Will they get divorced? I mean, a fortune-teller once told her so. I have a feeling they will... with a last-minute…
They'd have to get married again using her real identity and not her sister's for it to be legitimate and for the Emperor to never be able to threaten her again. Remember, he only married the other princess because he was forced to save her life. She can always be killed for 'deceiving' the emperor by taking her sister's place and marrying him.
I’ve watched edits of this drama and it seems like the ML could care less about her. does this last long? is…
He will change. In the beginning, he's just very suspicious so ignores her and keeps her at arms length on purpose because she is the daughter of his enemy so he thinks she's either there to spy and/or assassinate him.
Then he's conflicted because he senses that she's good person and is drawn to her but still scared that it's a honey pot trap and she's still the daughter of his enemy and there's conspiracy plots that make him doubt her and she him.
He's the bad guy in Love Between Devil and Fairy. He's so good there too. He's a great actor, especially for the…
I watched The Legend of Zhuohua just for him since he's the ML (this was a little after LBDF so I was a little excited for him). But was a little disappointed because they didn't make him look as good as here as Feng Lai or in LBDF. Character was also less interesting. He's got a whole bunch of new dramas not yet aired so I guess I'll have to wait and see.
The eye-candy idol actors are fun to watch but sometimes they're so young that no matter what, they can't exude the 'manly man' aura that an older actor can.
I'll just pretend that he's resurrected since he's a phoenix. They never die :)
It was such a random drop 😄 Seems like Song Yirens dramas are finally going to start airing again.
Canadian here. To clarify, Quebec is the province and Montreal is a city in the province of Quebec. Or the proper French spelling Québec.
For those interested: Quebec is the predominantly French speaking province in Canada (around 80%), New Brunswick is the other province in Canada that has a large French-speaking population. The rest of Canada is pretty much English-speaking. But Canada is officially bilingual (English and French) so all government services are provided in both languages, all labels for products have to be in both languages (with a few exceptions), and the Prime Minister is expected to address the nation and be able to speak in both languages.
Kill a prince for the petty revenge of appeasing an already dead empress and set the entire kingdom on high alert…
I agree. I viewed it as the priority is to get LTG to be in position of power ASAP and destabilize the An emperor. Coincidentally, all these actions also means that Ruyi gets her revenge. This is the priority because only with LTG in power can the rest of the Wu envoy ensure their own safety and leave An since none of the emperors are trustworthy and both cruel/unhinged. Then, saving the Wu emperor will be up to the envoy but no one cares anyway if he survives or not.
My son is obsessed with Godzilla (he's a kid). We have seen every movie beginning from 1954 in Japanese with subtitles and sometimes just Japanese and have no clue what the heck everything means and then watch later again with subtitles.
Just saw this one in Imax theatres in Canada and this one is the best one so far. So glad that we caught it in theatre to support it. Cannot recommend it enough. Even if you're not a Godzilla fan, you'll enjoy it (from the rest of our viewing group's experiences). Everything is sooooo good, from story, to acting, to cinematography, to music. But mostly the story. No minute wasted.
Please tell me that the Marquees doesn’t have a hidden room full of Ruyi’s painted pictures…. 😳
He does indeed have a room full of painted pictures of her. It was revealed in earlier episodes (I forget which one) that he once captured a painter that had met RRY and held him hostage and forced him to paint portraits of RRY.
This was part of the reveal of all the crazy obsessive things he did after her death. Like gathering all her dresses and preserving them (or something like that). I'll have to go back and rewatch a few episodes, I just remember something about her dresses and a few other things where his servants all thought he was crazy.
Guessing the baby's the 3rd prince of the current An king because I can't see how he would be carrying YSS and…
I was guessing that the baby is the 3rd prince too because of what NYG said to LGT when they were talking alone and NYG was making his deal. He said that he would prefer the 3rd prince to be on the throne of An but he's too young, just a baby.
So logically, I would say they would work together to depose the current emperor and get rid of the 2 princes. Have LGT "rule" in the 3rd prince's place to protect the throne for him until he grows up and to teach him how to be a good ruler. Like RRY taught LGT.
