This drama specially got unfairly censored too strictly forcing scenes to be cut and story line is disconnected.…
Whoa, this is getting more interesting albeit more sinister. Poor Dylan! He has worked so hard; he does not deserve this. I was just reading some comments on Twitter about Dylan and Esther performing on different stages during China’s 2023 Internet Audio-Visual Festival . So they're a real-life couple? It's ironic, their separate performance seems to confirm their status😂 What happened to Dylan's non-celeb gf? Pardon the battery of questions; this is getting as interesting as Unchained Love😂
The misinformation about the degree of censorship this drama underwent is getting ridiculous. I just read a Twitter post saying that the storyline was chopped off to such extent that, if not for those who read the novel, nobody would understand the story.
Poor Unchained Love, it seems like it really is being sabotaged 😥
To those who haven't watched the drama, please know that I only read the first page of the novel and stopped reading because I wanted to find the story out from the drama. I didn't watch the cut scenes. And I love the drama! The romance is as sweet and heart-fluttering as I like dramas to be. There are even more romantic scenes in it than many cdramas I've watched. What had been cut are those scenes that show how passionate and wild the couple is. But the drama still shows their passion.
The censored scenes are the steamier ones that might show how passionate and wild the couple is, but not needed to show how much the couple love each other. The drama leaves enough romantic scenes in. In fact, there are more romantic scenes left than in many cdramas I've watched.
When an MDL comment section has 97% of comments bawling over it and overusing the word best show, I then smell…
UL fandom is deeply engrossed in the drama due to its thought-provoking story and unique characters and tends to ignore negative comments, thus negativity does not proliferate. It seems the same thing happened in Weibo, where the UL fandom was praised by casual viewers for giving them a pleasant viewing experience, generally focusing on the plot in their comments and not resorting to negativity. It is an amiable environment where commenters are welcome to be effusive with their admiration for the drama.
I think being disgusting was what the role called for, the more disgusting, the more effective :)
For sure. Those who want her with Xiao Duo would be mad at her for leading Fu on (as I did 😄 She didn't really let Fu know that she didn't like him. I think from the point of view of Fu, she liked him, e.g. she praised his lantern). And those on Team Fu would say she's stupid for choosing somebody else over the emperor 😅
None that festered. The leads are so in tune with each other that even when the FL once tried to push the ML away to protect him, he did not buy it for long
'Love how the ending is consistent with the uniqueness of the story and characters. I've never seen a cdrama ending like this before. While other cdramas portray triumph, jubilation and new beginning with a kiss between the leads or better yet, a wedding, such an ending would be out of character here. Needless to say, I'm happy with the poetic ending.
Everybody saying different things... confused... does it at least have good romance???
it is a unique drama, with a unique story and characters, so it's not surprising that the ending is done in a unique way, too, i.e. one that doesn't conform with the norm :) the romance is the best part :)
I love all those scenes you mentioned. I feel this drama already has more romantic scenes than many cdramas I've watched. What do you say to compiling all the sweet scenes?
So, I'm at ep 25... and there are some deleted scenes on the boat (i guess he kissed her and she bit his lip,…
There is a Discussion topic entitled "Why scenes were cut" above the Comments section. Apparently, only the intimate scenes were cut so the rape and murder scenes were not. Another possible reason the rape scene was not cut is that in ancient Chinese culture, it was considered inappropriate for women to actively participate in intimacy. This is possibly another reason for cutting the intimate scenes since the FL was an active participant in those. In the rape scene, the FL was obviously not a willing participant so it was probably considered acceptable.
