No, from what I've gathered from those who bought the physical novel, ZX and ZZ are real. They even meet FC and GZ in the extra chapters.

While watching ep 6, I realized they deserve each other. They both are repressed and don't communicate properly. Fanfan doesn't say what he wants and waits for Bei to claim him while Bei doesn't express his feelings out loud but takes what he wants and drives the relationship.
The issue is that while Bei understands Fanfan and dotes on him, Fanfan is always guessing Bei's thoughts and motivations. He's not very smart (or should I say he's too innocent ?) to understand Bei loves him. Which is quite understandable after the 2 years "break up" with no explanation. Bei really needs to explain him why and what he did to secure their relationship.
Can't wait for Xiaofan's revenge against his family. They're worse than rats. He was so oppressed during their visit, they sucked the life out of him.

I think that's the point. This series is about attraction, passion. They both fell in lust at first sight 😂. They didn't have time to really develop their relationship because Little Jane started to listen to gossip and backed off. Mind you, Little Jane's mistrust is understandable, they don't know each other enough. Still, they're obsessed with each other.
The series will show us how they're gonna develop real feeling and trust.

Then good for him. He'll find another company in a couple of years. Life continues.

This series is so good! I love how messy it is : problematic Jane Patrick, dumb litte Jane, suspicious and annoying Dan.
Tee is fantastic in this role and so sexy it's unbelievable. I haven't been crushing this hard on an actor for a while. He's fck hot, especially in today episode.

OOC means Out Of Character. The characters personalities are presented a certain way, and after some chapters you have a good idea how they think and act. However, for the sake of drama, the writer makes them act differently from the way they usually behave. They do things that contradict their motives and/or values.

A lot of chinese BL I would say. I've read many BLs and the chinese one are really something else.
I'm used to toxic relationships and noncon but somehow it has to make sense within the storyline like in To My Shore, Abo Desire and such. But for the first time, while reading Deep In The Act, I felt it was so unnecessary to have GZ encounters SA and rape repeatedly.
Also, FC and GZ's actions are nonsense. I got emotional whiplash. You have to suspend disbelief completely to appreciate their story. I guess I couldn't do it.
Finally, the sex scenes are annoying and never romantic (I don't know why chinese authors think sex has to be rough and unpleasant for the bottom).

I really hope they drop the drama and focus on the real story because there's no way they adapted the BS I've just read about FangChi & GaoZhun' storyline.
The author must be crazy to write what they did. Rape romanticization, manipulation, cruelty, out of character actions left and right. Unbelievable.
Not gonna lie, at first I liked their story, it was intriguing and I could see the parallel between GaoZhun and Zhang Zhun but then for reasons I can't comprehend, the writer dived into rape porn : Gz is SA and raped multiple times by FC and others characters. GZ even dates his first rapist! I don't get the purpose of it all, it's just there, gratuitous and perverse. What a letdown.

Don't know where you're at but FangChi & GaoZhun's story is smut galore. And all over the place. I liked it at first but the writer lost me with the OOC.

This is a lakorn, the vilain is always over the top. Pond is doing what the director tells him to do. He's doing great as the annoying but funny antagonist.

They're spending too much time on the inside drama. The series only as 12 episodes and there are still many things to deal with Zhen Xin & Zhang Zhun's relationship. I don't believe we need 25min of inside drama out of a 40min episode.
