I can't comprehend your theory and would like if you elaborate it further. From my understanding of drama, I see the whole time travel and war as a catch-22. one can't exist without other.

I agree that either the war must have happened without time machine and sigma or time build without sigma and war.
It is mentioned offhandedly in the drama that the sigma bombs SK nuclear power plant. SK bombs NK ( probably by sigma's minions). NK nukes SK. China and USA intervene and play war in Koreas.
I agree no one is explaining the first cause of the original war.
It was laughable that they weren't mindful of the world politics. What happened to USA and SK being allies? What happened to world organizations like UN? though this fiction but still i couldn't help ignoring these questions.
Well, they dragged out the season 1 to afford season 2. If this comes early, I might watch it after all. I really liked the concept of season 1 just that they badly executed it. This show can enjoyed in background while doing other works because you don't have to worry about paying attention.

If u have previously watched well known time travelling movies and series then no. If this is your first time watching time travel story then little bit especially for last episode but it shouldn't let you discourage as there are many explanations given in discussions and comments. So if you are curious to watch, then give it a try.
I'm currently debating whether to watch this drama or not, especially since a lot of people mentioned that the…
Han tae sul is genius inventor who invents a machine which can sort of teleport things to different time and space. This machine is used by sigma to trigger war between Koreas. Meanwhile, kang seo hae is a kid growing up during war who escapes into nuclear bunker and survives years in post war conditions. She then encounters a diary of her future self who had time travelled into past in previous time loop. She reads the events and decides to prevent war from happening. But her going back into the past itself triggers the events to occur triggering the new time loop again. After coming to past right before war is about to happen, she is supposed to save Han tae sul from assassins of sigma. Sigma is a person who had been funding HTS to invent the machine so that the events keep looping endlessly. And there is control bureau which tries to keep notes of previous time loop and passes it on to next loop so that events are not altered. So, assassins from sigma don't actually intent to kill HTS before he invents the machine. They are taunting him akin to the previous loop. And after he invents the machine, they will kill both HTS and KSH and trigger the war leading to repeating the events. Now, why sigma is doing all this? He is a person who had bad childhood and had major tiff with HTS during kindergarten. So, he is constantly hating HTS and apathy of people around him triggers him to destroy the whole world. So, while on one such day, he attempts to commit suicide due to lack of success in his art career in his basement, nuclear war happens (which is caused by himself from previous time loop). He then repeats the events of past time loop so that he is saved again and world is nuked.
But this time HTS decides to do things differently and kills the sigma of previous time loop and saves present sigma by showing empathy. Yet again world is nuked because of his college friend who hates HTS for his arrogance who forces HTS to build time machine. HTS decides to end this endless loop by killing himself. So, no time machine is invented. So KSH of previous loop disappears and her present self grows up safely in present world. Sigma becomes reformed person but he still has notes of previous time loop. Final scene is open to interpret. Final scene: HTS is on board with KSH and just when takes his pills, he decides not to. And as camera pans out the stream of white light comes from cabin door and nobody is present in neighboring seats. Here's my interpretation: Since cabin door is a stream of light, I believe he is on his journey to afterlife and he imagines himself with KSH. And he doesn't want to wake up from this dream by taking that pill.
There are alternate interpretations too. But I don't think saving HTS is going to save the world. Events are only going to repeat.
~~ Now one might ask how did the first loop happen? Well that is a major plot hole. Because there must have been a time when machine was invented without funding from sigma as there was no sigma and there must have been a time when sigma was saved not because of war but because of other events as there was no previous time loop's sigma for war to happen. This is hardly addressed in the drama.
I don't know what beef the writer had with married men or that with married women or single women. There maybe some men who might lust after a random woman he encountered but not all three have to be. There maybe some malicious women who intentionally wanna break home but not all three have to be. There maybe some flaws in every married women but doesn't have to convince husband to cheat. First, did he be vocal about his issues. Did he talk it out with spouse seriously without lame reasons or roundabout way. Second, if he was convinced that things have gone beyond control then did try to call it quit before not getting into bed with some chick. Third, did he beg for forgiveness after the mess he created without unapologetically blaming it all on his wife and considered himself like attaining catharsis.
I think there might be a season 2 or an open ending? o.o Remember the baby in 1st ep that was dropped, I think…
true, i too felt the same. Even the title feels that way "Luca:the beginning" means there might an "Luca: the ending" . I hope they won't leave us in open ending.
I like the creativity and volunteering nature of fl but still it is not professional to get constantly distracted by something or other and make a mess at work. Additionally, I just can't handle the obnoxious ostentatious younger self of fl; impatient to see her character growth.
