My first "gaming" drama and I loved it! I started Love O20 because of all the hype and high ratings but ended…
Okay am gonna try this now after reading your Comment cuz well I dropped Love O2O and Go Go Squid and tbh the only CDrama that I liked is Put Your Head on My Shoulder despite after watching (droped 90% midway) almost 70 Cdramas. Idk Cdramas aren't just my cuppa tea lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜¬

why?
Hmm.... cuz that drama is like 100times more slower and depressing version of Pretty Noona who buys Me Food that came out in 2016 was written and directed by same guy and starred Jung Hae-in too.

Me:- πŸ˜΅πŸ€•πŸ˜±πŸ˜° when I just saw One Spring Night and My ID is Gangnam Beauty as "Comfort Drama". Don't even think about watching One Spring Night when you're feeling depressed or stressed... that show will make you want to end your life (πŸ€―πŸ˜–πŸ˜₯😨).

I agree with you! Except CLoY I haven't watched a show since last year which had an amazing chemistry like SWDBS or those heart melting, aww grasping moments like DOTS, Goblin, While you were sleeping which made my heart beat so fast! Since the beginning of 2019, more and more dramas started having similar plotlines and I know that it was like this earlier too when every single show had Rich Guy Poor Girl concept going with one long life crush by second lead and a stooge Mother-in-law character throwing money/water on FL but now shows seldom focus on the Romance Quotient like Itaewon Class is good drama the only drama on my watchlist right now but it doesn't have any romance ?.

I know that the writing has improved and so has the budgets and nowadays stories are more sorted having less loopholes than the older dramas but my drop rate i.e. the dramas that I drop has also gone up.

The best time I had was during 2016 end to 2018 end when I was new to Kdramas and the dramas were seeing some drastic changes in the way they were made and had those fine stories with awesome OSTs, great locations, cinematography and above all made in heaven couples with a chemistry to die for! The last that I watched like that was What's wrong with secretary Kim in mid 2018 and after that only CLoY deemed fit to get that tag!

My first drama was DOTS back in mid 2016 when it was broadcasted in my country and it still took me another 6 months to watch my 2nd drama after discovering Gong-yoo through Train to Busan and then watching Goblin and then started my journey of watching Kdramas like SWDBS, While You were Sleeping, Weightlifting Fairy, Legend of the Blue Sea, Fight My Way, I hear your Voice, W, My Love From Another Star and Healer and these are my all time favourites and still watch them on loop like just yesterday I watched SWDBS for the 100th time (li'l exaggerated ?).
And I am not saying that the shows that came after 2018 were less entertaining or inferior to the dramas that came from 2016-2018 but it's just that genuine Rom-coms were missing from the plethora of dramas.

While dramas which came after mid 2018 like 100 days my Prince, Hotel del Luna and Melting me softly were either disappointment or weren't that good like del Luna lacked chemistry for me!
The dramas that came especially after SKY Castle were more focused on social issues or belonged to Crime/Thriller Genre and even those which were so called Romance Dramas failed miserably.

The 2016-18 dramas were commendable for various reasons like they had newer fresh concepts, had less clichΓ©s, no misogynist aspects instead SWDBS and Weightlifting Fairy focused on stronger Women getting loved by not so strong Men and these showed that Love really is Blind. And above all these dramas surprisingly had no Bitch Mother characters instead Parents of Leads were supportive in their children's choices.

TBH I still miss those Heart Fluttering dramas which every single time made me feel so single AF! Yet still I went back to find solace and fulfill my craving for that Romance which can blind people!
Sorry for such long comment! Hope to come out of slump soon?.
