For me, I don't like or dislike the ending. It just feels like a deflated balloon.
Completely agree.

Yes, that "incompetent" Emperor later killed Liu Yikang, and he himself killed by his own son (true story). This…
If only Liu Yikang had became the emperor instead of that prick.
The Song Dynasty would have lasted a lot longer.

Title The Song of Glory Spoiler
I was flip-table angry when I watched the last episode for the first time, but after watching it a few more times…
He is going to get killed by his emperor/brother later on.
Let assume that Lige had already passed away; then, he knew that he was about to join her...
Maybe???

Yeah, the ending is so typical of Chinese dramas - unnecessary deaths that the writers are trying to make them…
Alright...
Alright...
No need to be so fussy; there was no point intended.
I will change it to “Chinese cinematographic directors and Wuxia/Xianxia writers are allergic to any kind of “NORMAL” endings...”

I know.
Historically, this dude was a mess.
- Could not defend his territory without the help of Liu Yikang.
- Killed Liu Yikang.
- And ironically, killed by his own son or rather chapped into pieces by his own son.

*I am thinking the reason why they never showed him in this drama... Maybe, they are just ashamed about that part of history.

He isn't the Emperor. It's just saying life goes on as usual for him. His reforms are implemented successfully.
NO.
That ending had no logic.

WTF, in eps 53, final ending......... why this drama tv series kill SLG, and make LYK to become the emperor ??…
I thought that he was going to do exactly that.
Give the regency to his younger brother.
Become a commoner and get the hell away with his wife.
On The Song of Glory Aug 13, 2020
What kind of ending was that?
It was like “Legend of Fuyao” all over again...
Confusing as hell...
They should have stopped at 51 episodes.

This was the most confusing, the most upsetting, the most unneeded and the most unnecessary ending since “Legend of Fuyao.”

*The never seen INCOMPETENT emperor was the biggest villain in this tragic, tragic, tragic historical drama.

Ok. It is confirmed.
Chinese cinematographic directors and Wuxia/Xianxia writers are allergic to any kind of “NORMAL” endings...
I am not even asking for a happy ending; I would have taken just a normal realistic ending.

Good grief!!!
They managed to destroy an unexpectedly pleasant historical drama in a matter of 2 EPISODES.

Yeah, all I can say is, for a Saintess and the "State Guardian".... the two leads really seemed quite useless…
In this costumed drama, his wig looked like they had run
out of wigs’ budget.
Unfortunately, XuXu drew the shortest straw...

This costumed drama has 3 main leads:
Li Xuan, Su You Lian and Li Xuan‘s wig...
LOL...

Yeahhhhh...
His character was nothing more and nothing less than an “Eye-Candy” with a horrible... horrible... horrible... wig.

Sorry XuXu:(

am i the only one who thinks the dragon emperor looks like Feng ShaoFeng?
This actor always has.
To me, he has always looked like some older brother or cousin of Feng ShaoFeng.

Great cinematography, martial arts, costumes, BGM and OST. About acting and cast not so sure. So, if anyone interested…
Agreed...
The pastel color pallets and both OSTs were really nice.

I love XuXu... Always has and always will...
However in this drama, his Li Xuan‘s character was hard to swallow for me.
His character was like the sad puppy love’s character from “The Legends” but minus all the brains, all the smarts and all the strength.

*The other thing that annoyed me was his only remaining family blood relative in that world (his dragon emperor/uncle) never approached his only nephew. I understood that the 2 clans could no longer interact because of their bloody histories but at least, the writers could have given us a scene where they are secretly meeting.

Going in and expecting so much more from Wu Jiayi...
However, her performance was not up to par in this one.
It was very disappointing.

This one is pretty bad even if you don't take it seriously.I'm guessing it's getting an 8+ (as of Aug 9 2020)…
I completely agree with you.
The Su You Lian’s character was completely awkward. Her character felt so out of place.

We had the male lead (XuXu) who was an emotional wreck...
At the opposite of that spectrum, we had the female lead (Wu Jia Yi) who was as dry as the Sahara Desert...

I think that they had better chemistry and better synergy together in Arsenal Military Academy. Even though, her character was not his love interest in that drama.

lol same i really think it is re-watchable and i really want to watch again for xu kai and wu jiayi (and prince…
Seriously,
It was like, “Cry me a river XuXu...”
I thought he was about to create a whole new Yellow River.
Way too many crying scenes for a male lead character.

I think it was a must for someone to die in this drama and it was pretty good timing in my opinion but I was just…
As I stated before, the understanding of the Leqing’s character is up to each viewer’s perception.

What I noticed with her character in the early episodes, even before Lige came into the story, it is an overzealous middle sibling who was overtly and exaggeratedly displaying her filial affections.
Those abundant displays of filial affection have always felt odd to me. Like, she was always fearing that she might loose it all at any second...

Then again, these are my own perceptions of her character; and obviously, not every viewer will agree with them.
As for my wording... For that, I have to say that was a first...:)
Hey, I am always open for improvements.
