after hearing good reviews about this show and seeing the comment session i finally decided to give this drama…
The PD's did give NDS every romantic scene in the book. The slow motion panning shots, the wonderfully lit backgrounds, the sunsets, the full moons, I mean they were literally force feeding the romance at one point. So I don't think that was the problem.
To be fair most of episode 1 was young HJP.
I think other than his reasons being shallow, people didn't relate with a guy who basically makes his company Samsam tech his whole life, and he wanted it to succeed with his two friends. But the minute the hot girl showed kindness to him, he basically becomes a love slave who doesn't care much about his company and does whatever the girl tells him to do. I think a lot of people got turned off by this.
This is where the time skip comes in. Basically everything that the audience dislike from NDS will undoubtedly be fixed after the time skip, and i'm sure to justify this, they will make HJP more of a villain/jerk SL. The writing is already on the wall.
Yeah the yongsan thing seemed too forced.
I kind of disagree here. If this was the real world, there is no reason SDM should be succeeding the way she is, and there should be no way that SDM is succeeding more than WIJ. It takes more than overnight cram sessions to be a good CEO. Keep in mind WIJ was a major player in making the morning group as huge as it is.
I think even if they tighten up the plot the last 6 episodes, the lack of consistency throughout the show has left a sour taste in my mouth. I can not rank this more than an 8.4-8.5 in ratings.
I think a lot of the mistakes you point out here falls on the writers shoulder. Let me explain. In the writers…
this is my first time to see NJH so I can't comment on it.
But I will say one thing, NDS is suppose to be this insecure, low self esteem, and supposedly awkward guy.
The NDS that I noticed is someone who is a bit neurotic, with a spiteful edge in him, who is always looking down, and you feel he is thinking all these not so good thoughts. Ever since ep 3 he has lost all innocence he used to have. And i'm not sure if that's what the writer had intended.
he isnt pursuing her even now... he told her he likes her and took a back seat and didnt do anything just to pursue…
The way I see it, HJP purposely downplayed his confession. He didn't do any grand gesture, or brought gifts or tried to impress her.
He easily could have said things like, the connection they had 15 years ago was real and etc... But it seems more like he is just giving her a heads up, it's up to her what she does with the info, and it's no pressure.
I think he was also letting her know if she decided to choose NDS, he would be ok with it.
Now, some people saw the way he talked to Dosan to tell that he confessed to dalmi was him gloating his victory over NDS. I didn't see it that way. I think HJP was just being frank and honest, and letting NDS know that SDM knows about HJP feelings for her. Because if HJP wanted to compete, he could have said some gloating words, like i'm coming to get your girl, or i'll make SDM mine or something. But instead, he just tells NDS matter of fact, that he can't be helping NDSN no more because he confessed to like SDM.

Ofc I prefer a HJP end game, but I also know 99.9% it's dosan end game.
I also prefer the second lead, but I have no problem if FL ends with ML or ends up with no men in her life. I just want to see where HJP journey will end.
I actually see HJP more as the ML, and SDM and NDS are both supporting characters hahaha
I sometimes think the writer intended to create a adorkable, naïve, sensitive, and pure hearted character (like…
I think the problem is not NJH, it's the character.
Initially, Ep. 1 NDS is someone most tech guys/programmers/engineers can relate too. Plays videogames, sloppy, doesn't dress well, socially awkward, and etc...
They should have stuck with that, then very slowly, start showing his insecurities, ambition, flaws, and etc...
But nope, the writers and PD were like, ok, we're going to change his character to be an angsty teenager, with huge insecurity issues, problems with authority, and a great haircut! while trying to keep his ep. 1 characteristic.
The problem is, they failed. What so many people fell in love with in early NDS disappeared after he changes to the suit and got the haircut.
So fans were only able to fall in love with him for max 2 episodes, after that it's been gaffe after gaffe.
HJP on the other hand, started on the right foot, we see a young man whose rough exterior and harsh words hides a very vulnerable, damaged, man who yearns for a family in his life. And since HJP's characterization as the good boy stays consistent up until Ep 7 or max Ep. 8, he has built a bigger fanbase than NDS, as more people have enjoyed and related better to his character.

I used to get addicted to much worst things, so Kdrama and MDL isn't too bad.

90% love triangle
5% move the business side of the plot
5% side character, including WIJ
This drama is just one big giant love triangle, with plot sprinkled in between.
Like what else is there to discuss with the show, i'm curious? Other than the love triangle, nothing else is fleshed out.
