I’ve watched a lot of YT clips re the purported drama ending and this one feels to be the most legit one so…
the explanations given mostly tally with the previews thus far and what's been aired from Ep31-36. And the scene of LXY going to jail looks legit with the vest on, exactly like what LYZ had on as well. FL being suicidal is already featured within EP31-36, including her recovery. The evidence gathered against LXY was also covered in EP36, and LYZ's decision not to use it was also mentioned there. The only part missing and not featured yet is the part about LXY going to jail. So, yes, the link your provided seems solid! Thanks.
i clicked the link, but it was about another drama video ?
my bad I posted the wrong link, I've corrected it. Yes, the scenes aren't completely accurate, after all the wedding hasn't been shown yet but the narrator is explaining what happens (hopefully it's accurate).
no, i've watched this clip and it's the preview of 40-41 episode
Tbh, I'm dragging my feet to watch E31-36. I think I'd rather wait till next week when the rest are out. I can't stand all the ding-dongs that's going on between them. I know why it's happening, just don't wanna watch it for now. LOL But for what's being shown on EP40-41 as a preview and the other video I posted about a wedding, perhaps it will be worth your wait.
Someone did a commentary about the ending of the drama (don't know how true it is). There's mention of a wedding, that LYZ marries DXS in a high profile wedding. And somehow Shang Guan ends up being DXS's maternal family (it's not explained so I suspect at the wedding, DXS finds out that Shang Guan is a relative on her mother's side?)
Someone is on the line with DXS, telling her that she's worried DXS won't be able to cope in the period that she's not around. So, she's gone and found her a FOC assistant. The person should be at DXS's door by now and it's someone she will fancy/settle upon. DXS hears the doorbell and says the person has arrived, and bids the other person on the phone, good bye. It's LYZ at the door. He offers his greetings, and tells her that he's here to learn from DXS. She says her studio/work is so small that there's no way it can afford/house a bigshot like him, and tells him to leave, and not to make things difficult for her. He pleads with her to give him a chance, to let him try for 3 months, then 1 month, then 10 days. Next scene, she tells him to photocopy 10 sets of a document and he falters, she asks him what he's doing there standing around. Then he asks her where to get the photocopying done (you can tell she's giving him the evil glare, LOL). He makes a hasty exit and tells her not to worry, he'll be back soon. Next scene, he's cooking and she's complimenting him for being able to cook well. She adds, that many girls will like this (about him) and he says he won't know he's never done that for anyone else. Next scene, she asks him why he doesn't understand her. She says before this, she would be willing to take on jobs for very little pay/compensation, could 'vomit blood', stake her life on it, even now it's still the same. LYZ calls out to her and asks her if being persistent is so important to her? And she replies, Yes, of course. LYZ says, this is such a good project, given other designers, they would never relinquish the opportunity. And she says you are right, you are talking about other designers, I am not them, I am DXS. Last scene (at the beach), he tells her that after being with her, he realises that love can be so simple, even a little ordinary. What he wants is to lead a carefree life, while holding her hands, watching the sunrise and sunset (of that place) together. He tells her that she no longer has to make anymore sacrifices for him and she won't have to go against her own innermost desires, because he would change for her. If she wishes to remain in Shanghai, he will accompany her there. If she wishes to go to Paris, he will remain here while waiting for her return. From this point on, no matter where she wishes to go, he will cross/traverse the world, following her. He tells her to hold his hand, give him the chance to take care of her for the rest of her life. And he asks her if she will let him do that.
She tells him that he asked her to wait, that he made her guess, but she's not a round worm in his stomach, she can't guess what he is thinking. Next we see him hugging her and telling her that he never intended to leave her, and does she know how long he had to wait before he finally has the opportunity to hold her like this. But she doesn't tell him what she thinks, it's only her thoughts that we hear, she's grateful that he comes clean finally with her but she says she's just too tired now, and she needs time to calm down. Maybe it's best that they are only friends. Next scene with HQF, he's giving advice to LYZ to give chase to DXS. He says that he's someone who has been there and done that (in terms of love). Happiness and pain occur about the same time (sth to that effect). Happiness tends to be more fleeting but pain tends to last. So if you don't give chase, pain will just twirl it's tendrils around you until it wears away the love you both have. LYZ asks if he has to take the initiative to give chase and HQF says of course. LYZ asks how to chase? HQF replies that he's got to put more effort into it. Then asks if they have both talked things out? Next scene, DXS bumps into LYZ. He asks where she's going and she says to stand-in for someone (like a substitute). She looks at his tie and he asks what she's looking at, he informs her it's the tie she gave him. Then he tells her that the things he likes, he will use it/wear it.
Thanks a bunch for the detailed elaboration of how things are going to be in the next eps as I already can't wait…
You know, I've got this gnawing feeling about what's going to happen? LYZ solves the corporate takeover, and things go back to normal in his company. He tries to reconcile with DXS but our girl is still as confused as ever. She packs her bags and leaves to study / travel abroad, something she's always wanted to do and this time round, LYZ misses sending her off at the airport. Several years later, she comes back and they bump into each other by accident at a meeting/function. Its akward, he approaches her and from there on, only do they start a proper relationship. possible you think? It' the route that many a K-drama has taken, and the book ending is rumoured to have had her leave but for different reasons, so in the drama, they make her leave too.
