Thyme: As someone who really hated all the other versions of the ml in the other one Thyme is quite refreshing…
Agree with everything you said xD I think the whole viewer-reception of f4 and especially Thyme/Ren's characters is not completely dependent on how each version of the Live-Adaptations present them. Sure, a large part of it relies on the director & his interpretation, but I also think some of it depends on how familiar we are with the story & how well we know it, if at all. Someone who has watched all 4 versions will have a very different perspective of seeing the characters/ f4 as compared to a newbie? :')
Ps. I love MJ too!! And, I think some of the changes they made to the narrative/ structure of the plot, is plain genius! ^^
The plagiarizing controversy... is that the fan?The candle-lit scenes... When I first saw the pictures of the…
Yes, it was the fan but they apologised and compensated the artist. But it seems they copied ALL the important fight scenes (including the ones we love) to the T. The choreo, the camaera-work etc is all lifted from an animated series. :'(
SSS is not what i imagined it would, based on the trailer. Watching for Vengo's antagonist role, and i don't even like poetic dialogues, but i'm loving it here. Also, major heart eyes for Zhang Ruoyun! ā¤
At 1.25X speed, sounds almost identical chord progression! f4:Thailand however does the track on a xylophone-ish sounding instrument. Just like f4 taiwan's Meteor Shower song. The team really said: 'I'mma pay tribute to ALL the earlier adaptations!'š
Like many Iām guessing, I started watching Luoyang because of Wang Yibo. Despite what others may think, I truly…
The social-commentary on class-differences is very touchingly written, I have to agree! And Gao Bingzhu embodies all the rage, defiance, despair and hope towards unity so beautifully! :')
Agh, it seems like it was just yesterday when we were discussing Luoyang & your article, and it's out already! Stunningly laid-out, and beautifully explained, as always Cho Na! :') I'm only caught up to ep 10, and I must say this, I have major heart-eyes for Huang Xuan, such a strong actor. One can watch the entirety of the drama just to admire his performance. What shocks me, is critics claiming it's not even one of his best works! xD
I IMMENSELY enjoy the candle-lit scenes in expensive period-drama production, and I think that's where Luoyang's cinematography truly shines! I tuned in for the camera-work, and surprisingly stayed for the fight-choreographies! I do not care about the plagiarizing controversy, even though I should... it's just THAT good! ^^ A+ for selecting actors with dancing backgrounds, wise decision indeed!
The Unwelcome Well also got me reading a lot on the Longmen Grottoes and the architecture of Luoyang! I like how you mentioned the dialogues are the weakness here: true... especially since I'm loving the beautiful lines in SSS. Though, I must say, the plot being relatively easy to follow helps my brain relax a little, because keeping track of 5 names of a single characters, and their individual relationships, becomes the most time-consuming! xD Ps. Your favorites, Cho Na, I agree to EVERY single one of them. Hehe, it's fun to see our tastes overlap! :') T
My Honest Review Of #F4THAILANDEP2 1. Gorya deserves the world she deserves everything fuck those fake ass hoes…
Re: Cindy. Woman doesn't need a single line or a word to scare the shit out of you. Her glare, & her disapproving look are enough. I would NOT be surprised if she sits on a couch one day, and out come hundreds of gangsters in black suits, sunglasses & guns, and she turns out to be their lady-bawse! š„ I also think she's the LEAST maternal-looking out of ALL the ML-moms. š
Uhh, since no new episode on 1/1, can they at least release a new soundtrack please? šš½ I'm going crazy singing 'You are my shoooo~ting starrr!' š
I find myself relating to all of your thoughts here lol. What kinda shit is that? Haha.Ren, a diva at his best.…
Aww chingu, we are in the minority, calling Ren out on his BS. Most are Ren fangirls here (as a young viewer back in 2005, I was too!) :')
Ren's VERY lucky to be played by an actor with Dew's looks and drawing talent. I remember in the Manga, I was like, 'oh boy, you had it coming (when Tsukushi friend-zones him!) xD You deserve to be rejected, for leading her on like that...' I know with Dew as Ren, I will marginally ALSO feel sorry for his character, because in the end, no matter what kind of an ass he is rn, he still realizes his love for Tsukushi too late! :')
I have been waiting 20 years for Thailand to release a F4 version! If you are a fan of Thai dramas, it makes sense…
Best Comment here today. I'm always happy when fans get their dream-cast. Tbh, I too thought the premise was very Lakorn-ish. Though, more than Cinderella, I get 'Beauty & the Beast' flashbacks! :')

Thanks Ira & Sunflower for the notice! š
Guess what, the director loves ALL 4 previous versions. Don't believe me?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI7mpIIFyHM&t=446s 14:40 is an instrumental track from f4: thailand (when Thyme has his 'Eureka' moment)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLVt_RjQJiY 31:14 is Ximen's theme song from MG 2018 (the most popular & well-used instrumental track from MG 2018)

Kavin might get lucky, iykyk! š
