So very impressive! The fact that the production somehow managed to remake and to release this “bromance adaptation” of Addicted, Heroin… in mainland China… It’s in itself a tremendous achievement.
Then… Based on the original novel and the original drama adaptation, this newer montage is very well executed and this newer cast is phenomenal. I hope there is a second season to complete the story as in the original novel…. Even though China will always be bipolar China with their ever-changing-on-going-regulations.
FYI: Since “Stay With Me” somehow managed to get released… Maybe, there is still hope for “Immortality.”
For a remake of “Addicted Heroin…” I am pleasantly and surprisingly impressed. The undertones… The innuendos… The sexual tension… The BL vibes… Are definitely there; even though, they are not explicitly in-your-face as executed in the original version. We don’t even have to read between the lines. And the ever-so-wise little girl character is a wonderful addition to the storyline.
Yep. YY character kinda became inconsistent there. I thought she wouldn't leave him behind that easily when she…
Exactly the word that describes her character. Inconsistent. Her character was almost bipolar. One thing that she had amnesia but in the last episodes… She was so inconsistent throughout the entire thing that it was difficult for me to be convinced by her display of sorrow when he lost all of his powers to revive her.
And yes, she never apologized which pisses me off. Even the exasperated glorified guard dog of a god apologized to him at the end.
I am rather disappointed in Yinyin. Now, that she regained all of her memories of them together… I was expecting more understanding from her. At least, trying harder to convince Rouchen about keeping the 3 realms safe. Instead she showed more concern for the Ling guy. Which I have always been suspicious about their “friendship” during her amnesia phase.
As for Rouchen, although I don’t condone his new “I don’t give a F… about the world” phase. But I also understand him. Everyone used him all of his life and they expect him to sacrifice his life without telling him the entire truth. I bet if he had known the entire story from the start… His reaction would have been totally different. He would have gladly sacrificed himself and saved the 3 realms just to protect Yinyin.
FYI: Rouchen will probably do exactly that at the end.
I disagree, MTY isn't as bad as you've described in this drama. I've seen him in other dramas and wasn't impressed…
What I didn’t like… The initial episodes where Ma Tian Yu is playing the ever so playful Ji Ruo Chen. Unfortunately, Ma Tian Yu is known for his rigid, almost lifeless performances so those initial episodes felt very unnatural to me. Fortunately, his character showed some fast character development and growth after the initial episodes so the unnatural feel didn’t last long.
Ok… Let’s get this straight. This Xianxia deserves a much higher rating. Compared to the more expensive productions with the obvious popular fandom based actors and actresses that are released this year… This underrated one is kicking a$$.
I have to disagree. I was not a fan of MTY before watching this. I just started watching this because I like Angela…
Unbelievably… I actually agree with you on certain points. I love the protagonist leading couple because both are not the typical sacro-righteous characters. For me, showing all of their flaws without any shame nor justification is rather refreshing. Multi-layered characters have more depths. She has been nailing that role since episode 1. I am very proud of her.
Seriously… Exactly, what the casting department was thinking during their cast selection? They most definitely selected the wrong actor to play the ML. Ma Tian Yu is way too stiff to play playful, joyful and ridiculous characters. His portrayal of Ji Ruo Chen comes out so unbelievably not natural. And it doesn’t help that the ML’s initial introduction is a bottom-scum-of-the-earth…
What the hell happened to this drama? Every one of the writers, producers, directors went on strike? Including all of the great seasoned actors? And left a band of toddlers in charge of the production…
This drama started steaming hot.
Then, just a quarter in… All of the steams went MIA.
If they are still following the original novel’s storyline.
He came out from the coma with amnesia.
Hopefully!
Didn’t think it was for guys only…
Nor downright crude here…
That is a squeezing lubricant for the back door.
Hence, the small elongated dispenser cap.
That was a tube of lubricant not a lip balm😏
A lot of innuendos….
This version has more innuendos than in “The Untamed”☺️

All of the least promoted Chinese dramas with the lowest production budgets happen to be the best ones.

And that is your opinion not mine.
You are welcome to spread it however you want.

What the heck were they thinking?
I very much like XuXu’s hairstyle and some of his outfits.
Besides those…. The rest is just crap.
If you are a fan of XuXu…
You literally watch this for him.
And even with that… It is a stretch.
