He was trying to find her again and that's how he sensed her blood/aura in the sea. Also he was fixing the spear but it would take some time because it not an easy feat especially after being struck by lightening.
It's incredible to see new shades of XZ. You know what I love about him? He could easily use his divine power to get all the stuff done right away like catching a fish, but he doesn't. It's like he is shunning the world and his godhood. He was like that in the moral world arc too. 😍

In the teaser it seems SL's phoenix aura found its way to XZ when he was under the sea fixing her spear. XZ felt her aura when she was on the beach. In the novel I assumed that either Mofang somehow informed XZ but it would be almost impossible or that XZ somehow felt her aura since she was no longer in cave which was heavily under a spell.
