She was groomed by her mother to hate her half-sister, I'm pretty sure. If she knew that FL was her blood sister, she'd probably feel differently. I hope they redeem her character.

Hi. It depends on if you like historical, mystery and suspense with little romance. If the answer is yes then please watch this! The leads are smart, there is no distracting love triangle, the villains are evil and no spoilers are shown in the opening sequence. The plot moves very quickly so it is very binge-worthy. Some viewers had issues with the FL's voice dubbing and facial expressions but I found her quite believable. Also the five leads (including both couples) have chemistry. Give it a try!

Why the rating so low??? Should be an 8.5 at least!!! Drama of the year for me!

The romance is not the main focus of the story. It's there but kind of in the background. The story is very fast-paced and gets back to the main mystery very quickly. Unlike you, I find the chemistry very believable and organic btw both couples (all five MLs actually). Please continue to watch. I usually love a ton of romance in my dramas so I was surprised that I very much enjoyed this show as the romance is minimal. Hope this helps!

Watching episode 25 now and hands down this is my favorite show of 2021! And it's definitely in my top 5 of all-time dramas. Never a dull moment in this, the acting is pretty good, perfectly balanced with romance, suspense, plot and action scenes. Very unique and the director, producers, staff utilized their small budget perfectly to tell a great story. Love this so much. The main characters, including the main villains are smart and competent. Love that there is no stupid rivalries btw the females or the males. It's great seeing healthy friendships in dramas. Superb show!

Agree that she is adorably beautiful. It was laughable how they tried to pass her off as plain in Meteor Garden. Loving this drama so far. She and Jasper have awesome chemistry!

I love that the romance adds to the story and doesn't drag the plot down. Like it's there but not the main focus of the drama. Love this show so much!!!

Wow. I can't even tell that it's low cost/budget bc they utilize graphics so well. Love this show!

Not really major. There are cute moments but it doesn't take up a lot of the plot. However, the Prince's love for the FL is evident. Give the drama a try, it is very entertaining with no annoying characters. Even the villains are great as in you want them to get their comeuppance.

Yes...I love him, too! His arguing with Jing Yi was adorable in episode 20. He came late into the show but I love his character. His love for his brother is awesome to see. I hope all five main characters make it to the end. I love them all. So glad to see competent and supportive female characters and no jealousy or fighting for a man. The plot, the characters and setting and even the intro (love how they change it up!) are perfect. Even the villains and side characters are
good. This drama will definitely make my top list of the end if there is a happy ending.

Totally agree with you. FL may be naive in the ways of the world outside of her small town but she has been sheltered her whole life. She is very bright and all her actions fit with her character (even in the slight outburst at the Prince in episode 12). The romance might be little so far but all of the interactions btw Chu Chu and Prince An are great. It's obvious that he already likes her a lot while she is clueless about her feelings for him (which I kinda of love). The only character I dislike is her brother Chu He but he's slightly better in epi 19. This is in my top 2 drams of 2021 so far (Miss Crow with Mr. Lizard is the other). Can't wait to watch all the episodes.

OMG! I thought I was the only one! I can never understand why fans are always praising him when I cannot watch even 1 drama with him. His expression is the same. I like him as a person (he seems super cute and adorbs in real life) but he always looks the same in his dramas.

I blame the stylists! For some reason, in all c-dramas, they rarely ever change the FL's hair styles. Which makes it so unrealistic!

OMG! I hate when the evil girl never gets her comeuppance! Every c-drama, there's always a crazy girl who does all these evil things and never get called out for it. I hope this one doesn't do the same. I agree that Su Man Lin is soooo annoying. Like seriously, he never showed you any interest before the FL showed up so why would he now. I hate shows that have girls fighting girls. Ah well. anyway, this drama is totally adorable. I'm officially a fan of Allen Ren after this...he's so handsome and his voice (hopefully, he's not dubbed in this, right?) is so deep and attractive. Love his character here and in Under The Power.

Ha! Same, I watched this drama to fill my void from Miss Crow with Mr. Lizard. I rarely watch dramas that last more than 32 episodes (and even that's too long!) so 55 was a stretch. But I totally watched this for Allen Ren, he is so good in this! He has great chemistry with the FL. FL took a while for me to warm up to but I loved her character after episode 8ish. She loves to eat and is pretty smart herself, she saves the ML just as much as he saves her. I don't understand why some ppl commented that she got dumber bc I didn't think she did. Anyway, there are a lot of annoying characters in this and I admit to FFWing a lot. I only watched for ML and FL only.