I cheated and watched bits and pieces of EP36, so the scene from the trailer was the last part featuring DXS and LYZ. Somewhere prior to this DXS collaspes (was ill) and was admitted to the hospital. LYZ quietly visits her without her knowledge, pays for her hospital bills, and follows her to meetings with Clients. Until one day she manages to capture him red-handed and tells him off. She tells him that this 'method' of caring for her is not what she wants. If he truly cares for her he should give her a phone call or send her a text message. She asks him if he enjoys seeing her so miserable, wondering how he's doing and not knowing anything at all. (in another flashback, his ex-gf also points out that what he's doing to DXS is only making her more miserable, it ain't really caring for her like the thought). He thinks about it, but doesn't do anything. Essentially, the focus until the end of E36 is about how he's going to save the dad's company from being acquired. But after the scene described above (which was at the start of EP36), then mid-way we get to see the scene from the trailer where HQF leaves the phone on and lets LYZ hear what DXS has to say. After that, there's no further interaction btwn the two. What we do know is that things look unfavourable, no one is able to help LYZ fight against the corporate raider. But ZR's mother comes to the rescue with a document, it's a Group Trust Fund that LYZ's dad set up. It's not explained why she's been keeping it but she tells LYZ that it's up to him what to do with it. I think we can intrepret it as he can see fit what to do with the money. Last thing that is shown from EP36 is that LYZ and another director are holding an emergency board meeting regarding the corporate takeover.
lol I was racking my brain for that phrase 'noble idiocy'. Slipped my mind for some reason. For this guy, it's his silly way of protecting her, after all it's his battle to fight, not hers. I don't know what are the stakes at the moment based on the course of action he has taken. Is it just losing his father's company? Or will he get into trouble again, like go to jail based on the action he has chosen? If so, he thinks that by alienating her, and things go wrong, she is free from him. But he still doesn't realise how determined DXS is. {though I think that conversation which HQF cleverly let him easedrop on should make him realise what sort of person she is.] As for her, I think she has seen what he's like when he wants her out of the way. And since he's not wallowing in guilt or giving up, she's ok with that. You know, apart of me wonders whether she harbours a little guilt about being in a relationship with LYZ, given that she was so emotionally involved with ZR. It's not depicted so far in the drama, but I think they ought to have a conversation with her and him (at the cemetary) asking him if he's ok for her to be in a relationship with his best friend/bro. That would make more sense, given how she couldn't put her relationship with him down in the first 16 episodes or so.
Agree, I hope he sees that as fulfilling one of his father's wishes. Though, I hope the drama will show how she overcomes her own self-esteem issue/insecurities. Those have to be dealt with by herself, it won't do her good to expect him to make up for it.
already halfway in the drama and this is definitely worth the wait ;;A;; I just really don't like the female lead's…
she really isn't a very exemplary role model. But in reality I think there are girls like her in real life, who desire for material wealth and expect the other half to provide that for stability and perceived happiness. So, I think the portrayal of SQ is realistic, just not so likeable as a drama character. However, her character just go through some self reflection and self awareness towards the later part of the episodes. So she does become a better person.
[the context is that DXS is concerned with LYZ and asks SQ to invite HQF out to dig for information. SQ teases her about being so intoxicated with LYZ that she cannot extricate herself from the situation, there is no cure for her in short. At the meetup, SQ asks if the acquisition is complete? DXS tells her not to be ridiculous, it can't be so quick, as the process has just started. HQF confirms that yes, this is the case but LYZ is coping with the situation. Judging by the situation, SQ says the other company is larger with more firepower and will be able to take over LYZ's dad's company easily. DXS asks how LYZ is doing. HQF says that LYZ remains positive about things and has figured out how best to handle this acquisition. DXS says she is glad to hear that]
She then gives the amulet that she got from a temple (typical Chinese thingie) and passes it to HQF. She tells him to keep it a secret, not to tell LYZ that she was the one who got it for him. HQF asks her why not pass it directly to him? She says if were to pass it to him, he might not accept the amulet. She replies that LYZ has been avoiding her, she can sense it and she doesn't know why, but believes that he must have his reasons for doing so. So, she doesn't want to disturb him. She goes on to say that all she wishes for him is that he is safe, healthy and that things go well/smoothly for him. Everything else does not matter (meaning their relationship).
agree with your gut feel of the drama's likely ending. Doesn't look like it will turn out that way. Saw a bit of the trailer from E32-36 and feel that there's a bit more maturity in how DXS handles herself now, preferring to trust that LYZ has his own reasons for being aloof and the scene where she caught him with the ex-GF, she explained to SQ that they are both adults who can conduct themselves well. With such mature conversations, I'm hoping the scriptwriter maintains the character development for both leads. It would be tragic (for the characters) if they really went down that route of rage, anger and shame.
Thanks for the explanation. Based on the purported ending in the novel, I doubt he will force himself onto her? And she won't have a child out of wedlock? I think it's more a corporate/power struggle looking at the direction of the drama now?
looks like there is no end to the will we or won't we be together issue (of course this is to check all the boxes in a melodrama). I hope this doesn't only get sorted out in episode 40 and viewers are only treated to them being together in E41. But at least, our ML gets to hear from the horses' mouth how the FL feels about him, and how confident she is in him and what he is doing. LYZ and DXS, hwaiting!
