Wow, episodes 35 and 36 left me in a sweet daze. My favorite thing, though, was CSS learning that she still can be her own person and live under "Zisheng's glory" cause it's hers as well. Then it became evident that she was ready to be one with LBY during the party. We could tell she came up with the idea and helped prepare the poem but then said Zisheng has a gift for the Majesty. That was truly heartwarming seeing them become one. Anyway, back to the 4-day dry spell. Wishing ya'll a good survival strategy, and may the withdrawal symptoms be less. LMFAO.
The latest episodes have been using one of my most hated drama tropes: Dumbing down the FL and other characters…
That's why when the tried to turn it into some romantic feat I was nah. I wanted LBY fuming. Not him apologizing. Your response articulates what i couldn't. They deviated from her character to create a romantic gesture, which just ended up flat cause people were riled up about her stupid ass move. Them comments on Weibo are cooking the scriptwriter for this blunder. Love to see it 😂😂
I heard that the whole fake tiger seal deal was not in the novel but the scriptwriter's inclusion.
Yeah and people are fuming, cause honestly it made no fucken sense. It was such a useless move. I don't even know how they will reconcile this, cause now most people just pissed at CSS. LMFAO.
This is the first time the script writers somewhat disappointed me. SS actions are not consistent with what we…
I totally get their anger. As I mentioned before, this scene was really out of character with what CSS has portrayed. She likes doing petty revenge that won't be hard for her to wiggle or defend herself. Heck, she accepted LBY's proposal because she was aware of the gravity of the King's influence and possible outcome. So for her to then just make seals that could behead the very family and people she wants to protect is out of character. So I get it. Additionally, I think what's frustrating is how they glossed it over. Normally LBY confronts her on these things, and they have an actual conversation about what she just did. But this time, all of a sudden, it's just head nods and body language, then cut to her realizing LBY's sacrifice. There wasn't even a scene to show her reflection on the actions as in other episodes. So I guess that's why many people are like WTF, 'cause it made it seem like she didn't care how she got out alive.
I think they will use it as a way to get rid of the CP and his wife's clan??
I presume, he finds the real seals through investigation and uses it to futher his revenge, and probably the CP will own the mistake and not implicate LBY. The Emperor will send him to exile as part of the punishment. We will see, this why I get anxious cause scriptwriters can absolutely destroy a story that made sense in the name of adding their own flair. LOL
I am enjoying the various views and takes on CSS. It shows that they have managed to create a character that is very dimensional and intriguing to watch. Which is very rare for FL in some of these period dramas. Excited to see how we take in LBYs character in upcoming episodes. LOL
Same drama but different mindset. We can't root for her when she's in the wrong. Especially when it's LBY warning…
This!!! You took the words out of mouth. People don't want her to change completely, however, even in real life people learn to code switch depending on the environment you are in. I don't go twerk in church. I twerk in the club. (Sorry for the dumb analogy but hope it works). She is now in the palace were, trivial things have a ripple effect that can bring down a whole family, she literally saw how her "little conversation" with the CP affected things in the court. Heck, let's say she hasn't learnt to be considerate of LBY, her family could have been chopped off for those fake seals she made. Every single peasant knows, it's a grave sin to lie to the King. She understood this during LBY's proposal hence why she accepted. Hence, her doing something this big seems too much for a girl who thinks she is witty and smart enough to defend her loved ones. Right now, part of the issue that's frustrating people is that she is now doing all these shenanigans cause she knows she has backing. During that proposal she acted accordingly to the gravity of the situation because she didn't have anyone backing her. Yes, LBY told her he would protect her, but come he also told her don't keep testing waters, cause one day you will be in deep trouble and he couldn't even save you. She has been in the palace for many months now, and has done nothing to show some level of growth in understanding the complexities of royal life. Rather, she keeps thinking very one dimensionally to everything which isn't how the palace works.
so much LBY slanderðŸ˜maybe i’m just a LBY defender at heart but i don’t think he is as bad as ppl make him…
I think the tide is currently against CSS. Her development is rather slow. LBY took her to his mom, that alone is so much development in being vulnerable to CSS.
