I love that K is honest enough to talk out loud about what everyone else is thinking... I do agree with his statement that these 2 have some skills but not enough to rank them 1st and 2nd over much more talented contestants who have won us over with their talents instead of the typical fandom popularity.
FYI: Rain and Zico are the best mentors at giving constructive criticism and feedback. Their feedback are constructive, reassuring and can be used as a motivational tool to further the contestants’ musical and artistic development... Not soul-crushing as we saw in the most recent episode with little poor Ta-Ki.
One of better drama I have seen.Thank goodness for the Male leads and some of the female actresses. The main two…
I will say it... The 2 leading female characters were useless, unneeded, unlikable and rather unnecessary even though the storyline called for their characters.
More specifically, the female lead character, Un Nyun / Kim Hye Won - played by Lee Da Hae, was one of the most boring female character ever... I could not understand for the life of me why that girl was acting like a high born with noble status without any survival skills whatsoever throughout the entire drama. Even though she was a slave only 10 years earlier. I really never understood or liked her character.
I agree with you about him acting in more serious projects. I feel he shines best in more serious roles. I actually…
Agreed. I am watching this drama and I am asking myself “Why is he in this?” This is so below his caliber. It is so unfortunate that his freedom comes with a limited selection of projects.
I believe much better and more serious projects are coming his way. Zheng Ye Cheng has the skills, the talent, the looks and the perseverance to succeed in this cutthroat Chinese film industry.
Yes, but oth, the post above says this drama got 730 million views on just one channel.. That's worth something,…
Hey, The more viewers... the better...
Anything to help him out. I am not crazy about the storyline (one in a million produced every year); I am only watching this drama to support his acting career.
He did not sign any entertainment company therefore have limited choices. He entered the field with zero entertainment…
That is so unfortunate and very upsetting. As one of his international fans, I wish him all the best of luck... Because he really does shine in his roles no matter how small and insignificant they are.
*To me, Zheng Ye Cheng is on the same acting skill level as Luo Yunxi.
He did not sign any entertainment company therefore have limited choices. He entered the field with zero entertainment…
He really does deserve more. Compared to the increasingly high numbers of eye-candies out there who base their fame solely on popularity... Zheng Ye Cheng got the skills and the talent.
*Even when he is playing an ass (I apologize for my French); his deliveries are flawless.
He did not sign any entertainment company therefore have limited choices. He entered the field with zero entertainment…
Why... Why... in the names of all that are godly; he has not signed with a entertainment company yet? WHY? This young man is good. He is really good at acting.
*Am I the only one who has noticed that? FYI: He did graduate from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre of Arts, majoring in Chinese opera and he is an expert in Wushu martial arts. I think that he is a perfect candidate for any kind of costumed drama.
I think that Zheng Ye Cheng is too good of an actor for this kind of projects. This kind of C-rated-side-story-fantasy-fluffy-costumed dramas should no longer be on his portfolio.
*Nothing remarkable about the storyline itself; no surprise there because they produce tons of them every year... I just can’t help feeling that Zheng Ye Cheng is out place in it.
WTH... This is so cruel, How can he be white emperor of the heaven? So SF must be some immortal from heaven or…
What I am not getting yet is the interference of that manipulating heavenly emperor with the God of War/Mo Sha Xing‘s tribulations.
I thought it was a NoNo in Xianxia storylines that the heaven and the demon realms are not allowed to interfere with any tribulations in the mortal realm. This heavenly emperor is openly interfering... Good grief, he didn’t even bother to change his appearance.
Yeah, i agree with you, this drama is the best performance from Yuan Bingyan and Cheng Yi.
I am skeptical about a happy ending for them:( Since they are mortal enemies in their primordial forms and the heavenly emperor/sect brother always had eyes on her... Hemmm...
Up to episode 17, pace is good, acting is good and the storyline is not boring yet... We will see.
80 episodes long... With a new male lead who has nothing remarkable about him, except that he looks like an older brother or cousin of Feng Shaofeng. And with a new female lead who is as interesting as a door knob. Wow... Without the 2 original main leads; however how boring the original male lead character was in the first 2 seasons, this is going to be a real chore to watch...
*They should have used Xiao Zhan in this third sequel as the new male lead; since, he just did “Jade Dynasty” last year.
I was flip-table angry when I watched the last episode for the first time, but after watching it a few more times…
Anything to make the last 2 terrible episodes bearable, I will take it:)...
FYI: Historically, even after Liu Yi Kang was demoted to a commoner; he still refused to be exiled. So at the end, with the death of his older imperial sister, he lost her protection and was asphyxiated to death. *I am pondering if his imperial sister’s death was natural... Or was his prick imperial brother’s doing...?
That was a perfectly well executed review. I do agree that the sets’ decor, specifically Liu Yikang’s palace, was reminiscent of the Italian baroque style.
Yeah, the ending is so typical of Chinese dramas - unnecessary deaths that the writers are trying to make them…
I definitely agree with you on that point. I have also noticed this sacrifice theme in their historical dramas or should I say “This Chinese sacrifice ideology.”
Cheng Yi looks even better now than in his younger years in Noble Aspiration. The years just didn’t affect him at all. What the hell is his secret???
As for Crystal Yuan, for me, this is her best acting performance yet. She always had difficulty conveying her characters’ emotions. However finally in this Xianxia drama, she is doing a damn good job... So far... Ironically, her character is lacking her 6 senses... Hahaha...
This kid is adorable. He reminds me Leo Wu in his teens’ years.
I remember seeing him in “Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre,” playing the teen version, Zhang Wu Ji, of the adult male lead. His acting performance was actually much better than the adult male lead.

As I said, I don’t have to like them but I will support him all the way.
Let us support him however we can!!!

An eye candy with actual skills.
I am sold:)
