Title Joy of Life Spoiler
First of all I've got 3 words - Uncle Wu Zhu!!! Okay so I passed by this drama multiple times. I decided to watch it after seeing Zhang Hao Wei in Love Is All. Wasn't expecting much from this drama but this drama is the BOMB!!!!! Like Fan Xian has no fear of no one. It makes me worried at times but it's so refreshing that he just don't care about these royals and their hypocrisy. I love it. This drama is everything.

Lol. Guess my passion is showing a bit. I can't help it. I just got into watching Asian dramas in September of 2019 and I have never experienced anything like them. I never really watched TV at all before this because US TV shows are so uninteresting. So it's nice to have something I can watch that keeps my attention. And the gorgeous men are a plus. Lol.

Worse, most confusing, non-closure ending in the history of all endings ever in the world. HORRIBLE... I was so enjoying this drama. Had high hopes and then they were all lined up fired upon and violently beheaded. That's how I feel right now.

Listen here!! I've said it before and will say it again. Best Drama of 2020 Internationally. Better than anything on US TV and I'm sure this is better than anything airing right now anywhere in the world. The writing, the acting the story line. They've taken familiar tropes and presenting them in such a subtle, fresh and new way. They've introduced fresh and new things while intertwining a love story for the ages. I mean really. I have a strong passion for this drama. I cannot say enough about the actors. And I'm head over heels in love with Lee Joon Gi. I mean he is amazing.

The temptation to read through spoilers is real for me each week. My goodness. This drama is everything. Everything I say!! Lee Joon Gi is an acting genius as is Moon Chae Won and the little one playing their daughter -Jung Seo Yeon exceptional talent. Exceptional. She is slaying the daddy's girl role. Her facial expressions, her timing, her sheer presence is mesmerizing. You would think she was his daughter in real life because of they have that father/daughter chemistry. It's phenomenal. There's not one bad thing I can say about this drama. Not one thing. And aside from the stellar acting of Lee Joon Gi, his visuals are a plus. That man is superhero fine. Yes I said what I said. He is superhero fine..

CLOY will always and forever be the best drama I've ever seen in my life. From start to finish. I can wrap up the acting, the script, the story line, the soundtrack and all with one word - PHENOMENAL. Re-watching the episodes is like watching it again for the first time because it's so rich and so full of power. I'm crying right now.

Yu Ming Ye thought she looked better in the beginning so it wasn’t everyone ?
Even though he's supposed to be a bad guy. I actually love his character the most. He not only authentically loved her like she was this man fell in love with her scent, remembered it and recognized her right away. I mean come on. I'm sticking with him. He was the only one willing to take on everything and everyone for her without hesitation or fear. He was willing to risk it all. Who wouldn't choose him. I mean the ML is okay but Yu Ming Ye is the MAN!!

That was my thought as well after watching the first episode. I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was.…
Agreed. And I am slowly getting into Historical/Costume dramas more and more. I absolutely adore the leads of this drama. I love how the ML knows exactly what he wants. I love how honest they both are with each other as well. The acting is great. The fight scenes are amazing. I am going to enjoy this thoroughly. I finished all 10 episodes and I am desperate for the rest of them now. :-)

This really frustrates me too but unfortunately, bullying, cyber-bullying, and gossiping is are some Koreans bread…
Thank you for your honesty and answering about that because I don't want to make assumptions about a people group or their culture based off what I see in dramas. I know Korean dramas are made by Korean people but as a Black woman we've had things portrayed about us in dramas and Hollywood and such by non-black people that has influenced what people think about us as a whole and it's frustrating. So I didn't want to develop a view about Korean people or assume the women were crazy possessive about men they never dated to the point of destroying other people's lives just because they fell in love with someone at 8 years old and have held on believing something was there when it isn't. I know most of that is just dramatizing but sometimes people are influenced by that and will develop bad thoughts about people. I know because a lot of people think Black women are loud, rude and ghetto because that's how we've been primarily portrayed in media. And then the small percentage that are like that are seen in music videos and such that have a heavy influence and impact on other cultures. So it can be frustrating.

Again I was curious about it. And I wanted to know for various reasons. And because you're Korean I am even more grateful for you taking time to answer me. I appreciate it.

I think its because it happens in reality too and thats why they portray it in dramas as well
It's sad to hear about the suicide rate. And that's one of the reasons I had questions because I watched one drama where I was thinking to myself with the level of bullying and no one coming to the defense of the person at what point does it become dangerous either to the person enduring the bullying or dangerous to others. Me personally I couldn't live like that I would hurt someone because the way I was raised is you don't let anyone put their hands on you and don't stand for people talking down to you either. Again thank you for answering.

Thanks for your response. I was just wondering. As a black person, there have been so many things portrayed about us in media and Hollywood that's not true to who we are so I was just wondering if it's an issue they include to bring awareness, is it a popular trope or what, are these issues common to the culture or what. So I thought I might ask instead of developing a view of people based off what I see in dramas because I know what it feels like to have ideas developed about you based off certain types of portrayals and representation in media/films and such.

Just finished episode one and this is the most unexpectedly enjoyable first episode I've ever seen in a drama. I wasn't gonna watch this because historical dramas are just not my thing but I've been watching them more and more and this I love thus far. I can only get better because episode one got me hooked.

I'm completely up for being spoiled, so someone please tell me what happens to Yu Ming Ye (AKA, the only character…
Honestly he is my favorite character. The only real and honest character among them imo. And he's supposed to be a bad guy.. I'm just sayin

They want to promote white skin making her ugly with dark skin. But am I the only one thinkingb she was much prettier…
Agreed. Me and my husband were both quite confused at her being called ugly because she made her skin darker and she added freckles to her face. I thought she was much cuter that way honestly.

So since I started watching Kdramas well Asian dramas in particular I have a question I've been wanting to ask because I'm curious. What's up with the bullying and gossiping to the point of destroying people? What's up with the mindset of ownership that most of the female characters display when it comes to their first love or someone they feel they have rights to first even if that man never showed interest in them or gave them the time of day outside of saying hello or being cordial? And what's with the whole feeling like you got a right to put your hands on someone or their private things: checking the phone of other people, deleting their messages and so forth? These things unnerve me to no end. Like I think to myself sometimes if it were me I would have knocked a couple of people out by now just for feeling like they had the right to talk down to me or put their hands on me or anything belonging to me. There's so many things I just want to ask because they repeat themselves in so many of these dramas.

Just questions. Questions that were sparked by those things presenting themselves already in this drama. Just questions. The screaming has made me delirious.

I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this Kdrama thus far. I love Ji Soo, he is so adorable and he deserves to be the male lead who gets the girl. Ha Seok Jin however is my first Kdrama love so I don't know how to feel about his character. There has not been a Ha Seok Jin character that I didn't love: I even loved the prickly ones. This guy is interesting. I'm finishing up episode 2 and I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch. I may wait until it's all uploaded.
