Yes, I agree the drama portrayed the relationships better :) When the director adapted the drama to be more realistic and changed it from "life of Go" to "life /with/ Go", it translated very well on screen. Not to mention the acting was really good too :)
For me the strength of the anime would be Go itself. I remember lightly watching it when I was young and I still remember the basic rules up to this day lol, and rewatching it now put me at the edge of my seat during matches. The anime and drama have different strengths which is so adorable and a win for all of us <3
I really like that scene as well! Shi Guang is just pure joy while Chu Ying is a very proud mentor, I think he was almost in tears :')

Hmm I mean in the part where YW fainted, YH brought him to the school nurse and they were talking about having a color rush. Then when YW woke up YH told him "I'm your probe blah blah"? Like, how did he know about YW's condition? Don't worry please feel free to spoil lol thanks :)

The ending is actually open-ended to a more hopeful note if you ask me, because even though they died, they made a promise to each other to meet again. And this is not entirely an empty promise because:
1. They both met at that timewarp thingy once which they say only happens like once in 10k years 2. They met in that timewarp AGAIN when they died, so their destiny together is SO STRONG it's breaking the normal rules of their universe
Also the ending scene cemented the fact that they are indeed in love with each other not in the "bro" type of way :)

If you're watching for the bromance, YES IT IS DEFINITELY worth watching. The two leads' chemistry is the strongest I've seen in bromance cdramaland, and tbh this IS romance even if they don't say it out loud. You'll know when you watch :)

Wow this is a very beautiful review, it has such a fresh take on the drama that I see for the first time. I, for one, also really appreciated the long 2+ episodes focused on SG's grief and didn't think it was too long, the guy really went through the 5 stages of grief! Yes it hurts to see such pain, but it hurts because it's realistic and it's how real people react to such loss :'(

2. Hikaru no Go: Arguably implied censored BL and just good vibes over-all. I highly recommend this tbh
3. Ultimate Note: Has good bromance, I haven't watched this yet tho lol
