Oh hell yeah, I like the pairings they're in now, but if there was a prequel BL of Chengyu and Chi Cheng hooking up in their younger years I'd be seated af. lol

Despite the plot sounding wild yet curious, I'm tapping out of this after ep1. I was already struggling with the rushed intro scenes, then the guy resurrecting like that had me shaking my head, because maybe I'm a little too picky on details, but dead bodies have to go through a morgue first, bro woke up looking like he stepped out of a magazine shoot. They're glazing over the whole 'rising from the dead' thing just a little too lackadaisically for my taste. Then within 17 minutes we get a poorly executed trip and fall 'accidental' kiss. Yikes, I know tropes will always exist, but they should at least try not to do them so badly.
On a good note, the two ML's body game is on point, and their over all visual is not bad, it's not enough to keep me watching, but I'm sure those who keep watching won't mind the view. Anyhoo, I'ma head out ✌️

SKAM Norway (the original series ) came out in 2015 too. And I'm not being mean when I say this, but I seriously doubt Julie Andem was reading incoherent Chinese fanfiction (poorly translated by fans) on Wattpad 😂 Actually, SKAM was probably influenced by Romeo & Juliet's underwater kissing scene, SKAM is not the first series to do underwater kisses, just the gay kind lol

Yes! I watched all the SKAM series, and while EvanIsak will always be the special number #1's because they were the original, for me the best of all of them was Sander and Robbe in wtFOCK, then SKAM France, then SKAM original (Norway), DRUCK and SKAM Italy were just okay imo. SKAM is still putting out series btw, and France was extended but with new characters.
So I went to skim through the novel again (which I dropped a long time ago) because I was having flashbacks of certain....things, I remember reading. And I found what I was looking for and I realized that my 'headcanon' of Chengyu and Chi Cheng's history is actually canon and now my brain is working overtime. I didn't even remember it was canon but it obviously burned itself into my brain back then, and now I'm wondering if the show will keep in that little piece of information.

Most prominently, The Eighth Sense from SK comes to mind because many parts of the BL were influenced by SKAM, the producer was a westerner for that one, so the story and the cinematography were quite clearly influenced by it. Next I can think of We Best Love, they also did an underwater kiss. Then HIStory: Make Our Days Count which didn't do an underwater kiss but over all there were elements of the story that were like a lengthier Taiwanese version of SKAM's basic plot outline (albeit with a drastically different end lol) There were some others too, some other BLs did the underwater kiss as well, like Dark Blue Kiss...and I can't remember others rn, only these easily come to mind.
My fave SKAM was actually wtFOCK, their underwater/pool kiss was fire. But of course, EvanIsak were the bomdiggity too.

Ah I think none of the shows I recc'd contain the level of danger in The Spirealm, besides The Guest, which you watched, and Ultimate Note, every episode the ML is in some kind of kind of trouble. TDJ has some danger but nothing supernatural or like TS. Strange Tales of Jiang Cheng, also with Xia Zhiguang (but younger) is also a sort of bromance and there is danger he faces and has to be saved from but again, nothing on the constant level of TS. Imo S.C.I was boring, there wasn't all that much good action.
