Is General Song really gonna betray Xiao Qi. He's not a bad guy is he? Please say it isn't so. Please. I like his character so far. Not over a woman. Come on now.
I 100 percent agree. I've not seen a male character like him. And the fact that his flaws are so realistic. He…
Yes. Through his facial expressions alone he conveys so much power, emotion and more. He's a wonderful actor. No matter how this drama ends whether it breaks my heart with a sad ending or not - I am a fan of Mr. Zhou Yi Wei from now on. I'm hooked.
Totally agree Qianer is a cry baby I can't no more ahah
Yeah that Jin'er chick is quite annoying and just ridiculous. Got the nerve to be crying and feeling violated after that due with Hulan Zhen fronted her. She's just pitiful. And I agree the cousin was/is an irrelevant story line. It's laughable that she thinks she's going to become a concubine to Lord Zhaung. I mean come on chick. He don't want you and he sure don't want you near his wife after your little antics. He done already peeped your game. These women I swear.
Honestly the annoying characters are such pain in the ass like I want to see competent enemies not that mess
I agree. It's really a ridiculous scenario to have all these men after her. And what's even ore ridiculous are the women angry with her like it's her fault these men don't want them and act like there aren't any other beautiful women in the capital. The whole mindset of get rid of the competition because then he'll want me is quite toxic. The level of delusional is unreal. We'll see how it goes now the Huaien is marrying Yunxi and, Hulan claims he don't want her per his alliance with 3rd Prince who in his delusional mind thinks he'll get back and they gonna be happy after he helps to murder her husband (he is not only weak but a hair brained shell of a man. All that fine and handsome is wasted on this character, they should have gotten another guy for the role lol. The man portraying him looks too manly and strong for this weak wimpy role. But I guess that was the point. All pretty and nothing else). And the emperor. Help us. Even though he is a rapist he seems to be the only one willing to let her be happy other than Huaien. I don't know how far you've gotten but his mother is plotting to kill Awu's husband too because she's still determined to have a Wang woman sit on the throne as empress so I think her plan is to kill her husband and then marry her off to the Emperor. Good luck with that. And the emperor so wimpy. He's trying hard to be a man but his momma got him on lock.
Over all the whole dynamic between the 3rd prince, the emperor and Awu is just gross because they're all cousins so the fact that they lusting after family is weird but i know that was comma in the error of monarchies. My goodness. The drama. Lol.
Totally agree Qianer is a cry baby I can't no more ahah
Crybaby, trouble making, arrogant, ungrateful. Got the nerve to want Awu to help her after all the mess she caused. Honestly who I really am ready to cancel is that Empress and Jin'er. Jin'er has been with her since she was a child. She's ridiculous. All over a man who don't want her. Cancel her.
I 100 percent agree. I've not seen a male character like him. And the fact that his flaws are so realistic. He…
Listen I'm serious. These young men like Caesar Wu, Ken Wu, Li Hong Yi, Kim Young Dae, Neo Hou and so forth make my pressure go up they so fine. But they so young.. I need an older celebrity to crush on because the majority of them are younger than my daughter or the same age. This cannot be. Lol..
I 100 percent agree. I've not seen a male character like him. And the fact that his flaws are so realistic. He…
I'm gonna have to check that out because I'm officially smitten. Plus he's close to my age so I don't feel like I got a cradle robbing crush because of these young boys is way too fine but wayyyy to young to be smitten with .... Lol.
I am officially starting a petition #CancelTheseWomen Qian'er, Wanru and Jin'er. As deceitful as the Empress Dowager is, I'm not trying to cancel her. At least she's a relevant villain but these three chicks got me ready to throw hands and go to war! They are working my nerves.
I 100 percent agree. I've not seen a male character like him. And the fact that his flaws are so realistic. He…
Thanks. I love this character so much or maybe it's the man playing him. I promise he is gorgeous. I love the way he talks to her. For him to be a man of war he's so gentle and caring and attentive. It's almost like watching a man whole a baby for the first time. They are full of love to give but not quite sure of who to approach so at times he goes rushing in like with the decision to give her contraceptives and others he handles her so softly like with delicate gloves or something. His character dynamic is unbelievable and he is killing this character. Like from now on if they were to ever do a remake of this drama - he will always be Xiao Qi. No one can play this character like him. He is a phenomenal actor.
I have always been indifferent to many of the male characters in historical dramas because they seem so brutish if I can put that way. It's like they love the woman but in a ownership kind of way. He doesn't treat her like he owns her. We didn't have to endure the trope of her hating him and him being abusive towards her or her being desperate and him being full of himself. He is just a straight up good guy with flaws and issues like a normal guy. Like he's the regular guy on the street who attracts you not because he is the best looking but because there's something special about him as person. That's who he is. Amazing.
I never says it enough but I highly doubt there will be a male lead character in a costume cdrama as good as Xiao…
I 100 percent agree. I've not seen a male character like him. And the fact that his flaws are so realistic. He told her being a man of war he's never feared losing anything but he fears losing her. He's a smart man when it comes to the battlefield but not smart when it comes to love. His giving her contraceptives while totally wrong without her knowledge speaks to his fear of possibly losing her and his mindset as a warrior. Confront the problem and take it out swiftly. He's thinking like a man in love without understanding of how to properly protect what he doesn't want to lose. To me that's realistic. There's no malice to what he's doing but it's wrong because he made the choice for her. His heart however is being affected in ways it hasn't been before so he's like a child learning how to love, share, communicate and so forth properly. For that I can appreciate the man he is. His flaws are ones that can be overcome. He's not malicious. He doesn't see her as useless and just a woman. He respects every aspect of who she is. He loves her genuinely. Their love is realistic and believable as are his flaws and hers and I love that about this drama and their relationship. He's a man in love, a man afraid and he made a dumb decision but that's it. He did it for love and out of fear and we all can attest to doing dumb stuff out of fear. It happens.