So, this only works if LGT has a redemption arc where he's not obsessed and crazy with his master. Which I think will happen, there are already signs/hints that they showed that he's redeemable and I've noticed that this show doesn't have wasted scenes, there's a lot of details with good payout in the end.
it's all fun and games rn but i bet it is going to be tragedy after tragedy in the later episodes😭😭
I agree, it'll be a real tragedy. We have to remember that originally, this mission was pretty much a suicide mission and there's no way that they can complete it without paying a heavy price full of sacrifices. Especially with how the show is sticking to logic and reality (as much as a show can or compared to other c-dramas).
I liked the actor in LLTG but man do I hate him here!
OMG, thank you for this. His face looked so familiar to me but I couldn't place it. Now that you mentioned LLTG. The Third prince!! I liked his character there and I thought he played it well.
Pushing him because of.... basically what happened in Ep 30?Even if Li Ni wants to leave all this and go to Laolan…
Yes agreed. FL knows that him being crown prince is the ONLY way to protect his own life (Li Ni's), the life of the real heir (the grand-crown prince) and bring peace and stability to the people/country. His father is too dumb and hates him and his brothers are too greedy and vicious. Everyone standing in their way will get killed, including Li Ni.
He's too naive to ever think that he can go back to what he was before or just walk away from everything if he's the son of an emperor. Not just any regular son, but an outstanding one that controls a mighty army. As if anyone would let him off the hook. This part of his thinking/logic to me is lazy writing because if Li Ni is a great strategist like the show portrays then he would have come to the same conclusion as Cui Lin that his destiny as Crown Prince is inescapable.
no it is just we behave silly around people we love. If she was on battlefield, i don't she would have said medicine…
I have to disagree. I've been in love. Married 18 years and I've seen a lot of other people in love. Sure, you become silly and a little crazy and illogical sometimes with the hormones of love. But you don't revert to being an immature child. Especially if you're a conditioned warrior. There's other ways to get attention and try to milk the empathy.
For example, it's very boring and can actually be very painful to lie still for long periods of time. So I'd be getting my love interest to give me light muscle massages or to rub out the stiffness. I'd make them entertain me by reading or talking to me. Imagine two lovers just deep in conversation getting to know each other while one is recuperating and the other is keeping them company and rubbing out the muscle stiffness. That's way more romantic and an intelligently written dialogue scene can add to character development or give us a reason why these two are in love with each other and not someone else.
And how many times can you complain about the medicine, really?! One time is MAX, anything more then you're a whiny brat. Even if you're in love. Then you're a whiny brat that's in love. But still a whiny brat.
Or change the scene and have the sick person drink the medicine. Silently make a cringe face but they don't say anything about it being bitter. The person that loves them, notices and next time gives them the medicine and silently gives them a candy after. The sick person takes the candy but notices that their lover noticed and acknowledges in a subtle way and then the scene moves on to something else. Have dialogue in between these gestures that don't address the bitterness of the medicine or the candy but the actions are there to hint to the audience. That's mature writing for a mature audience. Not stupid out loud whining and complaining that requires coaxing like you're dealing with a toddler.
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to rant here because I've watched A LOT of dramas and I'm soooooo sick of the whole "medicine is bitter" BS. Like come on, it's so ridiculous. You're telling all these generals/heroes go into battle get shot with arrows and stabbed and cut and almost dying, spitting blood and everything without batting an eye but can't drink a little bitter medicine without whining and complaining like a 2 year old?
And what is with all the ridiculous sweet candy to go along with the bitter medicine? Like they're babies. Or giving candy/sweets as gifts ALL THE TIME and the reaction is like they're getting the coolest gift ever. Then the question, "is it sweet?"; uh duh, YES it's sweet if it's candy! WTF. Can we all be adults please.
There's got to be better ways to show us the audience that the characters are caring and sweet without all this stupidity in almost every drama.
But on a positive note, I'm really loving this drama despite the tropes. I didn't have any expectations and started watching out of curiosity so was pleasantly surprised at how good it is in terms of a strong FL that is consistent and a well matched ML that isn't overpowered and perfect.

He resolves his feelings for her around eps 8-10
