There are a lot of frustrating moments for the love story of our leads but, eh, we are suckers for this drama anyway. Keep 'em coming so we can feel the sweetest ending!
SPOILER! [you have been warned!] The King coming by the Queen's quarters without missing a night (since the Crown Prince's d) just to check if she's already asleep and the Queen eventually telling the King that he can stop doing it since she is "not the only who lost a child" and that he needs to look after his health is LOVE. Who needs romance? (I'd like to think that despite the many concubines, the King's heart is only for the Queen... but the case might be the same if one of the concubines also lost a child... he'd worry for the mother nonetheless).
So I actually waited for Netflix to automatically download Episode 7 after watching the 6th episode, only to realize that it won't be available until next week. AARRRGHGGHG!
Does anybody know any dramas similar to this in the following aspects (and/or)? // School Setting // Teacher-focused // Teacher helping students // Calmly fighting corruption. The Recommendations tab has a good list but many of them are not set in schools. Thank you!
This drama is like a summer vacation place you'd be drawn to visit from time to time. Just having one season of this story is enough and if Team Genie were to return, I'd hope for a spin-off, even if it's animated or a webtoon. I want to enjoy more time with Team Genie granting wishes to dying persons (and objects, too), with Dr. Yang on board. I'd like to see more of the Sisters, too, as well as the Angel Village. Definitely a 10 on rewatch value.
SPOILER ALERT! I agree with you with all that you wrote, especially with the last sentence of your review. I'm not sure if this is because of the bad subtitles but for me, how Cheon Nana was established as the person who killed Jung Hee Joo did not carry enough weight for an amazing finale. I already had an inkling that she's the culprit at around Episode 7 and I only kept watching to find out how the team would discover it and to know exactly what "triggered" her do it. I can say that the thrill is worthy of binge-watching, but the finale fell short for me so I felt so disappointed like, "Is that it?" Cheon Sang Woo and Choi Yong Geun being released, plus the detectives asking for support from Cheon Sung Dae (Dad) was also disappointing. Anyway, thanks for the review.
EP 2/16 - The last few moments of the 2nd episode got me invested with how the story is going now. I might actually enjoy the journey of the second season of this drama. I'm gonna keep watching.
Why are the subtitles on k!ssasian so bad? Any good sources?
I watch using Loklok. A few lines may be missing, but they're not crucial the story anyway. You can settle with the subtitles this app has. Or you can try watching in MyAsianTV or MKVDrama.
Yep. Even in parts where we probably haven't experienced first-hand, it's easy to relate because our family culture…
Ah, yes, even the chismis! Haha. If this drama were to be broadcasted in Philippine afternoon or evening primetime, I think many would actually watch and appreciate it. But then again, revenge dramas tend to have more "audience impact" compared to feel-good ones. '^^
Completely agree with you. Coming from a family-oriented culture like ours (Filipino here too), it is easier to understand the context of the decisions certain characters made in this drama. It is the first 50-episode drama that I finished (so congratulations to me! hehe) and none these episode seemed boring. This gives me motivation to finish a 52-episode drama that I've put on hold since 2019 52 feels just too long for me!). LOL. Anyway, every relationship in this drama was realistically portrayed and if you look at it more deeply, there are also moments that reflect certain spiritual values and that makes the drama even more memorable for me. Thank you for this review. Hope we get to see more dramas like this!
Well written review. I can actually resonate with you opinion. Watching it won't be a waste of time but it also isn't something you would want to promote.