I had a character question. I was under the impression that Old Princess Ruyang is the actual aunt of the Emperor…
I think the uncle is the actual blood relative, and hence why when the uncle gave the green light to get rid of her, the Emperor was like welp let her be gone. Which, also explains why when the king needed help in any way before he was king, she never jumped out to help him, cause he wasn't of benefit to him, but the uncle was willing to defend to death for him.
My highlight from ep 34 was how CSS actually took steps toward LBY and was shielded by him during the final takedown. Like they both achieved what they wanted, and even though she was headstrong, she still allowed herself to walk up to her man and be guarded by him during the women's meltdowns. Then LBY just casually offers his hand, and she takes it and rests her head on him, like a little girl who is hiding from the trouble she just caused. That alone was evidence of some level of growth in feelings in her cause in the past, she would have rather stand her ground than be next to him. She is no longer scared of him and actually is enjoying being by his side. LOVE TO SEE IT.
This is the first time the script writers somewhat disappointed me. SS actions are not consistent with what we…
There is definitely a bigger agenda in regards to those seals. However, still as OP mentioned it really isn't in her character to not be calculative of risks and losses. These days she is just doing things without thinking about consequences cause she knows she has backers. When she didn't have backers she weighed risks and losses. So it's frustrating for many of us, cause she keeps operating in nobody is here for me, when now she even has bigger risks and she knows that.
I was so pissed off by CSS in episode 33. I understand that she wants to protect people who are "good" to her but come on, girl. Even a peasant knows deceiving the King is a grave sin, yet she goes ahead and does it. Does she think if shit hit the fan, that couple would defend her? Hell no, they won't. So honestly, I just want it to be damn time she learns a lesson the hard way. Cause if LBY continues to cover her tracks, she will never learn. I think that was just so frustrating for me even to enjoy the rest of the episode. LOL.
Last night episodes, apart from LBY unfairness, I think Emperor is the one at fault for destroying LBY planI didn't…
I get you. Unfortunately, in royalty disposing of a CP was ominous unless a grave sin was done. He necessarily hasn't committed a grave sin worthy of being stripped off his title. That's why it makes it hard, like yes he has all these weak qualities but in the King's mind he thinks so long he has loyal subordinates i.e LBY he will be fine. Also we all know the king is the kind that holds on to feelings and sentiments and if we are honest has been able to stay in power cause of LBY and Consort Yue. So his move wasn't out of the blue and unfortunately he is the "god" so noone can question him.
2. We learn the way this King came to power was through commoners and powerful families support. He is very humble and down to earth and hence why he is even so lenient with his own family, cause for him right now the important thing is maintaining peace. So the royal members all being aloof with one another plays along with the culture and environment sent by the
King.
3. I think you have to realize that Lady Ruchang going on the public fiasco like she did was undermining the King as pointed out by Consort Yue. She was doing it in front of the King's subjects at a wedding arranged by the King. If you were to follow a more strict king, that woman's head would have been chopped off right there and then. But once again, the King is a people's person. He wants peace. Hence why his women had to clean the mess and do it in public as a warning to others who undermine the King.
4. CSS standing up to them in that way is reasonable in the way her character is written. If you want to look at it at a grounded level it makes sense. LBY doesn't acknowledge them as family, his filial belief only belongs to his mother, and as a son of the king, he has the power to speak in a more downright manner. Which CSS as his fiancee can also do.
5. Additionally CSS just ends up being a pawn as well. Cause if you noticed, the royal family including the King has been trying to cut the Auntie's power and influence in the family, which is why everytime she shows up Yue shows up cause she has the balls. CSS now happens to be the 2nd person in the family with balls as well. You think the King allowed LBY to marry at his bride's house (contrary to customs of it being at LBY's manor) just cause? No. It was a well calculated move by the royal family cause they knew the two would show up and make a ruckus and that would give them
the perfect opportunity to get an upper hand on her.
Lastly this is a drama, a depiction of someone's imagination. Obviously bothing is gonna follow all the proper etiquette. 😩
Additionally, I think what's frustrating is how they glossed it over. Normally LBY confronts her on these things, and they have an actual conversation about what she just did.
