I can't even believe myself that I seriously watched this series while it was on air and I liked it back then except the brother's screentime π€. Now I can't even imagine myself re-watching this lol ππ¬
There is this 2014 J drama that never age in my heart, like in my opinion, it's still one of the best simple stories…
Thank you so much for recommending these. Turns out that I've watched Chugakusei Nikki and that show was totally something new for me back then cuz of it's premise. I'll check out the other shows soon!!!
True I agree! But I believe that writers still has the most to do plus I recognised a pattern/style in the writers…
Yup I agree that's the case with the writer of Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food aka Something in the Rain and One Spring Night both were written and directed by the same people and had pretty much same cast too. I believe that's the reason behind one channel collaborating with a few regular writers/directors and actors again and again since I feel it's definitely easy for them to get along on their creative field and abilities. To me it always seems like a drama or a movie indeed is a collaborative work but only as a collab between higher execs and overrrated cast members and production team then it's all marketing to promote that drama. Like how it shows up in the Trailers lol π Music by this guy story by that guy starring an A-list actor and telecasted on A-list Popular Channel.
I totally agree with your analysis of Kim Eun-sook and Lee Woo-jung. And I feel that some writers are really overrated but thanks to Netflix some of the more underrated one's are getting their fair share now and these overrated one's will gradually fade away take Kim Eun-sook for example her last drama went flat on it's face in South Korea despite casting popular faces which again are so overrated.
On a side note since the writer has mentioned a lotta Japanese Writers and am in a slump rn π can I have some Japanese Drama Recommendations? I have just watched only one or two Jdramas. Can't even recall their names π
I just couldn't get outta my comfort zone since Jdramas feel a lil inferior to Kdramas in Production Quality and Visuals even though I know they have better scripts. Just FYI I have watched a lotta Popular Japanese Movies and Animes.
One thing I get from this list is that the writer LOVES Moon Chae-won π Lol I love her too but I barely have seen others mentioned in the list especially thai actors.
I ship Park Hyun-sik and Park Bo-young so hard ever since SWDBS.
Apart from them I ship the following couples (just fyi I don't ship them in real life but wanna see em in dramas)
Lee Joon-gi and Moon Chae-won Lee joon-gi and IU Song Joong-ki and Park Bo-young
Dream Pairs that I'd like to watch :-
Lee Jong-suk and Park Bo-young Kim Soo-hyoon and Jeon Yeo-been Song Joong-ki and Son Ye-jin Fair Xing and Steven Zhang Yang Yang and Yang Zi Xu Lu and Ryan Ding
Also it's not related to the article but I seriously wanna see Yoo Ah-in in a Rom-com before I die lol ππ¬π€ͺ
F*** I read about those last 10 mins here and in comments on iQIYI and YT when I finished watching E20 and man that spoiler made me loose interest in the show unnecessarily. I ended up watching show knowing what's gonna happen in the end and how it'll ruin my whole Binging Journey πππ. Although the show is good but I didn't get what the hell was that.
Watched it back in 2019 idk how it popped up in my YT feed when I never even tried to watch any Cdrama but glad that it did. Loved this show and finally I was a lil reluctant to watch Cdramas. I hope there are more dramas like this Light, Warm and Fluffy especially a Kdrama since Kindustry has totally forgotten what a Rom-com is :-\
I hope not, as much as i love TVN dramas, OCN ones are my favourite!
Perhaps. Cuz they moved Flagship show like Voice to tvN from OCN. Though I hope they don't do that cuz OCN shows are totally different from tvN shows and unlike tvN dramas which are targeted to mainstream audience, OCN is for Niche dramas.
2 of the shows that I've voted aren't on the list.... 1. My Wife's having an affair this week 2. Memory (2016) 3. God's Gift:14 Days
apart from these 3 I feel that Secret Love Affair, Be Melodramatic, Watcher and Missing Noir M are really underrated as well. I have so many others but I can't remember those now.
Crash Landing On You wins this for me. It's a mediocre garbage but people act as if it's the best drama ever.…
I totally forgot about HP while voting. I haven't even watched the Season 2 although people are going gaga over it but yeah I agree with you that after watching Prison Playbook and the Reply series I expected a lot better from Shin PD-nim but HP is totally FLAT. It's too SLOW IMO.
Definitely DOTS, Goblin and surprisingly the biggest Overrated starring Overrated Actor are missing for example.... The Heirs and King: the Eternal Monarch. Those 2 have to be on the list at any cost. Actually every show that Lee min-ho has starred in is actually Overrated. π
Reply 1988, Prison Playbook, Waikiki, My Mister, Shopping King Louie. Plus if I had an option to add more dramas than only 5, then I'd add..... Put Your Head on My Shoulder, Move to Heaven, 18 Again and Crash Landing on You.
Please can someone tell me if this show is good or not? I can't really decide after reading the reviews here and on other sites but I am really inclined to watch it since I just finished watching My Lil Happiness and now am having withdrawal symptoms.
Although I would like to tell that Cdramas aren't really my cuppa tea. To date I have completed only 6 Cdramas outta 48 dramas that I tried to watch cuz Cdramas usually have unrequired story tropes and have to much "cheesy-ness" and then they just drag the show unnecessarily.

I feel even the audience in South Korea is getting mature with their watching attitude especially since a year or so and recent series prove that cuz most of the recent ones doesn't have those clichΓ©d plot where romance has to be forced.
