Also this is the first drama where I don't like any character 🫣🤣 all of them are frustrating 🤐
HAHAHAHA there's this love-hate relationship with all of them lol

I actually have no more words left for episode 11 lol.

A few episodes back, I've been so suspicious of Mi Kyung (I really believe it was my bias as to wishing her to be Su Young's bestfriend). But now, why do I feel sad for her or for whatever will happen to her after Sang Su's decision?

Honestly this drama continues to confuse me, not of its story, but of how I feel. I tend to believe that I must ought to think or feel this way, but it would then look or feel so wrong eventually haha

"Life is unfair, life is always confusing." True that sis! Just like Soo Young said, we're just running in circles.…
So true! That line was also remarkable. Those were like the times when you ask yourself what is life all about. The times you question the essence of life, especially when you feel like nothing is really going on.
It's so sad to think that we might really be going in circles, but we tend to forget to appreciate the little "joints", like the stations on the train map, within that circle, which is probably what really makes life as worthy as it is.

Title The Interest of Love Spoiler
I swear, the chemistry of the leads is still on fire. But whyyyy did the story reach this level of complications?!…
Ten episodes down, and there's one summary that has been ringing on my mind. This drama shows the side of love as a social construct.

To make it more specific, let's call love as 'relationship'.
In usual dramas, we could always watch the journey of people in a relationship as a sort of fairy-tale. We know from the get-go how the characters should act, or what they should do to end up being together. It always feels like watching a template or a formula for happy ever after, because we always wanted the characters to end up with each other.
This time, we know we wanted the characters to end up with each other, but all the characters, especially the leads, are doing or acting the total opposite of "how" they should decide/act. It's like seeing them do all the wrong things which would make us all wonder if they really wanted to end up together?

But that's how it is in real life, isn't it? We never know who is the person we are meant to be, so we keep on having decisions which we think are rational enough given our current situations. That's why this drama, which makes it quite unique, shows relationship as a social construct. We don't enter into relationships just because we are in love. We always weigh-in a lot of factors. "Am I ready for this kind of relationship?" "What would I gain from this relationship?" "Would this relationship help me?" So far those have been what the characters try to answer and reflect over and over the past 10 episodes. It's interesting to think that such mundane inquiries could spark up a story that is worthy of everyone's interest.

wtf is happening!, just finished episode 5 and i think it's best to wait for the whole drama to air first. looking…
This is far one of the best dramas with intense cliffhangers. The writer really know how to cut the best part for the next episode haha

Intense kisses showing how much they wanted this. I do not mind if it is messy because of hurdles they have to…
Omg didn't expect Jong Hyeon to turn out like that. He feels like a totally different person from episode 1 and 2 lol

But whyyyy did the story reach this level of complications?! Like, I'm finally so happy for our leads to have reach this level of understanding, but it also feels so wrong.

But honestly, this is what I appreciate with this drama. The depictions are so intricate and exacting that it could stand close to reality. Life is unfair, life is always confusing.

Haha no, no, I don't really mean to analyze it that deep, but Mi Kyung's character is a bit of complex, difficult to read despite being always described as frank and straightforward. I'm just to curious with that character. Of all, she's someone hard to read (for me), and I'm intrigued as to what's the fate of the character, or how it will end for her.
😊

No, no, I don't really mean to paint Mi Kyung as surreptitious or scheming. I just only want to mean that she might OR she might not act those intentionally. I only analyzed it based on most people seeing those acts a kind of "off", but those acts might always be "ordinary" and "common" for the likes of Mi Kyung. 😊

Title The Interest of Love Spoiler
It is because the initial trailer suggested that they banged in some hotel. Pretty sure it will not happen like…
If not because of this comment, I haven't found out there literally are a lot more trailers than one in MDL. Lol

But damn, after searching for the other trailers, I was shocked. Didn't expect this drama to have that trailer. But at the same time, watching the trailer at this point in time, every bit of the second just fukng making sense. Haha

Title The Interest of Love Spoiler
Episode 8 was such a BANG.I'll be commenting below my full thoughts. Probably think of it as a sort of recap,…
The level of awkwardness, my goodness. The way they thread the scenes, perfect.

1. Episode 8 somehow hinted Mi Kyung may not be as good as we think she is. I want to highlight a lot of things regarding Mi Kyung, and I'm sensing she's doing some intentionally, and some are not. Juxtaposition or not, just brilliant.

Wine- it may not be intentional, she might have just prepared it for Su Young's birthday. But observe the way the series contrasted the social classes (which by the way they are very consistent from the start). From Jong Hyeon's wish to actual, everyday casual chat of Mi Kyung and Sang Su drinking wine.

Painting- I'm feeling this is intentional though, like discreetly telling Su Young where she belongs, where she fits.

Talk about the class courses- I can't stop thinking that this is actually intentional on Mi Kyung's part. She deliberately had that topic to make Su Young uncomfortable, knowing she didn't graduate from college. Remember how she said she knows everything? She knows.

The gift (even mentioned that Sang Su helped her choose it)- it may be intentional and not. The way she chose the gift, that eventually was shown to not "fit" in Su Young's apartment, just probably a symbolism of the social classes. But I guess the mentioning of Sang Su's participation was intentional in order for others to think he belongs to her world.

The rag (Su Young sees it as an art worthy as a wall decor, but was actually a door mat)- I can't decide whether to see it as intentional or not, but it can be taken lightly as if it is something to symbolize the class disparity. An art vs a hobby. One may pour her soul out, the other is just something done ordinarily.

2. Contrast of Sang Su and Jong Hyeon, one is quiet but acts with impression. He never mentions his deeds, but it can definitely yield a powerful result. Other one is very expressive, but after all, his words are mostly promises (cannot blame him though, it was brought about by his status). But golly, because of that, he could have the tendencies that could lead to question his sincerity. He once left Su Young already when he fell below zero. So, can't say. We'll see.

3. I'm also sensing how Sang Su felt those feelings towards Su Young. He definitely sees his mom in her, thus wanted to protect her. As he said, he got a strong mom, but she never showed her weakness in front of him. Su Young on the other hand is known to be tenacious, unfaltering at work. She does whatever she is told to do, even exceeding beyond everyone's expectations.
On the other hand, Su Young felt emphatic towards Jong Hyeon. She sees herself in him. Miserable and pathetic, outcast, thus she felt a strong urge to help him be elevated from his current situation.

4. Lastly, the last scene — who is agitated? Definitely me. Lol

On The Interest of Love Jan 16, 2023
Honestly after 7 episodes (yes I'm not yet proceeding to the 8th, I need to calm down), it is really Mi Kyung's character that I still cannot decipher at all. Or probably because I'm having a bias, wanting her to be really good friends with Su Young? Or probably I do not what her, as the representative of the "privileged class", to be boxed in the prejudice of being abusive (of power, of opportunity). I don't want her character to be someone that was rotten by the system.

Really, hopefully not.

Please, there's too much bad in this world, I don't want any more deceitful human, even just for this fictional drama. 🙃

I believe that is because the director and writers are very good providing little by little character information…
Yes yes yes true! 💯 neatly done
