Haha, it seems like every other episode there is interesting music background! The beginning of episode 11, the Cantonese classical tune of "Buddhist Temple Bell" was played more than once! Once as background music. The 2nd time it was played by Ye Xiu Du with a guzheng.
It's nice to be well-to-do. In ep 20, Wen Gu and Wen Dong had dinner together on the day of remembering Wen Gu's mom. The dinner table had 6 dishes and 1 soup! They must be big eaters!
There was a part in ep 28 that cracked me up. Xia Xi Yang and Zheng He kept pressing each other to break up. Then, came the rain. One would imagine rain should add on to the misery. However, ZH grabbed XXY to run for the shelter instead. ZH all of a sudden suggested that rain should be a bad sign for breaking up. Therefore, he wanted to postpone the break-up until the next day, and XXY enthusiastically agreed. Cute Idiots! They really didn't want to break up!
Things are still rolling along until ep 21, where BS plot occurred at the best. Writer seemed to drag a bit after the retaliation of Mei Shi Qing on Si Tu Lin. Mei angrily kicked injured Si Tu. Si Tu Lin seemed injured bad and spewed blood. The next thing happened was Mei Shi Qing just stood there to watch Si Tu Lin got away. C'mon!! A moment ago Si Tu Lin threatened to kill both Mei Shi Qing and Xiao Wan Zi when both were in chains. If you were Mei Shi Qing, would you watch your killer walked away?Whatever the next steps were, the wrong plot would be to let Si Tu Lin get away easily. Boo!!! It you don't want to kill the guy, at least stop him from committing more crimes!
In Ep 13, Mei Shi Qing felt the pain on his RIGHT arm he injured over night. Xiao Wan Zi wanted to tend to his womb, but Mei Shi Qing undressed his LEFT arm instead of the RIGHT arm. You think the director or assistant made a mistake after a 5-minute break from acting.
Can't stand the ending episode (32) "kissing scene"! That was a peck! The director probably should count to 10 before cutting the beautiful ending during the firefly scenic mood of the lovers. Then, there was another chance to do a 2nd "kissing scene", when Lin Xing Chen found out the little older brother was Lu Yi Bai. In the "right" mood, Lu Yi Bai only gave Lin Xing Chen anther peck on the forehead!! What a terrible letdown!! C'mon Director!!!!!!
Very disappointing in ep 24 when Yan Shi Xuan threw sparks to light up the dynamite one at a time. People just ran around and around instead of getting out of the explosion sites. Most of them stood on the same spots covering their heads like they could avoid explosion in their faces while listening to this crazy guy executing his revenge plan against the forming of Tong Tian Academy. Leaders should have ordered guards to shoot down this crazy psycho with arrows and to stop anymore explosions and deaths. I guess writer intended to allow the explosions to occur until more deaths were evident to end this drama. Unthinkable and illogical ending plot!
Ep 18 has a blunder. Teams of 4 ventured out to locations to search for clues on accounting issues. The team of Cui Chu Yi, Song Lian Yu, Duan Shao Xuan and Su Yao Hua encountered an assassin. Duan Shao Xuan injured the assassin, but they were delayed by traps. When Duan Shao Xuan was about to nab the assassin. Su Yao Hua stopped Duan from chasing after the assassin. 1. We are dealing with life and death situation moments ago. Why did Su stop Duan from nabbing the assassin? He seemed to sustain bad injury. This should be the time to at least interrogate him! 2. The next scene when they were about to board the stagecoach to bid farewell to the village crowd, Su Yao Hua asked Song Lian Yu why Song stopped the pursuit of the injured assassin. I was perplexed as to what happened. Wasn't Su Yao Hua the one who stopped Duan from chasing after the injured assassin? So I re-watched that scene with the injured assassin to confirm that Song Lian Yu never stopped the pursuit of the assassin! Perhaps the writer lost the plot line as to who did what!! Shouldn't the actresses correct the director and the writer on this??
Is it just me or does the ending feel very abrupt?
Absolutely HUHing! Other drama sites have ending in 45 episodes. Am I the only one did not realize it ended in 40? Did the production run out of budget or the writers get fired? or both? The Cinderella-fella ending seems hanging with many questions. Is it really ending or just RanRan's dream? The families are still left with hard feelings or the heck with them! The project proposals were in competition and the RanRan-SuMo's team won! How? Any triumphant reason over the one proposed by Newman? Did Lin Xiang'An's father intervene? How did RanRan and MingZhe reconcile? There could be more juicy details to round up the story! OK, OK, let's just end everyone's anxiety and make it painless! Kaput! Darn it!
really enjoyed this drama, had a good balance between romance, friendship, family, and morals.
Couldn't agree more, especially enjoying with everyone in here! With agreement or not, we all have been watching with similar mindset and expectation. Sharing fun and frustrations (like waiting for upcoming episodes). Getting into the plot and learning some fact and background about the story have been enjoyable. Hope to cross roads with some of you in other interesting productions!! Great neighborhood here!

The cutest scene in my opinion was Rain Lu (WRJ) and Yan Yi Yi (Qing He) puckered up facing each other and looking like 2 kissing fish. I just feel like pinching their lips or tapping their puckering lips up and down with my index finger.
