There are studies of isolation and how it effects a person's psyche and they aren't positive. 15 years is a LOOONG time. How did she have 'street smarts' before getting stranded? 15 years(?) away from civilization when you're still that young, she wouldn't have had the social opportunities and experiences to develop certain skills or knowledge compared to someone her age who wasn't isolated.
