I absolutely love the fact that this is the only historical Korean drama i watched where all the characters can be empathized and there is not a single person who is completely despicable, All the characters had flaws , makes mistakes and had their own reasons which we could understand why they do what they do and we never really could fault them for it.
Old king, Queen, princess, Prince, court lady there is no real Villain here its all circumstances .
This drama on the surface looks like a romance , actually speaks strongly about the Women who are being imprisoned in their roles during the historical times and could not make choices or act on their own volition in most their lifetime.
it did felt boring in the beginning episodes and took time to pick up and get into the actual plot and got me hooked then on . This is a must watch

i finished watching it now, It made me cry a river , its been a while since i had a good cry strong enough to give me head ache.
Female lead grew on me on the later episodes, Her conviction on making choices and wanting to have the freedom to live as she desired was different take on a usual melodrama romance stories , in that way it stood apart and gave me satisfaction that i watched something fresh .

They could have chosen a different female lead for this . i am on Episode 7, I dont feel the chemistry between the leads or find her attractive. Kim Yoo Jung could have been an apt one for this role

The leads are good was the only reason i was able to get through with this. yes i did complete it and it was not completely waste of time in the end.

c'mon , you made me reconsider from watching this, a good smooch would complete the romance story and i am sucker for it.

Its really sad to see Cha Joo Young mostly getting negative roles. With the beauty she posses she could have been excellent main lead with good nature character which i would absolutely adore.
Instead i was despising her all these days before watching this based on the role she played in "wok of love" where i completely despised her. her atleast she had redemption but still she could pull of a main lead role for sure.
Baek Jin hee was excellent in her acting and so cute, however most scenes turned out to be cliche and cringy and the male lead made it hard to root for them, there was completely zero chemistry between them, He look like a dad to her. which ironically she stated as her principle.
Overall , its a good watch for the mere sake of the premise and i am sucker for office romance and atleast for 10 episodes before they confess to each other it was a enjoyable after that nothing much happens , could have been 12 episodes show.
Go watch it if you are fan of office Romedy.

The premise is good, but very poorly executed, it fail to elicit any sort of emotion towards the main leads , There is no depth in characters. Female lead look adorable and main reason for me to kept watching it. Screenplay executed poorly. made it a below average for me, i didnt not engaged in story nor entertained. I just fast forwarded just to complete the narration when the leads get together. For me the drama was over when they confessed their love.

Hi Faithless< Thanks a lot for the insight on the title. now that you explained and pointed out the Easter eggs i appreciate it a lot more and agreed that its good and aptly named title, But i still stand by the thought that the title "just between lovers " is the best one for this and eye catching for anyone who is not sure about this drama to jump in by just looking at the title. Its so close to the heart.

Yoon Soo Hyun character in the end broke my heart and made my eyes overflowing pond.
Didnt like her in the beginning , why would anyone shamelessly stay with the guy after being rejected for 5 times. I have been irritated by her character but the end she has turned out to be the most beloved character among all.
the Drama is definitely not matches with the rating given in MDL I would personally rate 9 but average should be around 8.2 or 8.3.
so many flaws and easy twist that anyone could figure out and the questionable and unconvincing decisions by most of the characters made me not like the drama as much as i wanted to .
Male lead was my favorite ever since i watched "Secret Love" His acting is impeccable

This is one among my most cherished romance dramas. Watching it second time around on netflix appreciate it a lot more made me realize how much i loved this drama the first time and when we rewatch it , it usually loses to bring out the emotions as it did the first time , but not this one. It felt the same swoonworthy love feeling as the couple slowly get to know each other and fall for one another.
The Main leads are fantastic , i adore them both and chemistry between them are off the charts.
This is easily the sweetest and satisfying watch.
Title on the netflix for this show sucks (rain and shine) what kinda stupid title is that, it wont draw any attention to people. here in mydramalist it aptly titled as (Just between lovers) title itself speaks volume and coudnt be more perfect.
Cast allaround very well done . Music that beautifully woven in scenes.
Female Lead top notch in her acting and her beauty is the main reason made me watch this again. Her eyes does most of the acting .
Female lead part done right in this one, Hec conviction and decision making and going after the guy she likes and breaking all the clichés how she always catch him peeking at her.
Male lead as charming as he gets and i should say he lived that role. I liked him a lot which i hardly say about any male leads.
I will definitely watch his again on some special occasion in future.

I admit the romance aspect does not work for me , i found the chemistry is lacking most of the time, But the actors themselves have done their job extremely well. Over all casting A+ for me, it couldn't have been any better. The ending is what i was hoping to be different but then this is expected out of this story from the beginning.
The story kept me engaged throughout and all the side characters impressed a lot. Its surprising that in a major themed romance drama not a single kiss scene taken place.
I putoff watching it for more than year to watch it on a special occasion since the rating is pretty high , i mistook the theme as time travel si-fi but this turned out to be historical even then it did not disappoint.

Its would be worth a watch in terms of the premise. There are kiss scenes , its just not between the leads and based on the characterization you wouldn't want them to be engage in romance either. You would get to know what i am talking about when you complete the first episode then you can decide to watch .

It has good premise and start and great potential to be entertaining as the earlier episodes indicated to be. However, this has fell flat and dragged in a mud on the later episodes, they were kept circling around the same issue eventually got watered down and i lost all interest. I had to fast forward more than 6 episodes in the end to finish it.
Kim Min jun and Jang ha ri had great chemistry and looks adorable together, it was a shame that they did not explore their romance story , would have been fantastic to see if they more bickering sense and proper expression of love in the end.
There is no motivation for me to watch it again

Technically this was a brilliant drama on the level of well made movies, Stunt sequences are topnotch and they didnt pull the punch on the gory scenes. However the plot is the century old undercover story we have seen hundred times.
Screenplay is what matters and they made it pretty engaging.
However the FL was as excelled as in her action scenes, she doesnt have the charm to pull this role where she stands ruthless as wells gains sympathy from us. She acting in so many dramas as extramarital partner kinda stuff, i could not like her here as much as i wanted.
At the end, the ML the cops ending was an absolute unnecessary twist totally ruined the show for me. They could have chosen a different ending.
All in all its worth the watch, but wont leave you satisfied.
