I'm from Europe and I can't understand why in China people want to know everything about an actor's private life.…
Thank Americans for creating the celebrity culture as it is. There are some countries that hold America as the pinnacle of accomplishment in the arts and they must follow suit and do what America does. Not always a good idea. In my country we don’t put actors on pedestals. We leave them alone in public. To bother them would be impolite. At the end of the day there are others far more worthy of our praise.
It's cute.It would be better if the story is better, after half it is somewhat a little bit boring. It would be…
I must agree. They could have easily lopped off four episodes as nothing of significance took place in a few episodes. It got boring and I was racing to finish it so I could start something new. But that’s how the story was written. I was impressed with the ending because it illustrated what good heads all four daughters had on their shoulders. And their mother can take credit for that. I loved the scene where she was summoned by the Dowager Empress and quickly put her in her place by stating she raised her kids to be able to make their own choices. Cue pickled lemon in DE’s mouth! 😆
Did everyone catch the preview for final episode? Seems a lot of bad stuff happens. As long as Jaden gets his due, I will be satisfied with any ending. That being said, I cannot see a kidnapper being allowed to adopt the kidnapped. But this is fiction.
What a clever girl by setting him up for her murder! I was surprised at first that he caught on. Now I feel so sorry for his wife. I enjoyed Wu Lian's back story but it missed the target in explaining his treatment of women.
Meng Wan's mother is just awful. She's hellbent on making her daughter live as bad a life as she does. The woman…
That is how the novelist wrote those characters. Her mother only knows that she does not want her daughter to have the same miserable life that she did. And in her mind getting married to a good man is the only path to a happy life. She does not want her daughter to be forever struggling on her own. Her heart is very much in the right place.
Let’s put this drama in its proper perspective. Meng Wan, along with the nine others she , have one thing in commun: Wu Lian has ruined their lives in devastating ways. While they are avenging Ru Lan’s death, they all want revenge on Wu Lian. Meng Wan has to wait until Captain Liu XIn gets out of jail before she can put her plot into motion. Once reunited, together they go about recruiting the others. Each recruit is shown in current times, allowing them to speak of their hatred of Wu Lian. Details of what took place in the past are crucial in understanding the depth of their need for retaliation. Wu Lian was one clever, nasty piece of work. And they need to tell somebody. In some cases, they find out their suffering was shared by others. So flipping back and forth from present to past is a necessary evil. The characters are easily discernable in each time frame.
