Surely so, Pran kept chosing Pat over Wai again and again as you pointed out in the bar scene.
He could have come up with some sort of excuse to not see Pat, but he didn't. He certainly made Pat his first priority and rushed to console him.
For a simple,goofy person like Pat who has always been taken advantage of in relationships, he would have never questioned Pran had he come up with an excuse.
But Pran knew THE Pat under all those facade and pretenses.
He definitely knew that underneath those smiles , Pat hides a lot of pain..........
the pain of not being enough, the pain of not living upto others expectations,the pain of not being able to show his vulnerable self, the pain of having to put on a happy face all the time.
Pran knows him like none other. That's like you said what true love is all about
