadow Love except the role is reverse, this time its FL who lost memory and ended up with ML enemy army...
Lets start by saying I am not a CY fan nor his haters. I like him in his previous dramas like L&R, Immortal Samsara, MLC, etc. I had to stop watching TJOL after like episode 6 aired and decided to continue once all episodes finished. (sometimes I check out previews in between) To me there is such things as too much torture lol. I was thinking to myself, why do I have to watch him struggle in tragic or devastated situations and vomits blood AGAIN when there is barely romance nor strong chemistry between leads (I would tolerate it more if it was)???😂 And they should stop making him play different versions of characters with his same face in one drama (yes I love the white hair style too lol but doesn't mean I want him that way again and again. it looks exhausting and kinda overlaps with his previous). I like wuxia and the concept of this story but those two points I mentioned kinda deterred me from watching it while it was airing as it was getting a bit repetitive for CY to play such characters or all his directors so far just being sadistic since they know hes good at playing the tragic ML thus are milking the hell out of it.
It just lacks that refreshing feel to me at this point and I didn't want to see it going downhill, so I wasn't so hyped/hooked on it as most are. I really wouldn't mind him being in some relaxing, feel-good drama with beautiful cinematography with no human toxicity for a change or even straight up comedy because boy he deserves it from all the crying he does every drama. That would be much more swoon-worthy and addicting for me. He needs more happiness and versatility in his roles. In any case, I will pick up from where I left off and finish watching the rest of TJOL, but that was my initial opinion of it. Another part of me also wanted to finish this drama for all the old-time actors that appears in it like Julian Cheung and Jackie Lui. Hopefully I won't be too disappointed by the rest of the drama.
2025 is definitely Wang Ying Lu's lucky break-out year, all her dramas is a hit, not to mention has interesting scripts. So excited to watch this one and then the upcoming Xiao Fang Chu Jia. Shes proven herself as a uniquely versatile and amazing actress! Love her so much, I can't wait! 🥰
I actually love Honoka as Miyama's new sidekick. I find her really cute as his disciple, trying to mimic him and is astonished at everything she learns about him. Her robot mania quirk is also adorable. I hope she stays on as regular cast
First 4 episodes make me feel a bit cringey and second-hand embarrassed, but everything started clicking into place from episode 5 onward. Now I find it quite cute, heartwarming and reminiscing of my school days.

I thoroughly enjoy this drama. I love all of XBM deductive analysis and bold, righteous speeches. He really have a silver tongue and the voice of reason. I also like the whole gang and ZKY rivalry. It reminded me of the old Young Justice Bao series. Truly underrated and highly recommended!