Yes I'm rooting for that to happen and I believe it will because when she was in the square with her maid, he looked out of the carriage and saw her and I'm sure he took notice of her since they're saying she looks similar to the Princess. They need to take her and that Jin'er too while they at it. I'm done with her because how are you going to betray the Princess over a man who she doesn't want any more and a man who don't want you. I mean the delusion of it all.
No other trope wears me out like the delusional, I'm the better woman for him, I saw him first, He belongs to me and you can have him even if I know deep down he doesn't want me trope. That manipulation, do everything possible to force him to see me trope. I don't get it. I mean he said not you - NEXT and you still trying to remain in the line when he said no. Let go all ready. This drives me insane. The desperation of it all it nauseating.

Yeah me either but I guess they had to slide it in there. At any rate I am thinking she may be the person that Helan Zhen chooses but he's not choosing a wife for himself. He's there as an envoy to make the marriage proposal for his brother Helan Tuo and my concern is the Princess can be overly soft and forgiving. And after hearing about how Helan Tuo does women from Xiao Qi, she may try to intervene and stop her from going. As far as Helan Zhen is concerned, we all know who he wants. He is still in love with the Princess and is plotting with the third prince who is also still in love with her to kill her husband. How that's gonna work who knows because even if they were to succeed which we know they won't but even if - who gets the Princess because they both want her and are plotting out of their own revenge and they both want her. Poor Princess got men in love with her every where. General Song was a surprise but not really. I guess after fighting side by side with her it was easy to fall. He's seen a side of her that her husband has only heard about. At least he ain't plotting against her husband and is trying to keep his feelings in check. I feel for her though because the Emperor still got it bad for her too. Who else is gonna show up? I mean they gonna have all the women hating her.

A pain is correct. I cannot deal. I just skip through their parts of the drama because it's really unnecessary drama added. There is already enough drama going on. Why add an annoying entitled female who thinks it's her right to just beat up on someone because she was clumsy and tripped over her own feet. Some of these subplots or whatever they add to the drama are just overkill sometimes. They do way too much.
How long must I suffer with Awu's cousin. She is a pain in the neck. She was dead wrong for attacking Yinxu. Will she be shipped off. She is a snot. And that Jin-er needs to catch some hands too. How you going to betray someone who loved you like Awu loves her over a dude who doe not want you? These females are driving me crazy.
Okay? But. I never said I didn't like the drama. Excuse me if I'm a little thrown off by the tone of your response. As I stated in my response. I have an issue with the female lead and I've found it hard to get past those issues so I dropped the drama because as much as I love the concept, JCW and the other characters the FL is just getting on my nerves so in order to avoid frustration and complaining and feeling flustered I dropped it which is unfortunate for me because I like the drama. That is why I forced myself to push through more episodes I want to watch it.
So I'm still searching for where I stated in my comment that I didn't like the drama. I don't care for the FL character. That's it and I've had many dramas that I've loved where I just can't get past certain characters and have moved on. It happens. Thanks for responding tho.
That's good to know. I have successfully dropped this drama though. I gave it 8 episodes and I'm officially done. As much as I adore Ji Chang Wook. I just cannot seem to get into this drama. I tried really hard but the female lead is just rubbing me the wrong way. I don't have a problem with JCW's character because I believe it's a refreshing reversal. Usually it's the women that are portrayed as overly clinging, unable to move on and so forth. However when a man is that way he's considered weak or a creep. He genuinely loved her and she broke his heart. I can appreciate the vulnerability and faithfulness of the character. I've seen men be broken by women like this. It's a discussion many don't want to have because they always want to dog men. But I've seen men emotionally damaged just like this. It happens. They exist and it's nothing creepy about their emotions or love. It's called being raised right. He's faithful and is committed who wouldn't want a man like that. Her on the other hand I just can't. And I cannot. I tried. I cannot.

I still love this drama though.
