A good well written character, elicits sympathy.A poorly written one, actively begs for it.
Maybe it's a matter of personal taste.
But I find Gray characters more interesting. And part of making a character gray is the succession of events that leaves gives the motives of character some ambiguity.
The tightrope a good writer will cross is how does one manage the grayness of the character, without making him/her lose it's original intention.
A well written character will come in all shades of gray, and the complexities of the character, the trials and tribulations he/she chooses to do or not to do will elicit sympathy, assuming that is the writers original goa.
A poorly written character tends to be one dimensional with his/her ambiguity never placed in question. These type of characters, as if in a rehearsed play, will give the audience visual cues when one should cry, laugh, and empathize with him/her.
Unpopular opinion: I’m starting to dislike Jipyung. I miss the Jipyung from the earlier episodes when he was…
Then the writers succeeded. The reason you like the earlier HJP is because we all loved the earlier HJP. His character had great complexities, and had such an interesting backstory.
I think at around EP 7 and above, the writers have slowly been writing him to be a petty jealous jerk, very unlike his earlier characterization. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that HJP was giving a lot of people SLS.
Keep in mind this is an ongoing show, so they writers can still change the script.
Yeah love triangle rarely serve much of a purpose. I think the problem with Start Up is the second lead HJP became too powerful. More often than not second leads are called second leads for a reason, they normally have less stage presence, less screen time, less chemistry with the FL.
it seems you're here 24/7 :-Dnothing personally & nothing bad, just wondering)) don't you have any work, study,…
until a vaccine is out, i'm not risking my health. What people are not understanding is, even if you recover from Covid, there is a chance you'll get life long complications.
I've watched a decent amount of kdrama since covid started lol.
Me personally I rarely get attached to any actors/actress. Except my queen Gong Hyo Jin. >.<
It's a plot device used to portray HJP in a worst light. This will make SDM realize that HJP is not a good person,…
HJP did not kill the brother. But most likely his harsh critique or tough line of questioning made yong san's brother company look bad, making them not get any investor on demo day.
And if you've poured your life's work into getting into sandbox only to leave without anything, it's crushing for some people. Some people are not able to do deal with it.
HJP takes pleasure in corrupting young innocent people. The only reason he became a venture capitalist is because he enjoys crushing people's dreams.
But our hero NDS is too strong willed to fall to such a tyrant. Glad someone is finally standing up to that super bully in HJP.

Better just let SDM be solo until NDS is ready to come back and marry her.
NDS as he is right now is a wreck, he does not know what to do, he has bad work life balance, and is not prioritizing properly.
He needs to grow up, SDM also. And when they are both adults, then they can see if their relationship is a mature one, or still the same as before.
Call us every name under the sun, and we will still think so, because we are HJP fans.
Plus i'm not a fan of guys who keep acting like a victim.
