How Snowdrop will End. My idea on the plot direction for last 3 episodes.Read below.
Ok let me flesh out my ending prediction to include more characters. What I expect to see in the next few episodes.
After finding out that Young Ro is the ANSP directors daughter, the dorm hostages will start turning on her, led by Hye Roung and Seoul Hee. This act will make Boon Ok see Young Ro in a new light, and realize that they are not that different from each other, and Boon Ok will start softening towards Young Ro. This will be the beginning of Boon Ok's redemption arc. Kang moo and Soo Ho on the other hand will have a little bit of trust issues as they deal with the fallout of Kang Moo's apparent betrayal.
In the mean time, Cheong Ya will be wheeling and dealing, and eventually fool Chief An's wife to give her the money necessary for the scheme. They may try to show some sort of cliffhanger, where it "Seems" Cheong Ya has betrayed them. But in reality, Cheong Ya's love for Soo Ho will persevere. She continues with the rest of the plan and contacts Lim Ji Rok to tell him, she has the money. Lim Ji Rok not satisfied with merely the money, is angered that Soo Ho has become an insolent puppy, will give Cheong Ya the instruction to kill Soo Ho. Cheong Ya is aware that Hanna is surveilling her and will confront her, they may have a fight scene of some sort, but eventually Cheong Ya will convince Hanna that she wants to help Soo Ho and Kang Moo. They hatch a plan of how to re-enter the dorm. Two things may happen, either Hanna and Cheong Ya sneak back in, or Hanna will take Cheong Ya "Hostage" and this will stop Nam Tae il from blowing up the dorm. But before they do this, they will free that reporter Gil.
In the mean time, with Cheong Ya outside, nothing will stop Nam Tae il from surging forward to attack the dorm. But since Eun Chang Su's recovery is being hidden. Being shot has made Eun Chang Su a new man, he finally realizes the sins of his party, and starts constructing a political power play showing the corruption of the ruling party. He starts gathering evidence, which he will later give to reporter Gil.
With the attack towards the dorm being inevitable, everyone puts their difference aside and prepare for the attack on the dorm. The ANSP attacks the dorm, and gunfight ensues. During the gunfight in the dorm, some people will get killed, a total of 13 of the girl hostage will be killed. Gyeok Chan finally seeing the error of his way ask Soo Ho for a gun, and covers the exit in rambo style as the rest of the hostage escape outside through the shrine. Gyeok Chan and Eun Cheol, finally putting aside their difference will die together while defending the hostages. Boon Ok, also dies during this time, but not before Ms. Pi protects her, who also end up dying. We find out the true relationship between Boon Ok and Ms. Pi.
While escaping somehow Soo Ho will "Die", and Young Ro, Kang Moo will witness this. As Young Ro is tearfully wanting to approach Soo Ho's lifeless body, she is dragged away by Kang Moo. The screen will turn to black and we will have a small time skip.
Gil, having been released earlier, will report all the wrong doings of the ANSP. The reason he has so much evidence, because Eun Chang Su finally does the right thing and snitches on all the wrongs of the ruling party. This will eventually end up being the final nail in the coffin, and the ruling party is defeated. Nam Tae il is sent to jail and scapegoated as being the main man that is trying to kill the hostages. The public turns on the ruling party, and on election day the opposition wins. Chief An, ever the opportunist, will attempt to spin things in his innocence, but Kang Moo and Hanna will bring him up on charges, and he will also go to jail, with Gil actually being living proof of Chief An's corruption.
Gil also reports that all the NK spies have been killed. Cheong Ya returns back to NK and keeping her promise to Soo Ho, she confirms the kill and brings back Soo Ho's locket as proof, and Soo Ho's sister remains safe because of this. Disillusioned by her party, she eventually moves to a country like her discussion with Soo Ho in Ep. 13, bringing Soo Ho's sister with her.
Another time skip, and we see Seoul Hee and Lee Gwang Tae getting married. We see that in truth Seoul Hee's family has no money and Lee Gwang Tae doesn't know about it. During the wedding we see a somber Young Ro. After the wedding, an unknown stranger gives her a recording, which she then listens to. It is the recording of the voice of Soo Ho telling her how much he loves her and etc... In the tape, he mentions a special place that he loved when he was studying in Germany, and he wishes that she will one day visit there, no matter what happens to him. After listing to his recording, she cries, and vows to one day honor Soo Ho's wishes. The scene turns to black.
5 years has passed and somehow Eun Chang Su actually gets elected to presidency. Most of it is because people considered him a bit of a hero who had a lot of tragedy happen to him, and was the person who was ultimately responsible for the downfall of the ruling party. Young Ro graduates from university, and bids her father farewell. Young Ro goes to Germany to visit this place that Soo Ho mentions, and is surprised to see it is a record store, similar to the one where they first meet. Young Ro cries a bit as she reminisces how she and Soo Ho had met and bonded. The person manning the store is the same foreigner as the one in Ep. 13.
The final scene goes like this...
Young Ro: Do you have one way ticket by Eruption?
Foreigner: One second, let me ask my manager.
The foreigner goes behind the curtains and some conversation can be heard.
The ambient music in the store suddenly stops. And we hear the song One-Way ticket start playing in the background.
Out of the curtain comes out Soo Ho, sporting a thick mustache. In his hand, he is holding some Magic Coffee.
The screen cuts to black.
The End
P.S.
