LGX has been killing it for the entire show. Tbh I was not that impressed with him specifically when I watched PA (zyl stole the enitre show for me) but I have LOVED him in this. He perfected the subtlety and restraint of a last ancient god in the world perfectly

you're right, we don't have his side and like someone said in the comments, his betrayal seemed so sudden..but at the same time I don't think any explanation could redeem him from that kind of betrayal in SL's eyes. mofang knows that too , after serving her for so many years, he would know how she thinks and how important the Immortals and the realm is to her. i think thats why he looked so guilty/confused during the reveal - because he knew that trust is gone forever. its a done deal, no matter his reasoning

the same Mofang that betrayed her and lead to the death of a bunch of her soldiers and generals?? and not just regular deaths, they died in brutal ways which added to her guilty conscience of not being able to protect them..knowing shen li's sense of duty to her soldiers and the civillians of her realm, Mofang killed any chance he had to be with her (not that there was any in the first place, as she made very clear from the beginning)

i'm sorry he made the whole realm shake and visibly terrified the heavenly lord when he was asking for"permission" to investigate her death but no one in that room could put 2 and 2 together that he likes her? 🤣

Even without me reading the novel, LGX acting did justice to that..he looked so sad by her words and I think she completely shattered his aloof/indifferent attitude..almost like he would give up his divinity to be that frail mortal again just to get her love ;(

Yes, she completely shattered his indifferent and "distant" posterior he puts on as a God. I think they both are aware of XY conflicting feelings for her but other factors like the difference in status and the tension between their two realms complicates both their feelings..can't wait for him to admit he doesn't care about any of that soon, and just gives in to wanting to be with her!

Everyone said it already but the scene with their *talk* was too good, from the way it was shot, the dialogue, the acting and the tension. Shen Li is usually coarse, but her words to XZ felt extra harsh. Although with his mouth he was saying it was "good thing" she moved on each word seemed like a stab; that's what his face showed. Even though she was technically being rejected by him her harshness made it seem like the opposite. Just when I thought her rejection of Mofang was brutal, her nonchalance in the face of his "rejection" somehow felt worse. But like everyone else is saying, I think the way she handled it will make him realize his feelings quicker. Kudos to the actors again I can't praise them enough

both leads seem to have gotten alot a free reign in terms of ad libbing and character design and I think thats what adds the extra something that ,akes it so enjoyable to watch. (not comparing) but I remeber for lfbad wang hedi was allowed to take alot of creative liberty with character design and those little things was what made his character to memorable. cdramaland directors should take this as a sign to let actors (esp the more experience ones) to have more creative imput

it seems to be a thing for tencent xianxias right now, to make them look more "real" and "grounded". someone made a similar observation about another tencent xianxia that aired recently (can't recall the name atm) but it seems to be a deliberate stylistic shift

i'm sure there'll be at least 2 more fight scenes with them before the series ends. this reminded me that their fight scenes together was why i loved PA so much (even more than the romance). they are peak enemies to lovers

I enjoyed their fight scene sooo much I wish it was longer. There's something about these 2 together that just works

same I didn't realise so many ppl would dislike it..those have beeen the most comedic scenes so far for me

omg as if the leads were'nt amazing enough, zheng yecheng has a support role!!! i've really missed him in historical roles

wish i could wipe it from my mind and watch it again :(( ..if anyone has recommendations to anything that's similar pls share with me
