Telling Fu Rong this would have made the chat more meaningful; that Consort Shu hopes FR sees how much her introvert son loves FR.

Granted, I do like this kind of misunderstanding when the ML gets heartbroken by the FL. Pretty devastating imo. He went through so much and thought they were going to be happy together. Next thing he witnesses her using his trust against him to kill him.

Her redemption arc better be good; she better make it up to him. Better not be her whining like a spoiled brat like at the end of ep 20. She loves to listen and trust other people's words but disregards the one guy who has gone through thick and thin with her.

I don't think An cares about what they all think. He's blinded by revenge so he's probably thinking after he gets rid of them all, he can take possession of Fu Rong and keep her by his side -- regardless of status. He has an unhealthy obsession with her.

No. QiQi made the whole thing up to try to steal the ML. He didn't cheat; got passed out drunk and fell asleep. QiQi took him back and was about to kiss him but stopped when ML was calling out FL's name. QiQi eventually left the room.

I like strong, smart FLs, but not when they're annoying. She's clearly in the wrong at the end of ep 7 but continues to act like a spoiled brat after a weak apology. Then the ML (an army General) has to concede instead and make it up to her as if he was the one who did wrong. Trivial misunderstanding; lazy writing.

I think it was still worth it. He's much colder in s2.

I don't know what the ML sees in the FL. Sure, they have their sweet moments -- when the FL isn't a bitch. She gets hung up and narrow-minded about "her dream and being successful on her own" that she disregards her family and friends. Yes, every writer wants to be a JK Rowling but let's be honest, without his quiet support in the background from the beginning, she would still be a small-time writer. So, let's say her novel becomes a movie but is it worth her love and friendships?

Her character sucks because she gets weaker, more dense, and idiotic; lack of character growth.

Gotta admit; the jealousy and arguments are things you'd see in life.

Strangely, Xu Kai's emotional scenes from The Legends tugged at my heartstrings. I can only imagine he is even better at it now.

I think they wrote the Princess well; she was an antagonist but you can empathize and understand why her character was the way she was.

Definitely worth the watch. Fair Xing is really good; hope to see her in more costume dramas. Ma Xi Er too.

I agree. First time watching her was in Ever Night... It was like watching a minor in those romantic scenes... I had to drop that and just avoid anything with her as the FL. She's a good actress but I don't want to watch a child-looking-character as the lead.

They're like a mixed up Guo Jing (calm and naïve) and Huang Rong (outgoing and intelligent). He's calm and intelligent while she's outgoing and naïve.

Yeah, it really has been an enjoying and fun ride. I am pleasantly surprised how much I like this drama.

There's a reoccurring theme of her reading others and trusting the ones she firmly believes trustworthy. Does not always pay off but when she is correct, they pay off in a big way. So, I thought that's one interesting aspect of her silly but wise character.
