okay. i hope you wishing zmy well is genuine because it seems that to you, no one else can top zls and her dramas. i brought up gen z and hu tong as some of her dramas that were not well received by the public, i did not compare, perhaps you miscomprehend as i just set an example that zls ALSO has dramas with underwhelming performances (even some of zls fans admit this). gen z, for one, may have won an award as you said but this can't change the fact that the public don't really like it and was heavily criticised for wrong portrayal of chinese medicine.

i greatly like zls in love like the galaxy but was not able to do the same on her other dramas for various reasons, actors and actresses can't really have an all good drama list throughout their careers as it's inevitable to have bad ones due to lots of factors. no one can be the best at everything and not everyone who criticise a drama is a hater, this is such a fanatic mindset.

there are several chinese dramas being released and zmy is just starting to get lead roles in decent productions, she can be considered as a newbie tbh and it is understandable that her works will not be as popular. china has lots of actors and actresses and it should be acknowledged that even the 'famous' ones like zls have dramas that did not do well in china – gen z and hu tong for example - if you're gonna say that this certain actress's dramas flopped. otherwise, it will just sound as blatant bias.

p.s. ratings on youku and iqiyi can be unreliable as it is said that these can be bought, fans can also affect the scoring even in douban

this is what i was thinking, too! female lead's best friend has this chaotic energy which would also suits zmy and from the pictures here, it seems that zmy is mostly filming in solo frame or with wen yifan.

agreed. first frost is also one of my fave modern novels. it has well-written characters, story is lighthearted with depth.

it's safe to say that his hidden love personality is exclusive to sang zhi and his family. he's distant, nonchalant and quite arrogant generally – readers probably hated him at first because of how he treats the female lead but later on, you'll realise that he's actually a softy deep down.

i don't get the hateful words against an actress, i get you're a fan of zls but you don't have to step down on other actresses to put her high on the pedestal. saying zls haters made wifty known is so wrong, lots of people like it because it just had that good vibes.

i know bjt is one of the actors we can consider good at acting in china but when they announced bjt as the male lead, i actually don't quite imagine him as sang yan because he have this sort of 'clean look'. i like that they changed his hairstyle, he gives off the vibes now – quite surprise with the resemblance.

the worry of novel readers is that the adaptations will ruin the image we have for the characters and this is what actually happens in the case of sang yan in hidden love. i only read first frost and was kinda bothered by how different sang yan is in hidden love. tho i understand that it's because it's from different perspectives as well (sang zhi's and wen yifan's), the contrast is huge that i think it's best to treat these two as non-related tbh.

i first saw her in scent of time and thought that she's soooo pretty AND she's good at acting, too! wishing her a huge success. ❤️

thankfully, i still prefer fluffiness even if i'm already on late twenties lol tho i do watch chinese historicals for some occasional dose of sadness and depression. 🥹

i've liked zy since i watched her in scent of time and so, i decided to follow her works and found this. i was actually hesitant to watch since there's a lot of review saying it's boring but i'm glad i did try, reminds me of reading pure fluff chinese novels. rather than boring, i'd say it's just free of drama. it's sooo light-hearted, a really good casual watch.
