The main couple kills that otherwise interesting storyline for me. What you find cute in their interactions; I find it silly and exasperating.
Although, the acting of the actor who plays Prince Idiot is passable; I can not stand the character he is playing. My take on the FL is “Hell, how did she manage to get that role?”
I am intrigued by the storyline; I just wish the 2 main leads were played by other actors and actresses.
Then again, I really don’t like these 2 main characters. Maybe a different writer with different concepts on those 2 main characters....

The combination of questionable directing, her stupid lines and her terrible acting habits give us one excruciatingly painful female lead. And Prince Idiot who is a total enabler is just the added bonus.
Too bad, the storyline is interesting. If we remove these 2 main characters, this fluffy costumed drama could have been one of the few good ones this year...
*Zhou Yi Ran, the actor who plays Zhong Li and Guan Chang, the actress who plays Consort Wen are the 2 most endearing and skilled actor/actress from this whole thing. They both deserve a spin-off story or some kinds...
