Whatever happens, they will always have those sweet memories forever. If this were a simple love story, the series would have ended here. But this goes beyond.

I agree, it's a shame to attack shows that carry powerful positive messages. These hate groups are truly detestable. I used to think Douban ratings are more reliable than mdl or imdb because they have a system in place to catch these hate groups. But I just checked Ace Troops which I seem to recall might have been one of those that got attacked (I can't remember if it was Oath of Love or Ace Troops). Anyway, it still doesn't have a rating. I wonder if it's because it's classified as military/war and shows with this classification are not rated? If so, the joke is on the hate groups, downrating a show where the rating doesn't matter. But still, these hate groups should be given a lesson.

It's criminal how malicious antis of this drama are maltreating this well-executed, substantial drama in Douban. Most of their reviews are not even talking about the war plot but superficial stuff.

I think to give malicious antis a lesson, and this does not only apply to this drama but across the board, whenever there is sabotage going on as many Douban users are suspecting with this drama, all ratings below 3/5 should be ignored and those at 3/5 will be accepted only if accompanied by unique sane reviews (no copies) with at least 5,000 words or something like that. Is there a Douban user here? May something like this be suggested to Douban? Otherwise, the integrity of their rating system would suffer.

I heard something like this (low scores ignored or deleted) was done for other dramas where sabotage was suspected (was it Oath of Love?). I hope Douban does it for all dramas, not just those with powerful backers.

Or, might Runming unknowingly have been talking about himself? He was able to illuminate the path of many people after he left. Huajun decided to teach in the countryside. Jiashu transferred to the Dept of Physics. Runqing decided to work at the Aviation dept. His parents went to Hongkong.

Or is the light Jiashu or specifically, is Jiashu going to develop a nuclear or atomic energy that would generate such a light? if so, I hope it won't be an atomic bomb that would be used to terrorize other countries but a power source that would be used for peaceful purposes.

oh, I forgot the letter from Runming's father and that he witnessed his son's death, so he knew firsthand what happened. Yeah, raising such a perfect son would have required exceptional parents. And Runming's parents are. I also love how his mom told Huajun she considers the young woman her daughter. The orphaned Huajun needed that.

It's amazing how well the actors were selected. With just his facial expression and demeanor, Wen Jie gives off the impression that he is up to no good. He can't forgive Jiashu for suspecting him of being a spy and won't acknowledge Jiashu's attempts to be friendly. His obsequiousness to Wen Yi Duo is really creepy. Joining the Three Youth League just so he can have money and chances of promotion is devious and tacky. And letting the shop owner think he is buying a gift for his girlfriend is shady if not pathetic. He could have said it was for a friend, but maybe he really thinks it's just a matter of time before Huajun becomes his girlfriend.

So true. Runming's death was so tragic. His parents bore it much better than I expected them to. Their son could have been anything he aspired to be. He had it in him. I'm also surprised they did not blame Jiashu. But it seems Jiashu didn't tell anybody but Bi YunXiao about Runming's sacrifice. Jiashu's guilt could have broken him had he been a weaker man. But being able to get past the guilt and even using that guilt to prod him into finding his destiny shows that Runming's sacrifice was not in vain.

Thanks so much for giving a fuller description of those episodes. That scene when he went back from Wuhan was so heavy with restrained emotions and unsaid things. Turns out Huajun did confess. What did she say?

Yeah, at this point, Jiashu is still trying to find out how he can be "useful". It would be fascinating going on this journey of discovery with him knowing how earnestly Dylan would portray his role.

I like their pairing. They've got strong chemistry. So cute bonding over cooled hot water and those big cups 😅

That reunion between him and Huajun in ep25 is so heart-fluttering. It's obvious they care for each other. But I think they are both feeling guilty of having feelings for the other person while Runming was still around. Add to it Jiashu's guilt of being saved by Runming and one can't help wondering: will they ever confess to each other?
