the actors who played the kids real ages are in their 20s so they could've easily played their 30-year selves as well. i also thought that the final episode was unnecessary but it doesn't change the fact this is the best drama to come out of last year
jing tian finally has a leading man that surpasses zbb. it's actually ridiculous how perfectly matched she and xu kai are and the chemistry feels soo natural. i hope they work together again in another drama with a more interesting plot
I love this kind of atmosphere in dramas, the music is great too
i know what you mean. i don't know what you call this type of atmosphere but it reminds me alot of "something in the rain" that i also loved mostly for the vibe and the "mood" of the drama
i love the vibe so much. i haven't seen the korean version so I can't compare, but like other comments have said the ML has an "edge" to him. zhang wanyi has a slightly off-putting vibe to his acting which is probably why he does "serious" roles so well. (TJC gives me the same off-putting feeling). if this was a straightforward romance drama I don't think he would've fit the role but for this type of drama I think he was perfectly cast.
although his acting style might not be everyone's taste, I think he especially shines in those moments of tension in the drama, especially the moments where him and the fl almost "cross the line". It also makes sense that his character has an "edge" to him considering he might be jaded by his circumstances with his parents, his divorce and his sister - on top of falling for someone who's already taken
the first ep immediately set the vibe. i'm interested to see how this type of story will be executed since it's the first time I'm seeing it in a c-drama. I've seen this type of story done in k-dramas and j-dramas before and although i'm still not sure how i feel about those dramas, i can't help but watch them. in j-dramas and c-dramas, the "cheaters" never truly get a happy ending, it's either an open ending or a sad ending
I have to agree with the general sentiment..the writer lost the reigns at the last few episodes. I can't help but feel like there was no lcear conclusion and alot of characters development went to waste. but then again it's called a "journey" not a "destination" to love so I guess I should have expected this kind of ending. it still could have been executed in a much better way.
put chemistry that chemistrying aside, i cant praise enough about the portrayal of martial arts in this drama.…
you're so right about the maturity thing..they act exactly according to their age in the drama (late 20's early 30's), and I love how blunt they both are. they also act how I would expect assasssins who experienced so much in their lifetime to be. they're the perfect match
