Just rewatched ep 36 (cause what else are we doing so we don't go crazy) but that bed scene, Wu Lei deserves some mention as well. Cause he looks at her lips and groans evident by his closing his eyes and swallowing. The tension was so real. Such a great actor.
kekekekeke....comment section would be more fun if we were allowed to insert gifs and stickers
It would be a mess. Imagine coming and people just dropping gifs as reactions to the last episode, no context. LMFAO. Maybe they will hear our prayers.
Only thing I miss about it over Wetv. You knew someone had the same reaction as you and their comment would be deadass whatchu thought when the scene came on. It adds a layer to the experience fr tho. LOL
I’ll start with the things that bothered me. The engagement scene (please don’t come after me with pitchforks…
I definitely felt that they brushed over CSS and the tallies issue way faster than they needed too. I wanted him to actually blow and be mad for once, and show her hey this shit can't continue flying, you in the palace now and every drop has a ripple effect. Even on Weibo, people were complaining how that arc was really just to show that LBY is willing to do anything to protect her, which wasn't needed cause all his past actions have proven that to us already. However, in ep 36, I then realized that it was actually been part of his plan. He knows Crown Princess is using CSS and he knew CSS would try to salvage the situation. At the gate when they met after the argument, knowing his temperate he would have told her to get in the carriage and go home, if he really was adamant about her not getting involved. However, he sends her back to the palace knowing what she will do. Hence the night she makes the seals, he takes out his seals to replace them showing he premediated it. Then cut to the court scene, he uses the fake tallies "he had" CSS make as damn incriminating evidence that the Crown Prince wouldn't be able to save his useless uncle and family, which LBY has been trying to do for so long, but his plan getting botched one way or the other. Even the emperor can't save them like the last time with some grace through the CP. Now given the relationship between the CP and LBY have, there was never gonna be a way the CP would say who did it, cause that would be him burning the bridge with LBY if CSS gets in danger. So, him giving his tallies ends up not a big deal, because it's the same tallies as the CP ones. So the ones that went to war come back and are kept by the CP and the real ones, are retrieved by LBY himself and he keeps those. Man's cunning and smart, there is never anything he does that don't bring him closer to his goal. It's just that unfortunately on CSS it just becomes a cope out, however, I believe her big lesson is coming up in this week's episodes between her and LBYs consequences of revenge and the CP case will definitely open her eyes.
Do YS and CSS actually get engaged? Did LBY call off the wedding during the 5 year skip?
LBY executes his revenge maybe 2 days before their wedding, so they break up, and the wedding doesn't happen. He is exiled to the border. Time passes, CSS goes back into the palace, and she does end up getting engaged to YS, but not because she loves him. However, I wanna say like maybe a week or 2 after that engagement LBY comes back. At first he wants to leave them alone, but some events happen that make him decide nah, she is my woman and goes after her despite her status.
Guys, I just realized in ep 36 that when CSS asks LBY what happened to his finger. He looks away and sips the wine as a way to control himself. He was gonna blush thinking of their interaction and what does she do...kisses him, and puts him back in the blushing. Do you hear me screaming?
There are many scenes which director made a simple theme seem so profound and cause us to be invested - What are…
Mine are: 1. The under the bridge conversation, showed he really understood her already 2. The "inappropriate" meeting at the Luo's back garden before LBY goes to war 3. Obviously when he escorted her into the city 4. At their engagement party when she slips her hands around his arm and finally standing as a couple 5. The soup being delivered to the court for him in front of other officials
I think he's going to overthrow the crown prince, but my opinion is based on how he looked when the tiger tally…
I actually support him overthrowing the current CP. The current CP is somewhat dumb, has no spine of his own, and a great supporter of nepotism which is literally a bad thing if you want competent court officials. Just the whole tiger seal, must have been enough to show how stupid and gullible he is. How do you give a non royal seals that move the Emperor's Army? What happens if that person uses them to revolt? He is not wired to to rule a kingdom, which LBY acknowledges and is over him as well. There is only so much relying on LBY that as a CP he should do.
Good point and observation. Anyone can answer this?
CSS father is not a court official yet, hence he wasn't there. This banquet also served as a reward for court officials if you remember CSS convo with the Empress. It wasn't a family banquet, like where LBY proposed. Family banquets and court banquets are two very different vibes and rules.
*in LBYs voice when he says it to CSS*
*insert scene of CSS's shaking hands from LBYs training*
