Another point interesting point I wanna add (which I should write a whole post on) is how close the situation in EP 6 reflects the stagnant state of policies implementation that is the result of a cabinet borned out of a huge compromise in Thailand.

2nd ranked party Pheu Thai betraying the 1st ranked more progressive People's Party who ranked first in the 2023 elections although they were expected to form a governent together -> Pita of the People's Party blocked by the parliament from becoming PM -> Pheu Thai goes on to form the government with more conservative parties -> Paetongtarn government not making much progress/delivering on their promise a year into this (some roadblocks created by the very own conservative parties they chose to collaborate with) -> Paetongtarn facing political scandal -> motions of censure and no-confidence vote in parliament

the show is so eerily close to real thai politics that the Boy Pakorn and Producer Moo Asava kept having to clarify that it's all a coincidence that a lot of the things happening in Mandate is similar to what's happening in Thai political situation during the press junkets i've watched 😅

no no it's alright. you probably had to watch ai/machine translated subs from ep 1 to 4 from monomax so it's completely valid reaction haha. i too was so frustrated by those subs that i felt compelled to do something about it so im still in the process of gradually fixing them for everyone else who might come to watch this show later on 🤣 glad that the subs in the later eps were better for you, subs are so crucial to enhancing one's watching experience, especially if we're watching anything not in our native language 🥹🫂

Awww. I'll keep everyone posted on the future eps 😅 Fixing EP 1 subs was crazy because I felt like rewriting the entire thing. I'm so glad the Monomax subs from ep 5 onwards got much better so it took way less time to clean them if not to say the subs were already essentially comprehensible without my edits

thank you for complimenting my subs 🥹😭 i really tried my best even though i'm not a native thai speaker, with a bit help from a thai friend on certain things. i'm not a native english speaker either so the sentences might not always flow well, i'm just trying to get my translations as close to the original sentence structure as possible 🥺

Haha, neither are but it's a really good series and I really hope more people would watch this and understand it better because the script is actually amazing (especially if you know a bit about thai politics) and quite contemporary and updated. It would be a shame if people missed out on a great show just because it had really bad subs 😭🫡

Yes. Thank you for putting it so perfectly. I really everyone else can have access to EP 6 with subs soon because I'm dying to talk to others about Dr Nong. He's such a fascinating character and I really enjoy that he's not the cookie cutter perfect doctor with impeccable morals. You can really feel the guilt taking a toll on him in the scenes with Jump this week and in his confession to Vee and I'm so happy that EP 5 and EP 6 had them fully opening up to each other before embarking on any of romantic relationship in the next ep.
