With limited screen time on Start Up, he was able to wow the audience with his acting range, micro expressions, and stage presence.

With Homecha's director, who is aware of Seon Ho's talent, he is allowed to fully showcase his full acting range, and that's why each scene where he and SMA are there is just so powerful and impactful.

Whether it's closeup's or half shots, you really get a feel of the conflicted emotions within Seon ho that belies even the cheery tune in the background.

Suzy I don't think was really affected by Startup negatively, I would still watch her future dramas.

Nam Joo Hyuk on the other hand, was just given a poor characterization to deal with. In a way, he played his role so well, that it's hard for me at least to imagine him in any other role, without thinking about Dosan, one of the weakest Male Lead, i've seen in a while.

Just wondering. I think one of the epilogues of the episode, we see dusiks medical chart. And I can't read Korean at all. But I made out the date as sometime in 2019. And made out the words heart problems and facial trauma.

Wonder if this has anything to do with anything.

I think the fourth Gongjin Mystery is more of an unspoken one.

Why is Dusik doing all these part time jobs for minimum wage?

The villagers don't mind it, since they benefit from it. But why does Dusik actually do these things? Even as village chief, you are not required to do everything by yourself, that is what staff is for.

With the realistic tone the drama has taken so far, I feel that there must be an answer lying there somewhere.

The person who is Hong Dusik is a complex one. He is always smiling, always helping, always laughing in public...

But when he closes his eyes, the tears come down... he is defenseless in his dreams...

And aside from Hye Jin, only one other person knows the truth about his inner turmoil, and probably only Gam-ri actually knows what happened the last five years in Seoul. For a man who is constantly surrounded by people who support him, he is so guarded and walled.

It's weird, he keeps calling Gongjin his hometown, and yet he has never made any attempts to make it his true home... That's why at times he will be in his grandfather's boat, away from the rest of the village, on a mountain alone... On his day offs, he never spends it with anyone but himself...

Just realized. We had that powerful realization scene from Hye Jin. But we never got one for dusik.

And I mean gam ri telling him to go for Hye Jin doesn't count. Let's not forget dusiks trauma required medication.

Which kinda makes.me think that dusiks may have kissed Hye Jin and told her he loves her, but it may not be as sincere as we.first thought. Dusik may want to be able to fully commit, but his inner turmoil won't allow him to. Just like it shows in the start of EP 12.

Hye Jin on the other hand is fully and deeply in love.

I'm watching dramas for a long time now, but the leads have never said "I love you" before the last episode, like…
Almost like a reminder that the past two episodes didn't feel real.

The kiss in Ep 10 felt much more heartfelt. Even the kiss during when Hye Jin was in the bed felt like better timing.

The ending kiss almost felt like, got a gift, we said we love each other, and it's under the stars, let's kiss.

I am pretty confident the final kiss for the series is going to be full of passion!

I didn't realise it in first watch but when I was second time watching episode 12 (like some parts) I realised…
Yeah it's all a dream sequence. Containing both dusiks biggest wants and his biggest fear.

Just a little mid day realization.

I rewatched those four scenes in Ep. 11, and you know what I realize? Ep. 11 is meant to show us the two sides of Hye Jin. The sweet, warm, and often childlike Aegyo within her, and the cold, stern, sometimes rash version that we have been seeing since Episode 1 that hides that lonely little girl with low self-esteem. The director subtlety wanted to make these two sides of Hye Jin stark in contrast by proposing four very different faces/demeanor of Hye Jin. Remember, Hye Jin even though she is with Dusik, still seeks societal acceptance, not wanting to wear fakes and etc...

I wonder now, if a big part of the reason she likes Dusik is because he is loved and accepted by the villagers? That subconsciously, by being with him, she will inherit that love and acceptance from them? That could explain why she had a crush on Ji PD before (he was a popular up and coming director), and why as Miseon said "Hye Jin only goes for guys with Wealth and Status".

With this in mind, Ep. 12 made so much more sense, because it's Hye Jin fully shedding the façade she has been holding for the past 10 episodes, and letting her real personality shine through. That inner child, that never had a chance to grow up due to a lack of parental guidance, and a toxic college relationship. That inner child that never had anyone ask her to come out to play. And so, she's had to be a mature, educated adult all her life. She was never given a chance to be a clingy person or an Aegyo person, because society, just like we MDL commenters would judge her for it. But now, she has met a guy, who in her mind, naturally brings out her true self, who won't and doesn't judge her actions.

In fact, this sweet summer child version of Hye Jin, only really comes out when she is with Bora/Injun and with Mi Seon. To the point that Dusik had to tell Hye Jin's dad, "your daughter is a sweet warm hearted person".

And I feel that may be the directors true purpose in Ep. 11 and 12 to show Hye Jin, shedding her façade, and for Dusik to start wearing his.

I admit I love this couple but the recent lovey-dovey scenes are really cringe and slightly out-of-character.…
I've seen 30 years old act like this in real life, if not worse.

Have you ever seen grown adults walk with hands in each others back pocket? I have... I cannot unsee it either...

People in love do the weirdest things, regardless of age.

Yep, most of the cringey stuff is behind closed doors. I am sure other couples do even more crazy stuff behind closed doors.

Isn't it true that in a relationship, a badge of how much that person loves you is to show you and the public…
I think he is slowly allowing himself to be happy, and you'll see him at times give in to the madness that is Hye Jin. But then he is reminded starkly he is not meant to be happy, and it becomes a sort of one sided kind of happiness again.

Brushing each others teeth is NOT romantic. Jus sayin.
It's not. It's meant to be as cringey as possible. And not only is Mi-seon aware of this, but so is Dusik, but he gives in to Hye Jin, because it's what makes her happy. And with Dusik's fear of being left alone, in his own way, he feels if he keeps giving it to her, Hye Jin will never leave...

The romance at the moment revolves heavily around Hye Jin. What makes her happy, what makes her comfortable and everything. There is very little that they are doing that is what Dusik wants. And I believe that is the purpose of all these inane fluff is to point out, they are living out Hye Jin's fantasy, not Dusik's.

That is why the activities, and overly saccharine scenes have that immature, child like innocence quality towards it, because this his Hye Jin's inner child coming out to play, not Dusik's. He is still trapped within the confines of his trauma.

Seriously have none of you ever third wheeled an actual relationship or what?Age nor bar, early honeymoon period…
Isn't it true that in a relationship, a badge of how much that person loves you is to show you and the public just how cringey he or she is willing to be as a proof of love?

I mean come on. Piggyback rides in kdrama is fine, but in real life I would be so incredibly embarrassed.
