Chen Kun is fire.. !..This is very good, too good, unbelievably good. I'm not ready for it to end or end badly...I hope the whole journey is worth it.

C-dramas generally have the shittiest endings and this drama is no exception. Yes it’s a HEA, but a very disappointing…
I get you, I would have given a 10, I really wanted, if it wasn't for the second part of the last episode. Even though the last few episodes weren't ideal, still the leads were soooooo good, it didn't even matter that the show wasn't perfect(it almost was, really went there woth how good it was) But with that twist...10 would probably be too much. I'm glad no main character died because, with how most dramas are, I am even thankful I could sleep well after finishing this without crying myself to sleep lol(looking at you - Goodbye, My Princess)
As for true happy endings - The Long Ballad, Ashes of Love and Love and Destiny(although the last two had some twists in the last episode, too, BUT at least the main leads were in close proximity and not standing and looking at each other from a great distance because of Covid :)
Although, the most happy I ever was when I watched the ending of The Wolf. It was not supposed to be happy but my favourite characters got everything they wanted at the end, I was in a good mood and grinning for days, pure happiness there but only if you watch it for anything else but the main two leads haha
P.S. I started watching The Rise of Phoenixes and eventually will start The King's Woman so...goodbye, my happy endings ;(

Can someone recommend me a drama where the ML is just as manly and charismatic like Liang Yi? I hope there are…
Under the Power seems very well liked by all of you, I suppose it's really good. What stops me from watching as of now is entirely a personal preference - I don't really like the main actor, I always thought he has a baby face and looks like a child, I don't know if I can take him seriously(and the actrees has that appearance too). Maybe I'm looking too much in the details, but it just...bugs me somehwat lol I will give it more thought because of all the good reviews...thank you for giving the suggestions!
P.S. I'm really considering wathcing Rise of the Phoenixes because the great Chen Kun is in it(now, he is a true powerhouse) and I have yet to wat this already old drama...but seems well received

I drop this drama when they dubbed Jeremy Tsui's voice. I just don't understand why they must do that.
Oh no, was just going to watch it but if he's dubbed then...no :)

Thank you for the replies! I will check those dramas you mentioned as I haven't watched them. Still, I don't know if I will find anything I will enjoy as I enjoyed this drama. Maybe I'm picky , maybe there was something this series did just so good lol(Jeremy Tsui, I'm looking at you!)

I've read a lot of comments about the ending being disappointing, and I find that a pity, because I was wanting…
Up until the first 10 minutes of the last episode, I think you will mostly love it and feel satisfied(I mean, the last episodes are very different from the rest but still there are sweet moments). After those 10 minutes it becomes somewhat confusing and unnecessary but stil is considered a HE, but not properly executed according to many viewers, it could have been way better. It's not anything to be scared though, not tragic or open end

If you like Goodbye My Princess, you might like this one. Less angst, more comedy, and romance. Good writing and…
Both male leads in these dramas act so natural and draw in the audience. Both so good with the flirting part, with so much charisma <3 Although I must say, Jeremy Tsui stole my heart more, many factors for that but he is just so good here
Ji Chong in The Wolf was a similar charismatic character, too

My favourite episodes were when the leads were solving cases and also when the ML protected the FL in the brothel and then at his home(laughed so mich with the pretending part and watching them fall in love faster than before and it was very realistic). Somebody, bring that time back! Their chemistry was unparalleled, everything was so amazing! Episode 29 had great moments too(and parts of 28 <3)! And the beginning of the last episode. What a gem these actors were together, made the whole story 100 times better!

The writers/ director didn't give us that satisfying ending so QX and JX did! Lol. https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cayb8fhlZU9/?utm_medium=copy_link

Now for the big question of what to watch next!!
We can wait until the ML has another drama in which he plays the same hot, mature, humorous and amazing character but I don't think characters are often written good as that. Also, if it's not with his real voice -I'm not watching :)

The best ML ever. I didn’t think there was as manly as ZHW in the rebel princess but JT takes it. His eyes,…
Agree - the best ML ever! No doubts here, think he's the main reason I loved this drama so much. I have watched him in another drama but here he was just....criminally good lol Maube the chemistry with the actress added to that. (Their roles were also written very well and matched perfectly with the story)

I would have given 10 stars!! If it was done more gracefully...Still I give a 9 becauseee...
That is seriously THE BEST COUPLE I have seen in a drama! The chemistry of the actors was something I did not expect to ever see, just hoped! Their relationship was amazingly built, it was such a fun and emotional ride with them. A truly addicting drama. The ML especially shined for me.
Everything was so fresh and natural and their interactions flawed so easily and made you feel the hidden attraction and feelings - were the actors acting or did they really had a crush on each other? Because, um, too good, too beliavable. Would have been perfect if we had more scenes. I will miss them soooo much ;( What would I do for one more scene where I hear LY's deep voice agin....<3

It's not a scarily bad ending, it is happy but don't think it was done the proper way. Plotlines in the end consisted of too many things happening in just a few episodes and everything was rushed.

Some characters didn't get what they deserved and were actually rewarded for the inexcusable things they did.
Main characters acted as if out of character, talking about FL. Or there wasn't enough time to resolve the mess she created.
Still, the main thing they wanted to show with the last scenes seemed to be their resolve to finally live their lives as partners with one fate since childhood...never to seperate. It's ironic how they got to there...I guess life was their teacher and their own decisions?

Title The Autumn Ballad Spoiler
Can I ask - Did they end up together? Like, for sure together in a romantical way (as a couple and everything)?
I skipped just to watch the last scene without watching the episode - like, was it so hard to at least run to each other instead of standing there? Maybe the episode explains why they didn;t hug at least? I don;t know, seemed strange. I hoped for more ;(

If this ends how I want it to end (the HE the main leads deserve) I'm giving the series a 10, no questions asked. Haven't done it before but if everything is good then I call the drama perfect and will start comparing every future show to it. I will miss it forever
