First, there were no subtitles so I had to watch it raw using all of my rough Korean understanding till date I had gathered from watching kdramas.
*spoilers*
Second, I didn't know at first this movie was mature too, but it's not a problem, in fact, it only raised my expectations. The main lead was such a wimp, he's never had skinship with woman so he goes crazy whenever he touches women.
And the female lead was burning hot I admit, lol some scenes were even funny in their interaction.
Without subs, I had some difficulty in understanding the scenes, but even if I had to rewind and then understand, I was never lazy to do it.
But the problem was the whole movie I was expecting him to make a move on her, they even showed strong signs that he's was undeniably attracted to her, even if she at first didn't like him much, but rather than imagining sexual things/attraction with him, she was more genuine with her interactions with him.
She even encouraged him a lot to be open, but he, as an idiot I never expected him to be, was still stuck on his first love of how many years I don't remember. All I know is that he loved that girl since his college days and the day he wanted to confess, she was kissing his senior. Damn.
But still, I've seen many dramas where guys move on with their first love, here also I expected that. But no, he was damn stubborn.
Female lead was so annoyed by his actions sometimes, even a scene comes where she celebrates his birthday by giving surprise and they even kiss also, but then he's all about let's be bf and gf so that we can kiss like this all the time.
It broke her heart, and tbh, mine too because she was expecting something geuine from him but he was all about having sex. I know it's a mature movie so he need to be sex-minded but still, I was feeling things for both of them in the screen, so how couldn't they?
They have some of the sweetest kiss scenes ever, I really was surprised considering it a was mature movie so they needed to go deeper which they didn't. The kiss even seemed like a peck in front of those explicit scenes of other couple.
All of those two kisses happened, and then they decided to part ways. I was like WTF. I was even expecting him to stop her, she even tried to give hints, like asking him to remain in contact with her from time to time, which he refused. (Literally wanted to kill him there.)
She was disappointed, everything was written on her face. Then she left. They ended the movie with the cliche lesson that how much male lead matured while staying with the female lead for some time, how she came him confidence blah blah blah.
At the end, we see, his first love came to his store, and they reunited. I was left betrayed in the streets.
I mean come on! What's with boys and their first loves! It totally ruined my mood. This isn't even an open ending. I felt bad for the female lead though she was cool enough to handle on her own.
I would rate this movie 6/10. Its good I watched this in lockdown otherwise major part of my study break would have gone to waste.
Its receiving backlash because Korean netizens probably think this drama sexualized high school students, by the…
When have people not overreacted? They think their views matter, which honestly do, but not to that extent when they openly criticize just anything, because they need to vent out their frustration anywhere, wherever they'll find more comfortable to do. And where they'll find the most satisfaction.
I see some parallels with IC. Both Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Da-Mi were high schoolers when they met Ji Chang Wook…
I never understood those teenagers disguised as fucking dedicated netizens in Korea, as to when and why they like any drama, so how can I dare to understand them this time?
For me, it always seems like a well packed scheme to destroy someone's career
I'm new to cdramas, probably this is gonna be my second after Fifteen years of migratory birds, so can you guys please tell me is it worth watching at all? Cause I've been watching kdramas for five Years, and so I have high expectations.
Also, can anyone tell who falls first? Male lead or female lead?
Also, I realize I find acting of Chinese so so weird and annoying. But I admit they have some interesting plots I really want to watch.
I'm not a fan of historical dramas, even Korean historical dramas I find hard to watch, so I really don't know what to expect from this one.
I want to branch out so badly, I really want to try Chinese, Thai, Taiwanese dramas too, but I find myself hesitating so much.
lol found someone that also don't like love triangle. but sadly most of dramas have love triangle as one of ingredient.
Totally agree! Probably is I feel like I have found every needle in hay and now there is only waste left lol. But I still believe I might have missed some, seeing how from time to time I get something of my taste to watch by accident!
lol found someone that also don't like love triangle. but sadly most of dramas have love triangle as one of ingredient.
I also hate hate and hate love triangles and here, in kdramas, most of them have it so much.
Still, there are plenty of dramas without love triangles, problem is they are underrated but watching them is worth going all the troubles to find them and fall in love with kdramas all over again.
I even prefer two girls one guy love triangles, at least they are less miserable to watch than the other way around.
Oh of course, watch it whenever you want. I watched it in drmaacool since long dramas aren't available in Netflix. BTW, which country are you from? I'm from India. ?
I really want to watch this drama, but since I've never really watched Thai dramas before, except full house Thai, I'm afraid I'll find it totally weird in terms of everything.
But I'm really really tempted to watch it because summary sounds just like the one I'm looking for to watch for so long!
I'm almost at the end of the Ugly Alert, I can say I loved it so so much, its something different that made me totally invested in it from the start.
Idk how you missed watching Ugly Alert, most people I met online have watched Ugly Alert, as their first long drama, including me.
I'm also like you, having no confidence in commuting to Long dramas, but this one proved to be a big exception for me.
Maybe, if you go and check its rating and comments here, you'll understand what I'm trying to say.
Also, each episode is just 35 min long, so it makes up around 60 episodes for you to watch. That's why even I started it thinking I don't have anything to lose except some really uneding long hours of lockdown.
It may start out slow, you may think I exaggerated so much praises about the drama but if you keep watching further, you'll see its all just for character development.
In the end, I just want to say its your wish whether you wanna give it a try or not, but since I have watched ugly alert, I'd been more addicted to it than 16-20 ep weekly dramas, already I'm having withdrawal syndromes lol. Don't want to watch last few episodes, afraid it'll end soon.

Smile, you
And Ugly Alert (daily drama) too!
Those weak dramas which get sucesss because of stardom are probably the most disliked category by me.
For me, it always seems like a well packed scheme to destroy someone's career
They also think this show uses prostitution as a joke scene where ji chang wook gets arrested for being an illegal customer of forced prostitutes.
Of course, age gap is also there.
And one scene is said to be plaigiarsed from Japanese movie also, thats why there is so much backlash.
