Might just be the pitfalls of being in a large fandom.
I am sure mob mentality, and group think are very common occurrences . No one wants to be that girl/guy who is different from the rest, otherwise they collapse on you pretty fast.

Every time someone replies to my comments that I don't recognize, I am afraid it's someone who will blast me for not calling Snowdrop the best drama of all eternity, or how come I am not saying Jisoo is the best actress in the world.
It's like being in a public forum, but you are unable to give any opinion, but the majority approved ones?
It was never this bad in other comment section, but I guess since this one has a Blackpink member, it's gotten pretty crazy lately.
I was just thinking about the ages and timeline of how things happened. But first thing, a little disclaimer. I realize that in Kdrama, they OFTEN, not ALWAYS will pair the characters close to the actors/actresses age. So for example Jisoo is 27 years old, her character Young Ro is 20 years old. Jung Hae In is 33 years old and Soo Ho is 27 years old. So it's either older or younger, but it's rarely a huge difference. I also know Ms. Pi is 43 years old. So this got me thinking.
We know that Soo Ho is 27 years old, meaning his birth date is approx. 1961. His dad, assuming he married and had Soo Ho at 23, would have been born in 1938. You see Lim Ji Rok's actor is Jeon Moo Song, who is 80 years old, so I am assuming his character is somewhere in that age group. Which really would not make sense that he is the stepfather who married Soo Ho's mom. And the way Soo Ho seems to care for his "Father" made me think. Is it possible that Lim Ji Rok is actually Soo Ho's Grandfather?
It would make sense plot wise, since Young Ro is raised by her Grandmother for most of her life, just like Soo Ho is raised by his Grandfather for most of his life. It is not uncommon for people who have been raised solely by their grandparents to consider their grandparents their father/mother. I've seen this portrayed in other movies as well.
Now back to Soo Ho's dad. You see, I believe he is the original Taedong River 1, sent to Germany to find Koreans to defect to North Korea. I think when the dad went to Germany, that is where he meets Ms. Pi. Who has just left Hosu Dorm to study in Germany. It is there that they begin a love affair that resulted in a pregnancy of Soo Ho in 1961. You know what else was established in 1961? That's correct, the ANSP was established in 1961 during the reign of Park Cheung Hee. I believe that Soo Ho's dad was actually the one who defected to South Korea. The couple continued to stay in South Korea and eventually had another baby, Soo Ho's sister. Eventually the ANSP caught up with them. fully knowing what would happen to NK spies, Ms. Pi decided to send Soo Ho's dad and the kids back to NK. Ms. Pi is then captured, tortured, and later released as an ANSP informant. What is happening with Young Ro and Soo Ho, could be a repeat of what transpired with Soo Ho's parents.
Seeing as the dad is a traitor the country, Lim Ji Rok, much like Eun Cho, had no choice but to send his son to the "mines" or concentration camp for being a traitor to NK. At this time, he also adopts his grand children as his own. And ironically enough, he passes on the code name of Taedong River 1 from father to son to continue the mission. Because his son is seen as a traitor, Lim Ji Rok has fallen out of favor. He has become desparate to get that money from SK to curry favor from the supreme leader,
Since Soo Ho is so young when he went to NK, Ms. Pi doesn't recognize him anymore. But in Ep. 1, her motherly instincts kicks in, and she protects her son without knowing it.
Theory # 2
I was thinking about Cheong Ya. Once again, let's talk ages. She is suppose to be 34 in the story. I don't think Cheong Ya is in love with Soo Ho. But could it be possible, she is actually his Aunt? Could she be Lim Ji Rok's daughter? Maybe Lim Ji Rok sends his daughter Cheong Ya to really save his grandson?
Lim Ji Rok mentions, "When have we let the South tell us what to do" So maybe the plan is after the 10 days, they will save their spies. We assume, from media brainwashing that NK is always the bad guy, what if the writer wants to subvert expectations, where NK actually REALLY just wants their people to come back, while it is actually SK who wants to kill the hostages?
Theory # 3
If not Soo Ho's aunt. Cheong Ya is suppose to be a surgeon. She could be a plastic surgeon, that performed surgery on herself to changer her face so that Boon Ok doesn't recognize her. She will later reveal her identity to Boon Ok, causing Boon Ok to take her side.
Let people ship who they want. No problem with that.I am still on Kang moo x Soo Ho ship!Hae in and Jisoo look…
I know it doesn't stand very well compared to today's modern production values, but that show was really amazing, and so many scenes my heart ached so much!
Boon Ok has shown pretty solid character growth past few episodes. But the writing may feel that it is necessary…
When she realized she cost her own freedom, that was the beginning.
You could see in her eyes soo ho put her in her place.
She no longer was witch hunting young ro. Instead the voices were coming from other hostages.
In the hostage situation, we see her become even more defensive, she is fighting for self preservation, and it's showing. We don't see greed, or ambition, she just wants to live because her parents relay on her.
In comparison, look at lee Hwang Tae, his character shows no character growth and still remains the same person. That shows.besf when he continues to string Seoul hee along due to her wealth.
Boon ok, still cannot get rid of her pettiness, but she's trying.
Just watch the bathroom scene between her and old man son, she is actually defending old man.
Contrary to what people think, there is good in boon ok.
Which of the other 3 BPinks fans are the worst? Must be Lisa's since she is the most popular.
I don't think Kdrama actor fans get this bad. Even Lee Min Ho's fan are more tolerable.
I am sure mob mentality, and group think are very common occurrences . No one wants to be that girl/guy who is different from the rest, otherwise they collapse on you pretty fast.
You should watch The Greatest Love, really encapsulates all this. You might even relate to it LOL!
Plus you will discover Gong Hyo Jin, she is an amazing actress!

I don't get it either, but it is what it is.
Greatest Love is an old show, so don't mind the visuals, or the corny jokes. For me the though, the feels hit home.
I don't find gyeok chan to be impulsive or have anger issues.
He is acting literally how I've seen north Koreans portrayed. At least from the movies I've seen.
And if I combine this with the movies about Russian KGB I've seen, seems pretty normal.
No problem with that.
I am still on Kang moo x Soo Ho ship!
Hae in and Jisoo look good. But I don't think it's worth getting together with Kpop and their fandom. It's too much baggage.
I watch this drama the greatest love, and it's about crazy fans and stuff.
You could see in her eyes soo ho put her in her place.

I am talking about the fact she's showing self reflection, self awareness and the foundation of a redemption arc is forming.
Korea split in 1948. So if suho is born 1961, the dad could have been born before Korea separate d in 1948.
Boon ok seems to be SK.
Soo ho is adopted, so could just be his old name.
Also since suho is 27 yrs old and Korean split 1948. His real dad could have been SK and mom is nk. Who got split in Korean war.
