‼️Spoiler‼️I’ve read both the OG novel and the drama script many times. Glad they kept the same ending…
hi. so i know that this novel was written long ago, and that some parts of novel seem unnecessary for me(while i like other parts. and i do love a bit melodramatic plot), granted that i read it with machine translation, and its nuance was lost for me. but it is more of a wish for novel, where some changes could just better the story, where you wonder if author focused on this and that. i am mostly interested bcs of actors to be honest, and the setting, as it really seems unique. but also business character tag intrigued me, as in novel i felt like focusing on more of heroine's craft would do her character justice. i do hope for some deviation from novel, as its usually the thing with scriptwriters of cdramas, that's why i was interested if the cdrama script changed some things.
I do genuinely think some of these sex scenes were just added as a shock value, and I did not like it. But if violence and gore can exist, then sex scenes can also be present. Genuinely like some scenes and dark atmosphere. JCW is sooo good as a king, i like how he looks so miserable and tired. Woo's sister is not working for me as a antagonist and I hope we will get to see main character's dark side. I want ruthless fem characters
they truly did something with that opening style. putting words with music makes it look more like an edit, but it also creates some intrigue. you may guess the concept of the whole story by their dialogue and still wait for how it unfolds. especially for the story of rebirth, it is a simple yet brilliant decision.
right???? especially when it starts to do that spinny thing but besides that everything's good, i also like how…
For real! I used to watch many Indian soap operas and these scenes remind me of them. And it is not like this drama was filmed by newbies. But at the same time thank God we actually got it))) So I try to complain less
It needs a subtler directing style. Those transitions and dramatic ahh moments make me cringe. But I love flashbacks and like how different Bai Lu looks between them.
You don't seem to appreciate story telling, world building. This is my first xianxia drama, and I know that because…
I was quite delighted with that arc, as it plays right into the bigger plot of the drama and characters, people just have to be more patient. Like that is a whole lore. I was quite disappointed when other dramas just show minute-long flashbacks of the things that literally reshaped their whole world and story without making any references to them.
I have a problem with pacing. I am all down for fast pacing, especially in cdramas, but one thing when it was directed and written this way(like in The Last of Us), then it will be immaculate. But since editing and wiping out several episodes, it just will be a problem. Production wise it is so different, character design and CGI, fight scenes are probably one of the best in the industry, hands down, like I can praise them all day long, but dubbing and cakey makeup makes me wish technically it was better. But one thing I don't get the criticism about is the logic of the plot. Could you tell me what parts have you found illogical, especially for xianxia drama? I really do not see them.
I am just a drama watcher, but I am liking those flashbacks/one-life thing because it shows lore of the universe and at the same time does not make a whole ass multiple-episode thing about other random characters with other actors. We still get scenes with our fav actors and actresses
