He's smarter than most, always one step ahead, with a solution to land on his feet. He's scheming non stop. He had to in order to execute this whole scheme. So I do think there's a notion of control and that he's used to things going his way. Not that he can control Sheng per se but he does control situations : "I'll do this to make Sheng reacts a certain way, if he doesn't do that, I'll put plan b in motion..." And so on.

How I love this psycho! For all his craziness, HuaYong has this cute and innocent side. Sometimes his thought-process is like one of a child. He's got nerve asking Sheng why he doesn't want to see him again. It reminds me of a kid that doesn't understand why he's being punished for his bad behavior.
He's manipulative and a liar but also very honest in his answers. That's refreshing and quite funny. He's a complex red flag character you can't help loving.

Exactly. This ep focused too much on romance. I don't think Khem saying he likes Paran was earned. They had few interactions and during most of them Paran was unpleasant to Khem. I would have prefered him to say he's attracted to Paran but doesn't care for his attitude lol. Him trying the spell at the end was too much for my taste.
