Why did the mother fake her death?
Lol they didn't explain much. She just lived in seclusion. Go figure. Overall, the reasoning just fell flat for this show on multiple accounts. I wouldn't say she's a B but it is strange that for all these years they wouldn't think to just let him know that she's alive so he could at least visit her in secrecy....

Why did the mother fake her death?
Yup, couldn't agree with you more. She mentioned something about having to stay away or it would be bad for him,(Duke An). But like..... at least tell him she was alive. Oh well... sometimes I wonder what these writers are thinking or not thinking when they write out these storyline and the reasoning behind them lol

Why did the mother fake her death?
The King/Emperor was bombarded by his ministers to get rid of her believing that she would bring misfortune. So, he planned her fake death to protect her using Duke Su's fire as cover.

Agree completely. He was so cool in the beginning I would have loved to see them as love rivals and grudging allies.…
It truly was, they should've had the dead/hidden mother revealed halfway through and created a new antagonist where the main leads could've defeated together maybe even along with the Ruyi Pavillion crew. But nope, instead, multiple good people died all for pretty much nothing but a misunderstanding. Sigh

I found it pitiful that this entire revenge plot boiled down to a misunderstanding. I would understand it more had his mother really passed away and it wasn't Duke Su's fault, but she was alive all this time. His morals and personality drove him to commit evil deeds and caused many deaths which I also found pitiful because it was all for naught. At least Duke Cheng and those evils were driven by their own greed. Duke An could've been a wonderful and reliable companion to do good but turned to a path of vengeance over a misunderstanding. I loved the scene when they rescued Fu Rong from the hideout in that one episode and the two Dukes duked it out with the hooligans. It really showed that they were both capable men and could have gotten along had it not been for the misunderstanding between them. I don't believe that Duke An wouldn't have been able to put his own feelings aside if he didn't misunderstand Duke Su and believed he was trustworthy for Fu Rong. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted haha all the eye candy leads were worth the watch ;)

I doubt anybody will agree with me, but I kind of want to see Han Hyo Joo or Jung Eun Chae as female lead. I'd be super excited for that but I also don't know what the female lead character is supposed to be like so lolol they might not even be a good fit.

Lol I'm with you, I'm in this show more for HJP than the rest of the cast. Kim Seon Ho's acting is just so captivating. Especially all the heart warming or heart wrenching scenes with grandma. Doesn't help that young HJP was Nam Da Reum, one of my favorite child actors. Lol so yes, sorry but I am indeed biased towards HJP.

This is the one time I really hope SL comes out on top. From the looks of it, that's not going to happen, but if it does, I'd be pleasantly surprised. And if it doesn't happen, I hope she just doesn't end up with either of them.

Putting all the lying and impersonating items aside, I just don't feel the chemistry between DS and DM, even when they had their kiss scene. Yet, it feels like there's this quiet sizzle when DM and HJP are together that is waiting to burst out. Their banter and discussions just invite more personality from both of them and are great to watch.

And honestly, I don't even know why there's discussions on who is at fault for the lie. They all are. Grandma started it, HJP is her accomplice and so is DS, the moment he showed up at that networking event - had he not, HJP probably would've done something else to save face for DM. They all had the chance to come clean and they all found some excuse not to. So....... yeah.

So like...did Yong Sil's developer outright agree to be a part of NoonGil? No struggle getting them aboard? And…
That bothered me, but it also bothers me that Youngshil isn't 100% accurate, so to have visually impaired persons use it right now as they are developing it also doesn't seem right to me. Youngshil still answers things wrong and so did their facial recognition AI, so what if it accidentally incorrectly identifies something and the user gets injured or worst, dies. It just all seemed super rushed to me. But shrug

Watching this while waiting for new Ruyi episodes and imma be real, this is a show you watch for the friendship, not the romance haha the dynamic between the 4 'guys' are hilarious and I love all of Le Xuan's cheeky remarks and knowing smirks - it's adorable. And Lei Ao is a true tsundere but so protective of his 'little brother'. Also loved his friendship with Le Xuan and his banter with Feng Cheng Jun. Overall, its a good binge watch since you can FF when it gets a bit slow, but not lose interest if you had to wait for episodes to come out.

That ending was ridiculous.... after everything she just commits suicide? They didn't even tell her family.... so what is he gonna say after now. Oh, my queen committed suicide, life goes on? What a joke. Pretty much the last episode was suicide nation. No one got killed they all killed themselves, from the antagonists to the protagonists. Sigh.

This show better get a season 2 with the same cast. The ladies are such a riot, I love watching them and the male guests and Yoo Jae Suk. Hahaha they're hilarious and with Jessi's no nonsense and no filter attitude, all the ladies are like great, us too! And let's be real, all the ladies are crazy forces as individuals, but together comedy ensues hahaa can't wait for the last episode with Cha Tae Hyun. LMAOOO they HAD to bring another variety male star to battle it out in the last episode so that Yoo Jae Suk has a partner.

Title Private Lives Spoiler
The directing in this drama could be better. Like it has a good premise with great actors but I feel like it falls short. Similar to the first episode showcasing Cha Joo Eun's back story, Episode 3 was Lee Jwong Hwan's back story or part of it. Thats great, we need the back story, but it just felt almost out of place or shoved in our face. I wished they interweaved it in better but I guess it is what it is. Definitely knew he wasn't dead, so end of episode 4 wasn't anything surprising. At this point, it seems like its going to be a Jeong Hwan X Joo Eun X Bok Gi VS Edward Kim?

I couldn't even get halfway through the first ep of Private Lives. I'm wondering if I should just give it another…
Yeah, I kept hitting the FF button for the first episode of Private Lives. The 2nd episode was much more interesting with the introduction of the ML. They just didn't set up the initial plot for the FL well enough. Like, I'm sure we were supposed to sympathize for her but that didn't really kick in just a bit at the end of Episode 2.

Title More Than Friends Spoiler
We all know she's not going to end up with the second lead, if she does, that's gonna be a shock and the first time I see it happening. But I hope that Lee Soo does something to make up for how he's treated her these past few years. It's one thing to not accept her feelings but another to continue treating her as a friend - and let's be real, he treats her as more than a friend when you've already rejected her twice. And I don't think he ever gave her a reason why? I think he just says I don't like you, but lol that's obviously not true based on his actions.
