I am hanging on...I keep hoping that the FL will get better, at least stop whining " A Gou A Gou" all the time. Slowly but surely, I am going to finish this show. :D
I am at ep 25 and am struggling to complete this. It is a unique xianxia but it is so draggy and the show is determined to beat down the good guys to the very end. There are small wins for the ML and his gang but the road to him becoming more powerful is just so tedious to watch. To make things worse, the FL’s character is just annoying…sure she has skills but most of the time, she is just whining and crying and acting all clingy. She is so easily manipulated too. Xing Fei definitely did not bring her A game to this show. I’m going to hang in there for Allen Ren but probably take some time to finish.
This drama was an average watch. The ML outshined everyone else and his character development was the highlight of the show. For me, CSB overacted her role as the FL. I found the FL character irritating for the first part of the show. I was not happy with the rushed and lackluster ending.. Overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for something to fill your time. You might end up liking the FL more than I did.
6th Prince has extensive filmography.... I remember him from Time and Him are Just Right where he played the younger…
You’re right. I actually remember him from Everyone Loves Me and Love Between Fairy and Devil. There’s the other young actor too who plays the nephew Sui An who was the Heaven Emperor in the Starry Love and also in the Blue Whisper… They have a great future if they keep acting in these memorable shows!
HZ is strong and smart in the novel. She held her own ground to protect her family until GYX came to her aide.…
That’s interesting because I have seen others commenting that HZ is always set up to save the day, including GYX’s life and now getting involved in the whole 6th Prince matter. Not having read the novel, I can’t compare but I think the show has managed to show her strength and intelligence but perhaps they wanted to make it more balanced between the leads so the show focused on the collaboration between the two. I agree with you about The Legend of Anle - the FL was watered down somewhat when the ML came into the picture
I like the theme of female empowerment but the side story about Fudong felt more like a filler. That said, the set up for a potential 4th couple was cute.
Right? So far this relationship has been so healthy and they think about the good outweighing the bad. I hope in this case, they don’t do the whole “I need to sacrifice” thing

Excellent drama! Great story writing as well as directing and the pacing was just right. The actors showcased their talents and for me, it was Wang Yibo and Wang Yang that really delivered for me. My favorite was still Shen Tunan and even though his character disappointed me during different parts of the series, I still found him the most compelling.
So it’s revealed in ep 26, the ultimate villain? That seems predictable. lol!
I haven't watched yet. Stuck on a plane trying to stream but failing miserably :D I can guess who the villain is though so let's see if it is that predictable...
Even though romance is not the main theme, I like the way the relationships are developing so organically for all 3 couples. There's no silly lightning-struck "instant fall in love unquestionably".
I much prefer the setup where they got to know each other under various circumstances, spent time together, and started to realize their liking for each other. Allows for many sweet moments!
Is his acting that bad? I really don't noticed at all. A little stiff maybe but it's not so bad that it ruins…
I think his only other costume drama was Handsome Siblings. I have not watched it yet but you might want to give it a try. Even though HYT could do better, I like him enough that I would watch his dramas. I think ZJY is a good actress and I find her appearance very likable.
