Any k-drama watchers feel like Li Chong Wen really resembles Gu Woong (Ahn Bo-Hyun) from Yumi's Cells, from certain angles? His smile and his height too..... :')
People, get past the first few episodes and it really starts getting good! It's actually pretty hilarious, Song…
I think the first proper hint was the wishlist-bottle opening scene at the reunion, where a certain-someone didn't want to show his little wish-page! xD What's sad is how the first time, she was busy swooning over the skeevy senior to notice. And this time too, she's really clueless once again. I like how the characterization is built around the background, situations and personalities, which is why it's pretty believable why he would never tell, and she would never notice! :P :')
Please, it BETTER be true they got Bii to sing one of the tracks (preferable the ED credits song). I cannot imagine a more PERFECT match given his Korean X Taiwanese parentage! Would be a touching tribute to the original indeed! <3
Hidden gems are no good, writers and producers wouldn't be encouraged to make similar dramas in the future.
I dunno if c-ent has an equivalent of Hollywood sleeper-hits. But this one has all the makings to be one! Though I reckon you're right about writers wanting instant gains to fuel their creativity (as opposed to delayed gratification!) Such a catch-22 tbh! :')
I really love Song Zuer here. She is so cute and her acting is so natural. Her silliness is very similar to Zhao…
I have flashbacks to Lusi's Chen Qian Qian (Tiger & Rose) every now & then, who I loved to bits!!!! But thinking back, CQQ could be a little OTT, and Lareina Song's delivery is more natural in comparison! I think a core difference between the two is that CQQ came across as childish, but Qian Wei is petty and feisty even at 28! xD
I have conflicting feelings regarding this drama. On one hand, I want it to make it big and trend everywhere. But then again, I also want it to remain a hidden gem, in it's own, little niche. T_T Such a special story this one is!!! <3 <3
This drama is a nugget of pure joy!!!!💕 From the bubbly Song Zu'er who keeps breaking the 4th wall with her straight-faced FYIs, her money-minded & go-getter personality, the bickering pair of leads, the hilarious bunch of college friends, the touching moments between Qian Wei & her dad (who's dead in the present), the current ex-bf who's trying to woo her (& hilariously failing cuz our homegirl is wise now!)... Augh, such a fun story and it warms every corner of my heart! Unlike regular college stories, this is one is certainly a visit to the past, and a trip through the nostalgia lane (Sony Xperia phones, anyone?)
A MUST WATCH FOR ANYONE who attended college between 2011-2015!!!!! 🥰
Okay but the way older heedo said she doesn't remember the school trip seems sarcastic to me? plus when she said…
Not just sarcastic. There is a clear difference being *forgetting* ('oh... did I go to the beach? which trip are you talking about?.... ahhh, that one, yeahhh! I remember now!) and *denial* ('did i ever go to the beach? I'm pretty sure that I didn't. no, I never went to a school trip)... And that's major sus. Also, Hee-Do and Mum not talking about Dad, pretending, and Hee-Do's resentment of her Mom 'forgetting'.... I think that's a very intentional parallel to why she doesn't want to talk about the beach-trip. It's funny how young ladies are like 'I'm nothing like my Mom', and turn out to be exactly like them! :')
This is precisely why I dislike Netflix translations. Subbers know no nuance -_-
And he almost confessed had he not been interrupted by Hee-Do's mom!!! Though I can imagine seeing her with her legal guardian must not have been a good look! No wonder he delayed that confession! 😅

Mine showed I love you. But I know Yi-Jin didnt say exactly that, because the grammar/ sentence construction sounded different from what actors say in other dramas, when they wish to say 'I love you'. Glad you pointed out it was 'I've been loving you' instead! I interpreted it as 'it's been love all along'... ;D
But Kamiiiiikiiiiiiiiiii!!!!! T____T <3
