I found this a riot 😂 Everybody's reaction was hilarious, from Xiao Duo's, "Get up, you're not dead" to Qilang's, "Don't you know whether you're dead or not?" to Cao Chun'ang's, "I'm inexperienced... it seemed appropriate for someone to die..." to Qilang's "I'm a real man, how could I cry because of you? I'm going to strangle you!" 😂 😂 😂

That's why I think the writing and acting are brilliant. There are a lot of subtle scenes like this that were conveyed successfully

it's amazing how he was able to communicate what he was thinking with just his facial expression 😂

It's the best cdrama I've watched in terms of revenge and palace politics/conspiracy. It's a masterpiece.

I didn't see the deleted scenes while I was watching yet I enjoyed the drama pretty well. The deleted scenes make up less than 1% of the whole and don't affect the story. They show how passionate and wild the main couple is. But the drama, even without those scenes, still show their passion.

The discussion topic "Why scenes were cut" gives insight on the censorship process this drama underwent. The topic "Compiled links of BTS, Deleted Scenes, Extended Ending + Extra Story" has links to the deleted scenes as well as two extension scenes for the ending.

My suggestion is to watch the drama first, then these deleted and extension scenes.

another amusing moment in the same vein as the knock-on-the-wall communication (exaggerated depiction of how synchronized XD's and BYL's brain-waves are) is when BYL was seeking XD’s help in setting up a date for Liangxu and Wanwan but she was tongue-tied yet XD knew exactly what she wanted to say even though she did not utter a single coherent word. Cao Chun’ang’s disbelief that XD understood what she meant adds to the comic effect

XD is so adorable, embodying the "fierce male turning into a needy kitten with his woman" trope

their banter is so amusing, you can tell how well they understand and delight in each other

My favorite subtle comedy moment is the knocking on the wall communication. It was absurd that anybody can encode, let alone decipher, a few knocks to convey long messages like, “aren’t I beautiful and gorgeous and you’re in love with me?” 🤣 Yet from Xiao Duo’s expression it seemed he understood them, though he decided to mess with her by saying he didn’t 😂😂😂. Dylan Wang deserves an award for conveying such complicated thoughts with his facial expressions 😂

I really love the subtle jokes in this drama. Xiao Duo's idea of packing lightly 😂 😂 😂 He must have been that period's Elon Musk 😂

it's not how it is in the book, though. Eternal Love (TMOPB) is a very good adaptation of the book.

it wasn't just the high-pitched voice of the FL that made me almost drop this drama. It was more her whiney, pouty, bratty behavior. Gosh, I hope to never encounter a female lead like her ever again. My admiration for Dylan Wang from Meteor Garden, Ever Night 2 and The Rational Life was what got me through to episode 9. Once it got to the part where DFQC reveals himself, I knew this drama was gonna be worth my time. It's now among my top 5 cdramas.