I don't think the identity of the mole will ever be found out. But it could possibly be the old man, who is later captured and sent to a political prison. And his useless son, will end up visiting his father to take care of him, and that will be the end of their arc.
Doc Kang is not petty. She's not the nicest person but she has her principle.
Ahh, I am different I guess in that sense.
I value the plot, story, and logic. The visuals are a tertiary detail to me. And i'm not really biased to Kim Hye Yoon, I only discovered her in this drama.
But I do watch a lot of western shows, and I love grey characters, underdog stories, and redemption arcs.
People wonder why is Boon Ok so selfish and greedy?Look no further at the current situation. Almost every single…
Personally, I don't defend Boon Ok's actions. She has clearly made wrong moves. I sympathize with her, and I feel she is certainly redeemable.
I've seen my share of shows/movies/books/plays and etc... I've seen tragic heroes from Darth Vader to Willy Loman. For me Boon Ok is not a one dimensional villain, but rather a multi-faceted tragic hero, who like most tragic hero, will get her redemption but at a severe cost to her.
It's just funny how people would rather root for a nice villain, rather than a tragic hero.
Doc Kang is not petty. She's not the nicest person but she has her principle.
But people like Boon Ok exist in real life. That jealousy, the pettiness, the spite. And we have friends who are like this, and yet we are still friends, we get them second chances even.
I just find it weird a person like Boon Ok, who is pretty realistic, has not much sympathy.
Other then than the trigger pulling, nothing Boon Ok has done is inhuman. And the trigger pull wasn't done out of cold blood, there is actual provocation first. Not that I am defending it.
She's being portrayed as an emotional punching bag, who just laden's herself with guilt every episode. The plot…
I wish they had fleshed out the relationship between Young Ro and her family. I have a hard time believing what I am seeing between Young Ro and her dad, they way they act as if Young Ro hasn't been missing for 10 years.
I will admit, this type of unhealthy relationship maybe common during 1987, but do you really think the writer had that in mind when creating this romance? Under modern lenses the romance is not that healthy.
I can appreciate that Soo Ho was never going to push through with it, but after seeing him brutally kill a "Traitor" in his training, it all just feels so sudden. This all could have been written better to show more background rather than just having viewer's fill in the gap.
Young Ro ask several times for Soo Ho to let them go, he says no. That is the power imbalance there. If there is no power imbalance, Young Ro is free to do what she wants and when she wants. Obviously now it's too dangerous for her to go out, but in the beginning when she was asking for it, he said no several times.
Doc Kang is not petty. She's not the nicest person but she has her principle.
And I agree with that. I am not arguing what Boon Ok has done is correct. It is clearly wrong.
But I am curious why the hate seems to be with so much vitriol, and with zero sympathy, on a clearly grey character, in a show where they are characters who are actually purely black?
Yes/ no Mostly no Sooho will be in that position either way, Nk wanted to kill Soo ho, they gave the clue to ANSP…
The original plan was not to kill soo ho. It just became the eventual sacrifice to secure the money.
Your implying they wanted for soo ho to die from the very beginning? There is no proof of this, just conjecture. They did eventually want Soo ho to die, but it's more because that is what it will take for NK to get the money. It is shown that with the presence of Cheong Ya, saving the spies was at one point their prime directive until situation changed.
The fact of the matter is, Soo Ho stops to daydream because of his feelings for her, he rides his bike back because of his feelings for her. Part of Young Ro's playing nurse with Soo Ho in the earlier episodes is because of her crush on him. It can then be argued that the hostage situation, if you had taken out Young Ro from the equation, would not have ended up like this. It may not have happened at all if Young Ro had not hidden Soo Ho in the first place.
Kang Moo and Hanna are shown to be honest ANSP agents. So for all we know, if Soo Ho had been turned in to Kang Moo, maybe he would have been given a fair trial, and they would have figured out project phoenix anyway.
The writer made boon ok a nice girl persona in the first two episodes.
So I guess people didn't enjoy seeing her be bad.
I agreed, the other characters should be more or equally hated. But I see nothing. Just one sided boon ok hate.
I noticed the hate stems from the fact that book ok is singling out poor innocent young ro. But what people are ignoring is that boon ok actually has a valid point.
Since we see in the episode preview, that once they know Young Ro is the daughter of the ANSP director, she is going to be blamed, I think it's worth asking this debate question.
Is the hostage situation in the dorm, Young Ro's fault? We clearly see the roommates of Young Ro are actually going to be leading the witch hunt.
Their act is not noble at all. Lee Kwang Tae could have gotten them all killed.
No complaints on them in the comment section though βΊοΈ
For me Hye roung is a bully, and yet no one dislikes her. Just watch. Episode 14 Hye roung will start blaming young ro, and yet boon ok will still get all the hate. π
While everyone went to the prayer room. They selfishly were trying to escape. They didn't care about the consequences or cared about the other hostages.

Western shows are MUCH MUCH more willing to push a show with poor visuals from the leads.
Where western shows trump Kdrama is mostly in plot strength, story telling, procedurals, and character depth.

IMO Lee Kwang Tae has done more despicable things, yet he gets not much hate.
No one talks about Hye roung being a bully because she is bullying boon ok, who people hate. So it's accepted.
Is the hostage situation in the dorm, Young Ro's fault? We clearly see the roommates of Young Ro are actually going to be leading the witch hunt.
Cheong ya is going to blow them all up with the detonator. And if not for boon okz they all die. But everyone just forget it.
