This is the only way I can explain it without ruining it entirely. There are four people somehow related to each other in the castle. Let’s call them siblings. The youngest sister is involved with the emperor. The emperor has a wife. FL has been engaged to a Crown prince since birth. The youngest brother has had a crush on her for ages but it’s unrequited. The eldest sister has long-held deep feelings for the crown prince. While in the palace she is pretending to be a princess. The real princess is in love with one of the place guards.
There’s another woman who is involved with the son of one of the bad guys, who lucky for is not like his father. They liked each other upon meeting. The rest were long-standing relationships or crushes so it’s not possible to know who liked who first.
I cannot foresee a season two given how the drama ends. All loose ends are tied up and nothing is left unexplained. Given that the story is loosely based on a real emperor, an extra season would require pure fiction.
