She doesn't. But she clearly takes her roomies side over boon ok, and doesn't try to understand Boon Ok.
Her "friendship" with Boon Ok is not a very strong one. And it's no surprise it easily breaks when it's found out Young Ro like's Soo Ho.
At the current state of Young Ro and Boon Ok's friendship, I am hoping the writer doesn't make Boon Ok later sacrifice herself to save the hostages. Wouldn't make sense in my mind.
If they want to make Boon Ok a villian, I want her to go full villain, no more last minute redemption arcs. I want her to unleash her true self.
And with Gyeok Chan at her side, nothing can stop her!
Oh gosh never thought twitter was such a toxic place why is everybody fighting over stupid things like are they…
As long as I've been on MDL. For any ongoing Kdrama, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms have always been more extreme, toxic, and crazy than MDL.
How much more famous do you want him to be? He already has near 8M followers on IG. That's pretty big.
Even I won't deny Lee Min Ho is handsome. But these days, visuals is that last thing I look for in a Kdrama. I prefer more complex character, and duality.
Something LMH, and his characters rarely have.
Plus he can't act. He literally has one acting style across all his dramas.
Although the old man seems very helpful and sweet, for some reason his son, despises him and blames him for how he turned out. Of course it's easy to just imagine the son is a spoiled brat, but what if there is more to the old man that we think?
The Old man has been shown to be willing to lie at the drop of the hat. We see this when Ms. Pi was going up to find Young Ro and Soo Ho in earlier episodes. Why then, when Boon Ok was telling stories, the old man was so forthcoming? There is a belief that when a person looks to the right, they are lying. When the old man is asked by Kang Moo for clarification of what he saw, we see the old man glance to the right, clear his throat, before telling his tale.
There is a good chance that he is not telling the entire truth. The flashback may be a ruse by the writer to make us believe certain things. The old man may have change certain information to color the flashback differently, since the flashback is being told from his perspective.
Now I am thinking about how the old man is quick to come to the aid of the chief cook. It could just simple be, because he is being helpful. It could also be that they are co-colluders. Now consider this, the previous hall mistress is quite young still. And the way her personality seems, she is proud to be a hall mistress, and proud of Hosu Dorm's traditions. I don't believe she would willingly quit if not for her health reasons. She was reviewing not just Ms. Pi's resume, but other potential ones as well. But her boss is forcing her to hire Ms. Pi.
Now, I am thinking, the hall mistresses don't go to eat out much. Most of their meals are prepared in the dorm. Is it possible perhaps that the chief cook has been SLOWLY poisoning the hall mistress? Maybe adding a bit of poison little by bit in her food, until she herself quits. But when, she was adamant about not letting Ms. Pi take over, the boss above, may have ordered the old man and the chief cook to fully poison the old hall director, and make it appear like a suicide.
Now the why of all of this, I have to think for another theory session.
And finally, she will have a gun and have actual power, and those dorm girls have to respect her?
Yes please! sign me up for that! I am sure Kim Hye Yoon is going to revel in it. I am prepared for Boon Ok the villain!

They treat her poorly, (Young Ro initially doesn't, but eventually does), nobody respects her, they look down on her.
Why shouldn't she be on Team NK?

More grey characters in general for Kdrama.
Enough single toned characterization. Kdrama audience is mature enough to not need it anymore.
It would open up the debate as well on the FL and ML. Rather than one sided idolization on ships.
Isn't he already an Hallyu star? He has dramas on Netflix, he starred with Suzy?
What determines Hallyu status?

There is bad blood between both countries until now.
2. In those old times, not impossible to be pregnant at that age.
3. north Koreans have sent their children to sk for studies. There are even nks studying all over the world.
4. 64 is not impossible to be a grandfather of sooho.
Also in romeo and Juliet, Juliet is 13 years old when she has sex with romeo.
You can get pregnant at 15 no problem.
I've always had the impression communist spies are like gyeok chan.
Soohoos portrayal is not the norm.
