there was a certain scene in one of the episodes that made me think that the father is not as oblivous as he acts..we also don't have much info abput his relationship with JL's birth mother. maybe i am reading to much into it

her sisters are so dumb..they almost make it too easy for her to scheme circles around them lol

WJY is such a gem and so underrated! it's unfortunate that alot of her projects since her big hit yanxi palace never gathered much steam

the slow mo and zoom ins are a bit excessive but it's not annoying enough to take me out of the drama. I hope they ease up on it in later episodes

wu jinyan really shines in these types of stories..this is the first time i'm watching her in anything since yanxi palace and I did not realise how much I missed seeing her on my screen

the ending of ep 25..i was bawling

lmao these were not filler episodes at all..it not only showed how the feelings between the two leads developped but it's clearly a set up to reveal the truth about what happened that night

wow I had the exact same thought when I was watching them, they're super mature and the sexual tnsion is insane. wlis definitely has superior writing compare to fake it till you make it imo

excellent writing, gorgeous cinematagrophy and AMAZING chemistry!! this is such a gem and I can't get enough of it. if more modern cdramas were as good as this one i'd enjoy them half as much as I enjoy the costume dramas

the leads had no chemistry at all which is unfortunate, the second couple however did have chemistry and I thought they were well matched..i basically sped through the last few eps for their scenes (which weren't much).

I really liked the second couple..i wish they had a bit more screentime. since ppl are moving crazy in this comment section i won't comment on anything else lmao.

alot of flaws but in my 6 years of watching cdramas so far this one has stuck with me..maybe because of the dark subject matter or the indie-like way it was shot, but I have not seen another cdrama yet the replicated the feelings thos one gave me. I came out of this absolutely adoring most of the cast until this day, and i still think this drama has the most memorable ost I've heard

he is just so cool. and also very busy! if his schedule evetually slows down it would be nice to see him do some more interesting movies instead of just dramas. some of the dramas he's in don't give justice to his talent imo, as much as I still enjoy them

the styling looks gorgeous

what's annoying is I have a feeling that this is TJC and CZY best acting yet and we might not get to see it
