Actually 38. It was a formatting choice prior to the re-release to have 78 short eps. Nothing is different (removed/changed) in the release, it's just compacted with an intro and outro included.
The actors are literally carrying this show on their backs because the production team, sfx department and director are dropping the ball so often it's embarrassing.
Somehow, it's often the original BL works that are not overhyped which end up being better than a lot of the mainstream tripe, and yet, they continue to go mostly unnoticed.
Nice to see you here Lyson! I picked this drama up yesterday, I finished ep 4 earlier. The cheesy humor did catch…
They're they BEST kinds of characters, the most interesting!
That's why I said dub-con, the absolute correct thing to do would have been for Kinn not to sleep with him obvs, but at the same time, the situation was not black and white. Porsche said many things that showed he was well aware of who he was with and what he doing by that point, he even clearly recalled Kinn kissing him before. That said, he definitely had been drugged to the point where his inhibitions were lowered and so his 'choices' and actions became questionable for sure. Kinn was indeed out of line and out of whack and the one who did the wrong thing to Porsche, on whatever level viewers want to see it on.
" like you cannot convince me that this man is supposed to be dangerous " ~~ exactly, the tryna' make him so bad ass but bro is not meeting that requirement 😂
Oh shit, yeah sorry i forgot you're watching it for the first time! Sorry XD

"they are hardly considered to be "professionals" at this point, they are all just clowns adorned in suits with guns." ~~ facts LOL basically children playing pretend almost 🤣
I don't have issues with any dark content in a show, I have always loved dark psychological mindfuckery, back during RL, I made it very clear in the comments to some whiners that I like my characters morally gray and a little twisted and I'll die on that hill. I mean, my fave characters of all time include Deadpool and Hannibal Lecter. BUT if the main couple includes rape between them, I can't be bothered to watch it. There is no end goal relationship dynamic that's ever gonna be enjoyable for me if it starts with rape. But as a part of the plot in general those themes don't bother me.
I didn't view Kinn's actions of sleeping with Porsche to be rape, and I didn't see Porsche as being non-consenting (I dunno about the source material) but in the show, I didn't see it that way, it was at best a little dub-con on the side of Porsche having drug affected lower inhibitions, but he 100% knew he was flirting with Kinn, knew who Kinn was, no doubt. What I meant was similar to what you said, too unserious, Kinn's choice to DO THAT was out of whack. Like, what mafia boss is going to choose to sleep with their subordinate after something like that? Even if he's gay and attracted to him, I feel like there were more pressing matters to attend to! But like you said, not taking them seriously. To me the only actually rapey one I saw was Vegas.

That whole scene with Vegas taking Porsche to the room was ridiculous because over all and above everything it was handled poorly, in a real situation like that, I really don't see it being handled that way. I can't recall, did they even check the hotel cameras?? Aiya. None of them acted like professional bodyguards and Kinn's actions were also very out of whack. But we have to remember this was based on bad fanfictiony rapey source material, we KNOW how that can go down, we've seen it time and time again lol
Yeah no, it's definitely far from the worst BL ever made, a few tweaks and it could have been worth all that hype!

Hiya! Yeah I'd say don't take it seriously (even though it pretends to take itself seriously which creates moments of cringe) and it'll be easier to get through for sure. There are some highlights, like, the fight scenes don't suck (I love a well done fight scene) and the budget makes everything visually good at least. I also think if they'd leaned into the comedy aspect it would have worked better.
I made it to the end this second time around at least lol the first time I watched it when it aired I had been doing so much skipping and eye rolling I forgot whole ass chunks, and at the time I was disappointed because the hype was wild for this show back then. But I see why people were wild for it, and it's almost entirely because of MileApo, personally can't see any other reason to sit through it XD
Edit: Did you end up watching Shine? I'm still stuck on that show.
Dhevi was peak viper though, no one saw her inner bitch coming until it reared its head at the last moment. I…
I think your text was confusing: "There were hints her being his father’s daughter earlier too." ~ because you used 'his' instead of 'her' before 'father's daughter' lol.
But I do recall that scene now you mention it, although, I don't think it was intended to imply she knew her father was killing people, but she certainly knew he abused his power. We see in the end though that she KNEW. lol Girl was vicious.
Guys, the first kiss scene was so awesome and well done and full of intense feels (Trin was like WOAH and you could see it on his face) but the misaligned audio at the end was bothering tf out of me every time I rewatched it. I'm not even sure if anyone else noticed it was misaligned but I had to fix it for my own sake D:< https://x.com/lyson_pain/status/1981071203746881855
